Color Challenge

Over at the Catch the Bug Challenge Blog

I found this fun color challenge and I just

had to make a card.

The sock monkey is an image by Bugabo Stamps

and the sentiment circle is an image by

Create with TLC.

This was the picture of the colors

that is used for the color challenge.

Doesn't it look inviting?

I colorred the Sock Monkey with copic markers

as well as the sentiment.

The rosette is made from scrap paper

with the Tim Holtz rosette die.

The hear is cut out with a spellbinder

and embossed with a tiny hearts

embossing folder. The music paper is

a piece af scrap paper.

Club Scrap Technique for Febuary

For Febuary I chose the Faux Postage technique.

Great for Valentine cards, but you can use it on

any other card too. It is an old and loved

technique and there are many tutorials out there.

Here is mine:

Supplies:

besides stamps, ink

and your favourite color material

you need:

a faux postage template

(click on mine and save to your pc)

or make your own in word

cutting knife,

pencil,

ruler

transparent paper

(click and save to your computer)

Resize it to how you want to use it.

You can use one or more

stamps for your card.

Place transparen paper on top of the

stamp template and mark with a pencil

how many stamps you want to use

and cut out these windows.

Put your stamplate underneath the windows.

It is handy to fasten this with masking tape

or celotape to keep it from moving around.

You can stamp with any color ink.

I stamp with black, because I want to color

it when finished.You do not have to

stamp within the wondow. The transparent paper

will make sure you only see the stamped images

inside the stamp lines.

With a sponge and some light brown ink

the stamps are colored around the images.

Then I take my copic markers and color the images.

This is how the stamps now look, when you take them

from underneathe your template. You can add a postage number

if you want or other postage items.

If you have a postage scissor, you can cut around the stamps

to make them even look more real. I also added some ink around the

border with a sponge. Now you are ready to use the stamps for your card.

Coffee Cozy for Valentine

Today I have a totally different project for you.

I made a coffee cosy.

I was looking around the internet for some

quiling ideas and I found some cute

coffee cozies.

Suddenly I had this Valentine coffee cozy idea.

Supplies:

piece of white sheet

cloisonné mini heart by Michael Strong

love sentiment by Michael Strong

coffee sentiment by Club Scrap

stazon blazing red and inkjet black

pencil

iron

sewing machine

A coffee cozy looks like this template,

but to be sure you have to fit it around

the cup you are going to use and maybe

you have to resize it for your cup.

I found a great quilting tutorial HERE

and it may help you to make your own.

I drew the template on the material to see

were to stamp. I used blazing red stazon ink.

First I stamped the cloisonné mini heart.

After that I used black ink for the sentiments.

Use an iron and a piece of backing paper to

heat set the ink.

Now you sew the cozy together and turn it inside out.

On top of the cozy a decorative line is sewn.

This is the finished coffee cozy.

The closure of the cozy is a button and elastic.

You can use any button, but i made the button

with Michael Strong's coffee cup

and a piece of shrink plastic.

Stamped with black stazon and colored with pencils

before heating the shrink plastic with a heat gun.

Don't forget to punch the holes

before shrinking.

Holocaust Memorial Day

Today is International Holocaust Memorial Day:

it is a day in memory of the people who weere the

the victims of the 2nd World War (1940-45).

Why today, 27th of January?

This is the day was chosen, because on this day

the largest concentration camp

Auschwitz was liberated.

You can read more about this day HERE.

I decided to make a card with the image of Anne Frank

and a quote from her famous diary, that I have been reading

many times and found very impressive like many

many other people who have and will read this diary.

The background of the card is made with very sweet digital rose

paper by Create with TLC. I also used the script

embossing folder and highlighted this with

vintage photo distress ink, showing the writing

of Anne that she did in the diary.

The heart brad is not a real one, but a

Designer Faux Brad as shown in the

Technique Junkies Newsletter of

Dec 2011/Jan 2012.

with it. I just googled

and found this childrens coloring page.

Perfect for the sentiment.

The frog is colored with copic markers

and on the crown I added little gemstones

looking like diamonds.

The lips are sealed with glossy accent.

two little roses.

Coffee today!

Here are a few coffe cards,

for I felt like coffee today.

