Club Scrap August Team Challenge: Back to school

Welcome to another fun challenge and blog hop of the
Artist Team from Club Scrap.
Yes it is that time of the year again and the kids go back to school.
Some moms I am sure are very happy that school starts again.
I noticed a fun video on Facebook about it the other day!

I hope you have arrived here from
and seen her great ideas with going back to school projects.

As you know I live in The Netherlands and we do not have
special traditions around going back to school.
But through Facebook, I see these fun things people do in
America, like a picture when their kids go back to school.
So.... I had the following idea: Owen, my eldest grandson - ag 4 -
is going to school on  Monday August 29 and I wanted
one of these pictures with him in a frame.

Idea for project #1 was born: make a school frame.

So I started out with making a wooden frame and painted it
with black gesso.
Then I found this picture on internet and looked through all
my Club Scrap papers and printed thes on red, blue, yellow,
orange, and green...well the main colors. And I had this:
a lot of crayons nearly ready to go on the frame.

With an oval punch and black paper, I finished the crayons.

Now the were ready to add to the frame with the fantastic
Club Scrap bookbinding glue.
So here are the crayons glued to the frame and I added
Owens name to it with an alphabeth that is from the Fizz kit 2010.
Wonderful childlike lettering and also looking like written on a
blackboard stamped with Club Scrap white inkpad.
Translation from the Dutch:
Owen's 1st school day in Elementry School 2016.
No picture yet for the first day will be Monday.
Watch my facebook then!!

So what else did I came up with:
Made some card and a fun pencil (inspired by pinterest).

Owen loves choclate, so a roll of Dutch chocolate and some paper
makes this fun and delicious pencil.
No template, just went along with the
rol of chocolate. So if you want to make one too,
you have to adjust to the rol and make as you go.

Translation of the Dutch:
Have a lot of fun at school xx Oma

For one card, I started with embossing black paper
with a number embossingfolder and white ink.
Here the finished card with the letters of the Fizz alphabet
and punched out stars (for sure Owen is going to shine in school).
And for the next card I used a drawing of Owen
scanned and resized for this card and added smaller crayons..
Here you see the inside of the czrd.

Then I showed this card to Owen and he said:
Oma, I don't like that you did this and he got to work:
Made some drawings on black paper and said:
now you can add the crayons and in a jiffy we had a
bunch of cards.

So these were my ideas, but there are more, like hop
over to
and see what she has come up with.

If you happen to loose your way, go back to the
where you find all the blog addresses.

Thank you for looking
and hope all your (grand)kids have a great and creative year!
