TH August tag: Together Forever

So many things to do,
that I forgot all about my Tim Holtz tag.
Here is my version of the August 2012 tag.
You can see Tims instructions on his blog here:
As I do not have all the right tools,
I just tried to give my tag a same kind
of impression.

The border is a Tim Holtz stamp,
but the silhouette stamps are
by Club Scrap (Generations kit)
 The frame and the silhouettes
have been embossed with black embossing powder,
For the flowers I have used the sizzix sizzlet flower die
by Tim Holtz and added a pearl brad in the heart of the flowers.
On the top of the tag, there is a heart and a key and
a small pearl as an embellishment.

Must confess, that I think this tag came out
very satisfactory. Hope you like it too.
Your comment is much appriceated.

Back to School

Every week I make another page for the Weekly
Chronicles at Club Scrap.
This week the theme is: Back to School.

As I have no kids going back to school,
and my sweet grandson is too small even to go,
I came up with some school memories.
These pictures were taken on a reunion
of my primary school.
It was so much fun to see my old school mates again.
I still am friends with one of them
over all these years.

Papers are of course all Club Scrap
(Wild Flower kit) and the  letter stamps
by Michael Strong.

The fun subway art you see on my page,
I googled and found here:

Happy Birthday, Raymond!

As today it is my husbands birthday,
I cannot pass this day without making a card.
So lucky that a moustache is so in fashion
(he has one as long as I know him)
that i ordered the Mr. Maverick embossing folder
to make him a card. The sentiment is
printed with the computer and
the paper is from Kaisercraft (Sears&Son).
Of course the inside had to be nice too!

Mazeltov

So  I even found a font with a mustache.
It is called Sanchez Mustache en you find a free
download at www.dafont.com
The keep calm image I found on
internet while googling for mustache ideas.
This is going to be a wonderful day!

Support

One can't make enough of these
pink ribbon cards.
Important to test oneself and
important to thank all those
who support the cause.

Be always aware it can
happen to anyone.

Here is a card I made with
background paper and
image from
The paper and the image are so great together.
The background paper is printed with the computer
and the border is colored with Victorian Velvet
disdress ink. Of course there is a pink ribbon around the card.

The image is colored with pencils for the woman and
around the image I used different colors of
distress ink that blend in  with the background paper.

The flowers are from Tim Holtz ideaology line. They
are white, but here colores with spun sugar distress stain
and fastened with a pearl brad.

Also I want to make you aware
of the wonderful Clubs Paulette
is doing for special ocsasions
and if you like using digital images
it is a great change to stock up and try it out.

I want to tell you how much
fun these Clubs are and you get so much digital stamps
for only $ 8.50 you can not believe it!
Your mail box will overflow with
wonderful images and sentiments.

You can check it all out

Thank you and
 have a creative day!

Coffee again?!

Hello Stampers,
What does one do without coffee?
I am going to have a cup just now.
Hope you do too, so we can say: cheers!

So let's see what I came up with this time.

I noticed a lot of cards with a text that started with
keep calm, so while searching through the
internet I found this:
Right away I had a fun idea and
came up with this card:

I replaced the white cup wit Michael Strongs
mini coffee cup embossed in gold
Paper and background stamps are by Club Scrap.
This is a real easy card to make, I would say
it took me 10 minutes.
Here a close up.
If you click on the photo you can see an
even larger version.
For the second card I typed the text
in word and printed it out with the computer.
I used the same stamps.
Hope you all are inspired to have some fun coffee cards
and have a great weekend!

and now........
for the winner of the
Michael Strong Summer Blog Hop:

the hexagon stamp goes to:

Is it summer yet?!

It seems the sun finally founds its way to The Netherlands for a few days.
So how about going to the beach?

I used a Create with TLC sentiment
by Michael Strong for this card.

The background is embossed with the
sun ray embossing folder.
Here a close up of the bottom border.
You sea I have embossed the stampes with silver
and dessert rain embossing powder.
i added some pearls and gemstones to make it
a little glittery.

The sentiment is printed with the computer and
cut out with a spellbinder die. Around I added some
yellow and brown distress ink.
So I hope you have a great summer too
and a creative day!

Hockey

The Dutch Hockey players are doing
super at the Olympic Games in Lonon
The men's and the women's team are playing the finals.

The women play on today  against
Argentina for gold.
So as to cheer them on I made a card.

The men play on Saturday against
Germany for the gold medal
and of course we go for
G* O*L*D
For this card I googled a hockey picture
and I thought this was a fun one with only the legs and the
sticks to see. I add the picture here so you can use it too.
The sentiment is a digital one from
And the pennants I cut with my pennant punch
from Stampin'Up!.
Please keep your fingers crossed.

London Olympics

My friend Paulette, from Create with TLC
has a wonderful Olympic Subway FREEBIE
on her blog today and I just had to play with it.
I googled a vintage Olympic image for the background
of this card. Made some Brittish pennants to the size
of my SU! pennant punch. Cut out a Florish Floral with
a tim Holtz die and completed the card with a few
flowers with the Olympic rings on top.

When I start playing I always get more ideas.
With the 5 colors of the Olympic rings in acrylic paint
and the lid of my water bottle I made this Olympic
background by stamping with the lid on my card.
Left the middle part unstamped for the embellishment.
 Here is the finished card.
Now back to the television, for I don't want to miss
seeing just Justin Bolt running.

 Have a creative day!

Watercolor Crayon Technique

Every  month I have a new technique challenge on the
Club Scrap forum. This month I chose for the
watercolor crayons. You can use them to make great quick
and easy backgrounds. Also for stamping.
Here a quick tutorial.

1. (Above) Start with coloring around your card with
a few colors of watercolor crayons.
2. Take a cup of water and a brush.
Dip your brush in water and paint over the watercolor
crayons. This way you make a wonderful background
for your card.
 3. Here is the finished card, for which I used
Club Scrap Wild Flowes stamps an papers.
 4. Ok, now I just had to make another coffee card.
For this I chose my background with more
coffee colored watercolor crayons.
 5. As I stated above, you can also color your
stamp with the crayon. For this you dip the crayon
in your cup of water and then color your stamp with it.
6. Here the result of the stamping.
Another background ready for a card.
This technique is real fun and easy.
7. And this is the finished card.
I used Club Scrap Mocha Java card paper
and ring stamp. Sentiment and cup are from the
Brewed Awakenings kit.
Not only is this a wonderful technique for cards, but
it is also great to make your own scrapbook page
background. You do not have to add color only to
the border, but you can make doodles with the crayond
and add water to color the complete page.
Here is the finished page with hearts of
Michael Strong and
a sentiment by Create with TLC.