I got this coffeem image by Create with TLC

and just had to make something with it.

To make the image for this card, I used a program called

Kaleidoscope Kreator. As the name says,

it createsd a kaleidoscope from your image and

is so much fun to use.

The hearts are done with a punch.

For this card I used the January Sketch from Club Scrap

and paper and stamps by Club Scrap.

I made a collage on the paper before cutting it.

The center image is by Create with Tlc.

This card is all by Club Scrap and

with the same sketch. I used two 4x4 inch squares

and after cutting you can make two cards with it.

Today it is Chinese New Year.

It is now the Year of the Dragon.

Welcome Home

Today was a big day.

We had my eldest DD move in with her husband.

They will stay for us at least a year until their

own new home is finished.

In the mean time my DD also is pregnant, su all in all it is

going to be a very exciting year. And of course I had to make

them a card to welcome them. I found this fun image

HERE end the sentiment is by Create with TLC.

The swirls are from a Alterations Sizzix die.

The background is a piece of scrap paper run through the

cuttlebug and sponged with some fired brick distress ink.

The card is finished of with a ribbon and

a lock and key charm embellishement.

Owls for Valentine

Today I have some more owls for you.

The image is by Create with TLC and

so is the sentiment.

But the background is made with

the cloisonné hearts of Michael Strong.

I scanned the background (you can do the right click trick

and save it to your computer to use) and tell you how

I made it: first I stamped the hearts with versamark

and sprinkled clear embossing powder on it and then

heat embossed them all.

With distress stains the background is colored and

the embossingpowder works as a resist.

A few deops of water are sprinkled on top and

heated with the heat gun. Ready for use.

The owl picture is colored with copic markers and

the heart is punched out of a piece of glitter foam.

The second card is made with a subway text by

Create with Tlc. It is printed on craft paper

and run through the cuttlebug with a small

hearts embossing folder. On the borders and the hearts

vintage distress inkt is sponged.

The owl picture for this card is colored in pencil.

On the heart is a little gemstone glued.

Valentine inspiration 2

This is the time to start thinking about,

and making your Valentine cards.

I will have some inspiration for you the coming days.

All the cards you see here are made with images of

Create with TLC.

Here a close-up and you see two images.

The ticket is colored with copic markers

and the other collage picture is printed with the computer.

For the background the papers are run trough

the cuttlebug with an embossing folder

and I added victorian velvet distress ink.

At the bottom of the card another image

colored with copic markers, a ribbon and a

heart embellishment.

The 2nd card is with a collage image

and I printed it on kraft paper and colored it with pencil.

The flowers in the background is a piece of scrap paper.

The sentiment is also by Create with TLC and

the music stamp is an unknown um stamp.

Finished the card with a punched border

and some flowers and a gemstone.

Valentine tag

On Studio L3 Grungy Monday Challenge 32

Linda is clebrating the 12 tags of Tim Holtz,

his techniques and his products.

The question is which of the technique is your

favourite and do something with it.

Well mine was the metal tag which is

tag 6 and you can read all about the

technique here on Tim's Blog:

I used this technique to make a Valentine tag.

I know I am late in posting for the challenge,

but I want to share the result with you anyway.

As you can see I used the Gadget gear die,

the heart and the crown die for this tag.

The embossing folder is a new one I just got

by an unknown brand.

The tag stamp is from the set Odds and Ends.

At the bottom of the tag, I used the

Vintage Lace die strip.Cut out a piece in silver

paper and used silver wire and red beads

to fasten the strip.

What can you do with these calendar images?

Well, you can use them on a birthday card and circle the date of

the person's birthday.

Here I used it for a Valentine card. Made a heart around the date

The desk calendar is an easel card with

a post it notepad and a pen at the bottom.

The base of the card is 5,5"x 11.

And for the pen there is a ribbon attached to the notepad

before gluing it to the bottom of the card.

The calendar is fastened with a bookclip

so you can change the month every time

very easily.

Valentine inspiration

More cards with images from the

Febuary Club at Create with TLC.

I printed the main image on a book page.

The sentiment is also from Create with Tlc.

The hearts are the mini cloisonné hearts

by Michael Strong and they are embossed in gold.

For this card I used the same image,

but I colored the hears and the lines differently.

