Art Journal

Adding a new feature to my art:
Art Journaling

I entered a groupon facebook where they
challenge you to make a journal page each week
of this year. I have not much experience,
but lots of tools to try this: paint, stamps,
gelli plate, brayer,brushes,so let's start
with the cover.

As many of you know by now, I love making
all kinds of projects with coffee,so I needed
to make the cover with coffee images.

I started with covering the blue cover with
gesso tomake it easier to use other colors on it.

The book is 9 inch x 9,5 inch and i got it at Ikea.

While my book was drying and I did the front,
back and the inside,I googled images and tutorials
on internet, looked at pinterest and you tube.
Big library and many great inspirations.
I decided to take some coffee colored scrapbook papers
to cover my book with. I tore them to pieces
and glued them to the cover like this:

Again leaving this to dry
and forming my idea what to add on top.

Now I used some distress paint to color on top
pf the strips of paper. When all the paint was dry
I got out my stencils and with the darkest brown
distress paint Icolored some images.

The chipboard letters are painted white, covered with
a dotted stencil and some doodling.
Also stamped a few large and small coffee cups.
The nearly finished front.
I also decorated the front inside:

On the facebook group I noticed some people making an
index page and I quite liked the idea. So I stamped some
coffee rings and punched them out with a circle punch.

I have 26 on the first page and the others
will be on the inside last page.

stamped images are by
