Bookmark

Today not a card, I wanted to do something different.
I love reading (just finished the new Harry Potter!)
and I am always looking for my bookmark.
Today I made 3 new ones.

I was with a friend and found these great
bookmark stamps in her stash
(we just don't know what firm made them).

I started with stamping on a piece of scrap paper
with black ink.

I also stamped with a script stamp on the dress
and than i took out my pecils for coloring.

Next i took out the small dragonfly stamp and die
by Michael Strong. After stamping
and embossing the dragonfly I colored it with
distress ink from my craft sheet.

Then  I took the mask of the die and put it over the
stamped image, marked the dots and....

took the mask off and added the metal die.
A little piece of tape keeps the die in place.

Now the dragonflies are ready to add to the bookmark.

This bookmark has used the same stamp, but here
I embossed the image in gold on the same green paper.
Image collored and the dragonflies embossed
and cut with the die.

The 4rd bookmark is a more Asian background
with Michael Strong's small cloisonné crane stamps.
The background is stamped on a more pink piece of
scrap paper with black ink. The flowers are colored with
pencil. The craines are embossed with black embossing
powder and cut with scissors. Decorated with tiny sticky pearls.

Yhank you for looking,
have a creative day!

All 3 of these bookmarks are beautiful! Cool how you created that mask that shows where to place the die for the dragonfly!

These are very pretty, Hetty! I should make some bookmarks! I think I've only ever made 2 or 3 so thank you for the inspiration. These are all lovely but my favourite is the last one. Enjoy your day, my friend!

What beautiful bookmarks Hetty - I too frequently loose my bookmark, and often use just a slip of paper that may be handy... these are far more elegant!!