Sentiment is also from Create with TLC.

On the doths of the swirly pattern some red

gemstones are added.

The banner is made with the banner punch by SU!

and all the flags are tied together with wax thread.

Here a close up of the banner.

I stamped the mini hearts again in distress ink (frayed burlap)

and added the letters on top (a clear set I have).

On each letter there is a little gemstone.

Here are some cards I made today.

All are made with digital images by

Create with TLC.

Paulette has a wonderfulk feature: The Club.

You can subscribe for a few dollars and get lots

of digital images in your mailbox.

Every month there is a new Club.

This bingo card is made with digital images

of the Febuary Club. Lots of Valentine

and birthday images.

I printed them on kraft paper and on white.

The boy and girl are colored with copic markers.

This winter card is made with some of the free images you can find on

the Create with TLC Blog.

I printed out the winter words and then I used a

snowflake embossing folder. I used a little blue

distress ink on it to make the snowflakes more visable.

The mittens are colored with copic markers.

For the background i also used the same snowflake embossing

folder and the icicle embossing folder.

First I added some white ink and after this

a used clear embossing powder to make

it look very icy.

Happy Birthday, Tim!

Tomorrow is thebirthday of Tim Holtz.

Happy birthday!

To celebrate this there is a challenge at

Studio L3 for

Grungy Monday 31 to make something

for Tim Holtz's birthday.

I just couldn't make a birthday card,

it had to be something special, because Tim is so special

with all his inspiration.

I came up with the idea to make him

and Mario an nice cupcake to celebrate.

I found these nice free cupcake wrappers

online (which you can safe with a right

mouse click to your own computer).

It took me two times printing to find the

right size that I wanted to use.

I printed the wrappers on the back of a piece of Kreaft Resist paper

and cut it out with scissors. I used a pearl acryl dabber to

color the paper and stamped on it with stazon and a stamp from

the Purely random stamp set.

I used all the sizes of the rosettes.

Also out of Kraft Resist paper and added some vtage photo

distress ink and stain. Than I glues them together with my hot glue gun.

Tim is done with the Vintage letters and glued with glossy

accent on a piece of wire. The man stamp is also from the Purely Random

stampset. Stamped on kraft paper and colored with pencil.

The ticked is from the Odds and ends stamp set.

The sentiment is from a clear set from my stash.

Here you see theother cupcake.This time I added

a few sticky pearls in the stamped motive.

On top a ruggled flower is glued with a little hot glue.

I just love using my Stampin'Up! owl punch.

This one is so versatile, you can make almost anything

out of it. I love to surf the web and see what others have

done with it. One day I came across this: a BABUSHKA

and made a pregnancy card out of it.

Cheers to the New Year

The New Year has begun and already I used my

first pictures for my first scrapbook page of 2012.

This page is made with

- papers of Club Scrap Aurora Borealis

- numbers by Michael Strong

- sentiment by Create with TLC

The "oliebollen" en "appelflappen" are Dutch delicacies for the end

of the year. Oliebollen are a kind of doughnut balls with raisins inside

and appelflappen are apples with a sause around it fried in oil.

I stamped the numbers with versamark and embossed them

with gold embossing powder. Added a little gloitter sticker to go with the sentiment.

The sentiment is printed on the paper, cut to size and

some glitter stickers added.

Vintage New Year2

Another card for the New Year.

I do like the vintage style with the kraft paper.

Starting with the clock die by Tim Holtz

out of black paper the clock and the clock hands.

Then using a silver dabber on the paper, but only slightly

and rubbed rock candy distress stickels on top of

the clock and let it all dry.

Next I colored the image with copic markers and

rubbed a little of the distress stickels on the dresss

and let this dry too.

For the background I used the new and wonderful musical

tissue paper by Tim Holtz idea-ology. I cut out a piece of

cardstock 5 x 5 inch put some glue on it,

wrinkled the tussue paper and gluedit to the cardstock.

Put this in a box and sprayed it with Puerto Rico

blue glimmermist and also set it aside to dry.

Meanwhile I put all the flowers together andadded also

some distress stickels.

The tab is made of double folded kraft paper

with the sentiment printed on it and inkted with

walnut stain all around.

