More Create with TLC Simply Words

This new set by Create with TLC
is so versetile,I cannot stop playing with it.

You find the set HERE and is only $ 2.75

For these cards I used a technique
called Ëmboss around the image"
 If you are a member
you find it in the Newsletter of Oct/Nov 2012.

And of course a coffee card!
The background is embossed with a sizzix
coffee bean embossing folder (see here).
On top I printed the Create with TLC sentiment
and cut it out with a spellbinder die.
Used the Club Scrap coffee stain stamps
and Michael Strong's coffee cups.

This is the inside of the card  with a sentiment
by Inkadinkado.

The cups are colored with distress markers
and on top there is glossy accent.
It is hard to see on the picture.

Journal52 wk3: You make me smile

For the Journal53 project is here my page for week 3.
The theme is: You make me smile
and who else but little Owen makes me smile every week
that he is with me all day!

As on that day he is the center of everything that we do,
I placed himin the center of my page.

After covering my page with gesso, I used my gelatos
to give my page this bright colors.

After the coloring I used my water spritzer and used
my fingers on the page thomingle the colors
and added extra water to make the dripped lines.

On top of the gelatos I used several stecils and
ditress paint. Alot of heating in between.

The sentiment stampis one by Club Scrap (2009).

For the stars I used a stencil and a babywipe.
This took away the color and the white stars are seen.
A black marker made the contour of the star.

The spots on the paper are made  with
 white spray from Dylusions.

Create with TLC Simply Word Set

Create with TLC has a wonderful new wordset.
If you like it too, you can find it HERE.

Today I share the cards with"big wish"
with you in combination with the elephant
 stamps by Michael Strong

For both these cards I first printed the sentiment
on white cardstock. Then cut the paper to the size
of the panel I want to use before placing the stamp.

The elephant is tamped with versamark and embossed
with black embossing powder. I also stamped the
elephant on a piece of scrap paper and cut out the elephant.

I used a ged gelatos stick to color the elephant.
I also decorated the panel with a few pieces
of washi tape.

On this card the elephants are stamped with versamark and
silver embossing powder. I did not color the elephants,
I very much like the card like this. I only used a few pieces
of silver glitter tape.

More cards soon! (one tomorrow for the Technique Junkies)

Have a creative day!

Club Scrap weekly chronicles wk2: Winter

It took me some time to come up with an idea
for my winter themed page for
Club Scrap's Weekly Chronicles.

Why you may ask......well winter in the Netherlands
is very mild until now and pictures just
look like an autumn day. So what to do?
How about some typical Dutch winter food?
I found a nice vegetarian recipe for typical Dutch
split pea soup. You can find an original recipe
and some more info here.

Of course there are many different recipies and
you can google on peasoup recipe (vegetarian if
you like).

For journaling I made a kind of clipboard out of
paper. On topmy journaling for this week and underneath
I have added the recipe (so I won't loose it).

The papers i used for this page is Club Scrap's Bon Appetit
(June 2012). Here Iused some of the stickers and cut outs.

Here you see the ingredients of the soup.
Also you see the typical sausage peaple eat with
the soup. We had a beef sausage for the last
evening we had the soup.

Thank you for looking.

Have a creative day!

Gelatos Fun

Today I have for you a card
and a technique tutorial with gelatos ( or gel sticks).

I show you a background technique
and how you can use the gelatos for coloring
the stamped image.

Let's start with the background. You need a peace of water
color paper and an embossing folder and a embossing
machine of your liking. Run the paper through with the sandwich
needed for this machine.
When finished your paper looks like this.

Because I want to make a water ackground I choose
2 blue sticks and a green one. With each stick you
go over the raised images in a color choice of
your liking.
When finished coloring you take a watercolor pen,
or a water spritzer and  a brush.
Make the color wet and brush it out over the paper.
When you are finished dry the paper with a heatgun
and then cut tothe desired size. Lay aside
while you are going to make the image for
the front of the card.

You need your stamp, white embossing powder,
versamark ink,gelatos and white cardstock.
Start with stamping your image with versamarg
and add white embossing powder on top.
Use your heatgun.
Next take the desired colors of gelatos and rub on
top of the image. When done, take your finger
to rub over image and really make sure there is
 color everywhere.
Take a paper towel to rub over the white lines
and make sure the are clean and white again.
Now you can cut out the image and use on your card.
If you click on the picture you can even see a more
close up of the card. The sentiment is by
my frien Joanne.

Nothing is left, even the part that I cut of the
background is used to decorate the inside.
Have a creative day!

Journal52 - 2: Somewhere, a Simple Place

Here is my second page for my Art Journal.
The theme is "Somewhere, a Simple Place..."

There are many places where I like to be,but the best
place is home:home where he is and
home were my art is.

I started this page by laying down some stencils
and spraying a few colors of dylusion spray ink.
The page just grew by adding stamps, doodeling and
words. It is a journey tomake a page and I like that a lot.
The stamps I used are the home and the coffee cups
(left over from the cover) by Michael Strong
and the leaves are from the Dylusion Stamps
by Ranger.

The words have been handwritten with some
doodling around them. The works have been colored with
a white gelpen.

The clouds heve been made with a stencil. I first applied
a layer of gessoand let it dry. Then I used the stencil again
to aplly blue distress ink (stormy sky) and used a black
pen to doodle around the clouds.

Thanks for looking.
