Tim Holtz April tag

April....you may say... it is May!

Yes,sorry, I am behind, I had so many other things

to do, that I juat did not have time to make it,

I have made two tags.

The first one is with

Michael  Strongs large cloissoné tulip stamp.

As I do not have the spritzer Tim used,

I came up with my own solution.

I used distress stains for the background splatter.

I diluted the ink with watter and took a paintbrush to splatter

the ink on the background. With the distress stains i also colored 

the tulip images. I used the inkpads for the inkaround

the edges.

Hello is a dies from StampinÚp! and the

word tulipsis stamped with an old Stampin'Up!

alphabet set.

I had to make this one too.

By now you know,my DD is expecting twins, so 

I had to have the new Tim Holtz baby stamps.

With Stormy skies and the new cracked pistacho I had a 

perfect combination for ths tag. I made the splatters like

i did with the tulip tag.

The 2 is from a set of grey board numbers and colored with

the distress stains.On top glossy accent for extra effect.

The text is with the same old alphabet stamps from Stampin'Up!

Tim has one star on his tag,but these babies need

2 stars! 10 more weeks to wait..........

Club Scrap Botanical Blog Hop

Welcome to the Club Scrap Monthly Blog Hop.

This time the spotlight is on the April kit

~Botanicals~

Hope you arrived here from Deb Weller's Blog
and enjoyed her wonderful art work.

Last week I had to make something inspired by
pinterest for the Artist Team Blog post
and because my pizzabox arrived so late
I did not have much time and there was another technique
I wanted to try. I saved it to share here with you
in combination with my project.

For the technique I want to share with you
I got out my Distress Stains and tried to
match them up with the Botanical papers.

and the technique i will be using is called "Bingo Blast".

Why? well use your distress stains like you play bingo.

Push them wih a liitle force on your paper and

if you use different colors you get something like this:

Doesn't this look like flowers? I helped it a little more

with stamping some of the flower stamps on top.

For the stamping I used black ink.

The result of using this background is this:

The sentiment is one of the cut outs, that came with the kit

as well as the ribbon and the shiny brads.

This is how it looks when you stamp on top

with more colored inkpads.

And from that background i made this gatefold card.

On top Iused a stamped flower and one of the woodsies

 that came with this kit. The sentiment is printed

with the computer in the font that belongs to this kit.

For this background I stamped the flower with

versamark and embossed it with white embossing powder.

On topof the flower a splashed the ink. 

I thought it was a little to white,

so I added some of the other colors.

Then cut it into 4 squares and colored all sides with green ink.

With  a spellbinder I cut out 4 squares from the light green paper

and taped the stamped images on top. I was not going to use

these for a card,but for some table decoration.

I took  decorated 12x12 piece of paper and cut this into

a 10,5"x 10,5"square. Score at 3,5"and 7" both ways

and cut to make this into a box.

Decorate the box first with a ribbon and add the

stamped images on top with foam tape.

Sunday scrap page: tulips

Sunday scrap page with tulips in a pocket page.

These pockets for scrapping make it so easy to fill a page.

The photo's on the left are just tucked into the pocket.

The right site is a pocket of 6 x 12 inch and is filled with a piece of

Club Scrap Homestead green paper stamped with the large

tulip stampby Michael Strong. I only stamped lightly with red ink

for i wanted it to be a soft background image to the pictures.

On the top I used the smaller tulip stamp for decoration.

I stamped it in versamark and embossed it with red  embossing

powder. After heating it with the heatgun, I turned the paper

and layed it on a soft rubber from a mousepad  and used one of those

pergamano pens on the back to emboss the flower. This way the 

white showed through the red of the flower.

The journaling is printed on vellum,so you see the stamped

background through.It is fasted with tiny red bads.

Saturday card: Lily

Birthday card today for avery good

stampoing friend with

  Michael Strong's

Lily stamp set.

Here is how I made this card:

I started with stamping the background with

a light grey and leaving a strip of white.

Then I covered the stamped area

and with orange and green ink I covered

the white strip.

This is how it looks when the strips of post-it have 

been removed. Ready for stamping.

I stamped the large lily in black on top of

the strip and a sentiment is also added.

To finish off the card I added tiny sticky

gemstones in the heart of the flower.

Club Scrap Artist Team: Pinterest inspiration

Today the Artist team of Club Scrap

shares with you where they

got their inspiration.

Yes, on pinterest! This is such a large

board of inspiration, there is always

something that  tickles you to get crafty.

I chose to cards with these techniques:

1. colored strip:

On the Club Scrap Blog I shared 

2 cards more or less like the card I found.

This time I used the colored paper

of the Botanical kit. It comes also with this

wonderful sentiment, that fits the colored strip

just perfectly.

The second technique is the "Bokeh" technique.

On the Club Scrap Blog I did it as I found the tutorial

on watercolor paper. Then I had the idea of just

adding the ink right to the white paper and see

if i had a same impression.I taped down the whate paper 

with washi tape o all 4 sides. Thenused 3 colors

for the background and colored randomly.

Used the transparant circles and

white inkpad for the bokeh effect.

This is how it ends up after I finished with the 

white ink. It is just more brighter then with

the watercolor paper.

I stamped on the background with one of

 the UM Botanical stamps and purple ink.

For the finished card I printed the sentiment 

using the Cardenio Modern Font.

The flower is stamped and die cuted with a circle 

punch and cut in with scissors.

In the middle all is hold together with

a colored brad that also came with the kit.

Happy Earth Day

When I opened my computer this morning

I noticed google had an image. This always means somethig

and it happens to be Earth Day today!

What a coincidence I had planned to do

some seeding with Owen today.

What a fun way to celebreate Earth Day.

We planted seeds for sunflowers.

Now we have to wait to see them grow.

But ofcourse I had to make a card too.

I got out my distress stains and papers

and gottowork:

I did the direct to paper method and

sprayed some water drops on it to.

I used broken china and the new

cracked pistachio.

And here is the finished card.

I used Club Scrap papers from my stash

(meaning I don't know from what kit)

The border and sentiment are from Take Wing

and the flower from this month Botanicals kit.