When all was dry, I glued all the pieces together

and finish the card. I made sure the clock hands

were in between the couple (now they can kiss behind them

at 12 o'clock).

Hanukkah day 8

On the 8th and last day of Hanukkah I have some ATC's for you.

I have wrapped them in this nice folder.

Because the ATC's are a bit bulky, I just sandwiched them
in the booklet. It is great to make a gift like this.

Thee booklet is made out of Tim Holtz Kraftresist
paper (8,5 x 11 inch) and I used the technique as described on
The blog of Tim Holtz
with the 12 tags for Christmas.

The stamps used on all the ATC's are
from Club Scrap, Create with TLC,
Stampin'Up! and techniques from the Blog of Tim Holtz.
as i enter this post for Grungy Monday,
who is celebrating Tim Holtz products.
And there are prizes to win from Simonsaysstamp.

ATC 1: uses Gadget Gear die and tickets.
The Hanukkah wish on the ticket is a
digital stamp from Create with TLC.

How to get the stamp on the ticket?
First I resized it to the size of the ticket
and printed it on a normal piece of print paper.
Than I fastened the ticked with masking tape on
top of the print paper and reentered the paper
in the printer and now it printed the image
on the right place on the ticket.
The image is colored with pencil.

ATC 2:
Swntiment by Create with TLC,
Menorah by Club Scrap,
embellishment by Tim Holtz.
The background of the tag is like is described
with tag 8 by Tim.

ATC 3: here I wrapped an old
slide frame in the tissue paper and
rubbed some distress stickles on it like
on tag 12 by Tim. Inside the image by
Create with TLC as the menorah should
be lighted in front of a window.

This is the back of the ATC's that I made
digitally and colored with pencil and rubbed
some walnut distrss ink around the border.

Hanukkah day 7

On the 7th day of Hanukkah I made a sketch card.

While I was at it, I also use the sketch

to make a New Year card with some

digital Stamps from Create with TLC.

There are some lovely sets to make New year cards.

I used Happy New Year 2012 for

the card below in combination with a stamp froim Club Scrap

(kit After Five 2008)

For this card I used New Year, Smooth Sailings.

It is for our boat club and i used a photo of the

harbour in combination with the digital stamps.

Hanukkah day 6: Scrapbooking

our Family Hanukkah celebration.

Hanukkah day 5

On the 5th day of Hanukkah I have a silver and blue card for you.

For this card I used the

"Paisley"stamps by Michael Strong

I stamped 8 of the smallest paisley shapes and embossed

them with silver embossing powder and did the same with

one of the larger paisley shapes.

On each shape I glued a silver gemstone.

The Happy Hanukkah sentiment is by Stampin'Up!

and also embossed in silver.

Hanukkah day 4

On the 4th day of Hanukkah I have a card for you

that you can even see in the dark!

What do you need to make this card?

* a strip of cardstock 4x12 inch

* a piece of vellum

* stamps

* a candle on batteries

* scissors, glue, ink, ruler and pencil

First score the strip of paper at 4"and at 8".

Cut a window in the most right flap

and stap a menorah on a piece of vellum.

Adhere this piece on the backside of the window

with the coloring towards the inside.

On the most left panel you use a piece of cardstock

with some embellishments, so the standing

part of the card leans behind this embellishment.

Take your battery operated candle and move

it behind the window.

around the internet and found all kinds

of edible Hanukkah treats for you.

All of you make the latkes (potato pancakes),

but these recipies are so creative an yummy,

that I want to share them with you.

Hanukkah Day 2

On the 2nd day of Hanukkah I have a gift card holder for you

in the shape of a dreidel.

You find the instructions down below.

with a template.

The stamps I have used are digital.

The bears with the dreidel are by Hambo

and the sentiments are by Create with TLC.

The paper is by Club Scrap.

You start with a piece of cardstok 5,5 inch x 8 inch

and fold it as a card.

Here you find the template with all the measurements

to make the card look like a dreidel.

Now you also cut a piece of cardstock

of 3 x 12 inch. This is used to make the

card holder.

Folded card when cut as shown on the template.

The strip isscored at 4 - 6 - 8 inch and volded like a "W".

Right in the middle the hole for the card is cut

(you can use a window punch for this or

cut it by hand).

