Apple cards

Today I share with you a bunch of apple cards that I made for the
Jewish New Year (Oct 3 - 4). The apple is a symol of sweetness
and we make it even sweeter with some honey splashed on it.
This way we wish each other a very sweet year. That is the
reason why you very often see an apple on the cards for Rosh
Hashanah (the Jewish new Year - meaning Head of the Year).

I started on the background with a honecomb stencil (that
comes with Michael Strong's Hannah's Busy Bee stamp set)
and 3 colors of distress ink.
After removing the stencil I sprayed a few drops of water on the ink
to give it a distressed look.

Here you see the finished background.

As I have to make a pile of cards, I dried a few different backgrounds.
Like adding more or less water, and different colors.

Then I printed Michael Strong's digital apple (that you can
find HERE as a freebie). I colored the apple digital.
I cut out the apples. Looked for some washi tape and scrappers floss
to finish the cards.

Of course i had to add a sentiment
and you see 2 different ones on the cards.
They both come from Zum Gali Gali Rubber Stamps.

You might also notice some sequins on the card.

The apple and the scrappers floss are added
to the card with a piece of foam tape,

I have used a variation of washi tapes to see which ones
I like best, but i think they all work out well.

Thank you for looking
and have a creative day!

I didn't know that about the symbolism of apples either, so thank you for teaching me something new today. I love the effect of the sprayed water on the sponged hexagons. And I'm intrigued by your spray - it looks as if it would be much easier to direct to where you want it than mine - which tends to give a fine spray when I am hoping for big drops, and makes big splashes just when I really want a fine mist.