Put some double sided tape on one side of the small parts

and stick the small parts together. You see on the next

picture how it will look when done.

Turn the strip of paper and you see wher the gift card should go.

Stick the strip into the card with glue or tape.

Now your card is ready to be decorated inside

and out.

and add the gift card in the middle.

The first one is a Flap Card and you can find all about this on the

Technique Junkies Design Blog.

The other project is this dreidel you see below.

I got the idea when I looked at the Christmas tree

on the blog of Tim holtz.

I used the large rosette die to make this dreidel out of

Club Scrap Tilescapes paper.

For the handle of the dreidle I used a small pencil

(the ones you get at Ikea).

Do take a look at Tim's blog to see how he did

make the rosette in this form.

For decoration I used a spelbinder snowflake die

that shows a Star of David in the middle.

You do see a bulb of glue, but that is to make the dreidle

turn well. The Hebrew letter make a sentence

which means "A great micacle happened there"

(there being in Israel)

With the dreidel we play a game with candy or chocolate money

and all about the game you find here.

The pencil is half covered with blue fibres from the Club Scrap Tilescape kit.

With hot glue (from a glue gun) you can easily positon the

pencil in the middle of the rosette.

I am going to make some new year cards with this set.

Here is the first one in blue and silver.

For the background I used a piece of

scrap paper and the top is embossed with icicles.

I used some white paint on the raised icicles

and added some picket fence distress stickles.

The picture of the bear is colored with copic markers.

The snowflakes are a spellbinder die, that I also used

for the inside of the card.

The second card is more in Christmas colors.

Also a piece of scrap paper with the icicle embossing folder on top.

The picture is colored with copic markers and the

snowflake is out of felt with a paper rose on top.

Little sticky gemstones are all over the card.

Today I made a scrapbook page about me and my friend

working in her kitchen to make Tim Holtz tags.

The papers for this page are by Club Scrap (Comfort Zone)

and you see the gears from the Alterations die by

Tim Holtz and on the tag there is the snowflake die

and the snowpal by Michael Strong as wel as his

winter cameo.

Making all the tags is over now. and I had so much fun.

Because I do not celebrate Christmas, but Hanukkah.

Tim Holtz tag 12

And so here is tag 12, the last of Tim's tags.

This was so much fun and so intense en

learned so much new stuff! THANKS TIM!!

Now for the original and all the instructions you go

to the Blog of Tim Holtz.

Tag #12 is absolutely one of my favourites.

As you can see I even made two.

Boith are full with Hanukkah symbols.

On this first tag you see a little david star hanging

from the fibres, that i just found today in a

shop with Christmas decorations. Isn't it cute!

The words on the house "Maoz Tzur" are from a song

that is sung with the candle blessings (more info here)

In the house I cut a window, for it is a custom

to light the candles in front of the window for

everyone to see. The photo is from a few years back:

it is my dad and my DD singing the blessings.

The candleholder is stamped with white on plastic

and glued to the window opening. The sentiment

stamp is by Zum Galli Gali stamps

and means "Happy Holiday".

Tag 12-2 is a little more close to Tim's

original tag. Although I changes the word

and added shutters to the house to

imply a window.

I chose the word "bless" for here the man is lighting the candles

and this goes with a blessing.

The flower is on top of the tag. See Tim's blog

on how to make the flower.

The worda on the house refer to the letters that

you see on the dreidel.

The picture of the man lighting the candles I grabbed from the internet.

The dreidel is a die from Quickutz.

Tim Holtz tag 11

This is tag #11 and as you can see below, I even made two.

The stamps I used for this tag are by Stampin'Up!

and the candles are a Sizzix die.

How to make these fun embellishments with shrink plastic

This is the second tag.

I used a sentiment by Club Scrap.

The big stamp is by Paula Best

and the dreidels are a quickutz die.

On the top you see two little plastic candles

fastened with hot glue.

Now there is just one more tag to go.

Tim Holtz tag 10

Here is my version of Tim's tag #10.

I chages it into a very wintery tag.

For Tim's in structions you go here.

These snowcrystals are not made with the rosette die,

but with a punch you see below. So if you do not have

the rosette die, this is how you can make your own

rosette in any size you like.

Take a punch and punch out the border and cut it into a strip.

For this one I used a strip of 9 1/4" by aprox 1 1/4".

I folded every 1/4 inch (37 folds).

The rosette is inkted with ice spruce distress ink and sprayed

with silver glimmer mist.The ice cristal on top is cut out of

grungeboard, painted with white acryl paint and

picket fence distress stickels on top.

The base of the tag is Kraft Core paper.

First the tag cut out and then embossed with the snowflakes.

The snowflakes are sanded down and

white acrylic paint is added on top.

The top of the tag is embossed with

the ice border and also acrylic white paint.

And to make it look even more icy I added

clear rock candy distress stickels.

The embellishment is tulle, silver tassle and 3 little silver bells.

The bels are tied together with metal wire and all is glued with

hot glue to the tag.

Here you see the banner up close (click on the picture for even larger view)

and you see that i have embossed the banner with snow flakes.

Also added some white acryl paint and ice spruce ink

on the outsides of the border. The letters are made with grungeboard,

painted in silver and glossy accent on top.

I used the different letter dies for this.

Back to my craftroom for tag # 11.

Tim Holtz tag 9

Tag # 9 is very shiny. Lots of embossing and

hard to get a good picture.

Tim's instructions for this tag can be found

For this tag I used a dreidel again.

I found this one in my stash and is from Jolee.

Just the right size to use. I distressed it and added some

vintage photo ink.

I used the word "light" in stead of "peace".

With all the candles burning on Hanukkah it bings

so much light into the world.

The money coins you see here are the left overs

from some chocolate money and with foam tape

added to th tag. Gelt (or candy) is used to play

the dreidel game.

Here is tag #8 in the series od Tim Holtz 12 tags

for Christmas. You can see the original

This is my Chanukkah version,

that of course needs some explanation

on certain symbols I choose to use.

The Hebrew sentiment saus Hag Sameach,

which means Happy Holiday.

The candles i used as embellishments with the

ribbon are two real little candles, that you usually

use on a birthday cake.

The candle holder - the chanukkiah - we use

every night to add another candle.

In stead of the three men i used Tim's car, with the 8

as a number on the the side of the car. The eight stands

for the 8 days that this holiday lasts. Every day we light one more

candle until all 8 candles burn. The middle candle (the 9th) is

the helper, this candle is used to light the others.

The sentiment that I used is by Create with TLC.

Tag # 6:

Have an artful new year!

This is what I have come up with after seeing

the new instructions on the blog

of Tim Holtz.

For the tag I did not have the embossing folder

as shown on Tim's blog, so I chose to use

this clock folder. And after embossing the

metal I colored with more brownish colors.

Only the background is a teal color.

I really like this technique and will surely do it again.

Thanks Tim for yet another new technique.

Tim Holtz tag 5

My variation is a dreidel tag.

What is a dreidel you may ask.

It is a little toy that you play with

by giving it a twist and it will fall at the end.

The four letters on the dreidle have

the following meaning:

a great miricle has happened there

(meaning the miricle of Hanukkah).

The letters are also used for

the game and stand for give, take,

pass over or change.

It is played with candy. More about

it you can finde here.

In the middle of the wreath you see a little dreidel

made out of shrink plastic.

Sinterklaas

In the Netherlands we are celebrating "Sinterklaas".

It is mostly a festival for children.

You can read about the history and traditions HERE.

Of course i had to make a card and

when I noticed the freebie sentiment on

Create with TLC, I knew I had to use it.

Sinterklaas goes out at night on the rooftop

to bring the presents to the children.

The letters I cut with my Cricut with the basic font

and the roset is made with Tim Holtz alterations die.

I used the smallest roset. On top there is a

cloisonn's circle accent by Michael Strong with

a sticky gemstone on top.

I hope all who celebrate will have a wonderful evening!

Tim Holtz tag 4

So, I here is tag 4. This one took some drying time,

but was so fun to make.

Can you believe Tim Holtz was inspired by the snow that had

fallen in Arizona! Here in the Netherlands it should snow,

but we just have stormy weather and not to cold for

the time of the year. It was however great to be inside and craft.

Tim Holtz's Blog.

He has such wonderful and detailed instructions.

Again I chose to make the tag for Hanukkah.

And I had stashed somewhere this lovely Hanukkah token,

that I could fasten to the fibres.

Even though the tag is quite similair, the number is different.

I made an 8 with my cricut out of musical scrap paper.

This number because the Holiday of hanukkah lasts for 8 days.

I added glossy accent and when all was dry I added a bit of

frayed burlap distress ink to the borders.

Now here is a second tag. The background is is the same as the

first one, but for this tag I used Michael Strong's

Snowpal and winter cameo.

I stamped the winter cameo on kraft paper

with faded jeans distress ink and used a bit of white

pencil before I embossed and used clear embossing powder.

Thank i cracked the embossed part to give it an

icy look. Punched a hole and added it to the fibres.

I stamped the Snowpal with black, colored it with pencil

and cut out the shape. It is completely embossed

with clear embossing powder.

I also added a Michaerl Strong sentiment to the bottom.

Mine is just inspired by it for i did not have the

materials to make it like Tim.

For my tag I used stamps by Club Scrap and Tim Holtz.

Stamped them with Broken China, Faded Jeans

and Festive Berries.

This is the embellishment. I embossed the chanukkiah

(candle holder) in silver and cut it out.

The swirls are done with the festive greenery

die from Tim Holtz. I also added a flower and some

sticky pearls.

Tim Holtz tag 1

For the 5th year Tim Holtz is posting

12 tags for Christmas on his blog.

Sharing his creativity and lots of tutorials.

Many people follow this and try to create a tag à la Tim.

I love to give it a go to and due to the fact that I am Jewish and

not celebrating Christmas some of my tags will be for

Hanukkah

(more info you find HERE).

So let's start with tag #1.

All Tim's info you can find HERE.

You will find a video tutorial on how to make these flowers.

I did not have the same die that Tim has used, but more

of a spiral. So I gave little cuts on the ouside to make

the petals. I sprayed the flowers with glimmermist

and added a pearl in the heart.

The sentiment I used is by Create with TLC and I

first printed it on the same paper as i made the tag from.

Than I cut it and put it on top of the banner die to

get this wonderful shape. Some broken china

and ice spruce added to fit the color to the tag.

Added some beads to the ribbon

for embellishment. They are from my stash.

In the middle I used a sizzix top note die and made

an irisfolding dreidle. I have the template for you HERE

and if you have never done any irisfolding, I have a

tutorial for you on my blog HERE.

Now I am ready to start making tag #2!

Michael Strong Holiday Tag Blog Hop

Welcome to the Michael Strong Tag Blog Hop.We hope to give you some Holiday inspiration for the Season of 2011. 13 blogs have joined together to make sure you see lots of creativety with some of Michael Strongs favourite stamps.

And now for some creativety:

Here are the tags I made for the blog hop! I had so much fun that I made 4 tags with the numbers of the new year. I might make a card out of it. I cut the numebers with my cricut and used George and Basic Shapes font cartridge. For the base of the tags I cut some paper in the size of 3 x 5,5 inch.

I used Tim Holtz movers and shapers snowflakes and cut

some masks out of the TH mask sheet and placed

them on top of the tags.

The tags were placed in a box and sprayed with

Puerto Rico glimmermist.

When you take the masks of the tags it looks like this.

Take your tonic distress tool, some ice spruced distress

ink and your blending tool to deepen the color of the tag..

Now you can go ahead and decorate.

All the tags are a little different.
This one is with Michael Strong's Chrismas tree
and ornament (as a charm) and
Tim Holtz townscape die.

For this tag I used Tim Holtz rosette

And Michael Strong's cloisonné circle

and dog. The circle is embossed in siver

and the dog is colored with pencil.

For this tag I printed a mini-calendar.

On the last tag I used Michael Strong's

Snowpal. You see also snowflakes. Those are

cut with Tim Holtz movers and shapers. i used some cheap

glitter rubber that now is available everywhere.

The sentiment is also by Michael Strong on one

of the banners cut out of a Tim Holtz die.

As you have seen on tree of the tags I have some

charms made out of the Michael Strong stamps.

I used shrink plastic to make them. I stamped the image on the

shrink plastic and cut it out. The tree with a die,

but the ornament and the snowpal with scissors.

Before heating the shrink plastic, color your image with pencil

and make a hole for the ribbon.

This is to show you how small the image became.

I used the middle size Christmas tree.

I finished them with adding glossy accent.

In the hole I put a tooth pick to keep it open

for the ribbon.

Can you believe it? Sketch #200 over at

This time when you play you can ecen win a prize,

so give it a try.

It is such an easy and fun sketch, that I made two cards.

Card # 1 is with Tim Holtz new Christmas stamp.

I stamped it in the two new special winter

distress colors and then embossed it wit

clear embossing powder. When all was

drie I used the snowflace embossing folder.

I am totally in love with my Stampin Up! owl punch

and all the things you can make with it.

Here is my Santa Owl.

The second card is with the trees of Michael Strong

stamped with a multi colored inkpad. When done

I ran it through the cuttlebug with a snowflake

folder and added some white ink.

Here I used the SU! owl punch again to make a

reindeer out of it holding the sentiment (by Michael Strong).

Beterschap/ Get well

Toen mijn kinderen klein waren,

maakte ik altijd iets voor ze als ze ziek waren.

Nu zijn ze groot en maak ik een kaartje.

Deze is voor mijn oudste dochter, omdat ze zo

zielig klinkt en van uiltjes houdt (net als ik).

When my children were small, I always

made them something when they were

not feeling well. Now they are older

and I make them a card.

This one is for my eldest DD,

because she sounds so pitiful and

because she loves owls (just like me).

Notepad gift

Today I have a tutorial for you

on making a notepad with a pen.

Stamps used are by Club Scrap

and Michael Strong.

You can make this for any size of notepad

you want to use. To know the size op paper, you

measure the width and the length.

Take the width twice and add 1,5 inch.

The length you keep the same.

For this tutorial I used a post-it notepad of 3,25 inch
in width and 5,5 inch in length,
so I took a piece of cardstock of

8 x 5,5 inch. Double sided tape, scissor, pen and

ruler.

Start with scoring (you can use a score tool)

3,25 - 3,75 - 4,25 inch

Ril het papier in de breedte op 8,5 cm - 9,5 cm en 10,5 cm
vanaf de rechterkant.
Het eerste stuk aan de rechterkant,
is de bovenkant van het blokje.

For the pen holder we are going to cut

between the scored lines. I measured a one

inch holder in the middle of the notepad.and

draw the lines with a pencil.

Om de pen in je blokje te kunnen doen, maken we twee
lijntjes over de gerilde lijnen. Zoek het midden op (7cm)
en aan weerskanten een lijn op 2,5 cm.
Knip dit in met de schaar.

Cut on the pencil line with your scissor,

Add double sided tape on the side of the score

lines closes towards the larger side (this is the back).

Don't add tape where you have cut.

Plak nu dubbelzijdig tape dichtbij het grootste
vlak (dit is de achterkant).
Plak geen tape op het middenstuk, daar komt de pen.

Glue that side towards the backside of the notepad holder.

Plak het geheel naar de brede achterkant.
Vouw de pennenhouder naar buiten.

Fold the penholder outwards. This is how it looks now.

Glue the post-it notepad inside the holder.

Plak het post-it blokje nu op de achterkant,
stop de pen in de houder
en versier de bovenkant naar keuze.

Put the pen in the holder. Now you are ready to

decorate the top side of the note pad.

You can just add decorated paper or

decorate with a stamped image.

Today I created a birthday card.

Paper and sentiment are by Club Scrap.

Panel with butterflies and circles

are by Michael Strong.

I added some gemstones

on the circles.

Michael Strong November challenge

This tag I made for the November challenge on the

Michael Strong Stamp group.

The challenge is to make an oblong thank you card.

For this card I made a tag in the middle.

I used Tim Holtz new Thanksgiving stamp.

I embossed in in clear embossing powder

and used wild honey distress stain on top to

color the tag.

In the middle of the tag you see some decorations.

The leaves are done with sizzix dies and sprayed with

glimmer mist. The pumpkin is made with the egg stamp

by Michael Strong. Also the letters are stamps by

Michael Strong.

On top of the tag theire are some ribbons and

a bead decoration that is fastned with a safety pin.
