Mojo Monday sketch #436

Here are my crds for the
sketch #436
It was such a fun sketch,
I came up with two cards.

For both cards I used Club Scrap papers
from the Crewel & Unusual February 2016 kit.
The coffee stamps are from the set Coffee Break.
The background coffee rings and beans are
from my old and much loved Mocha Java set.
The circles are punched and the cups on top have
a layer of glossy accent to make te cups look more real.

The background paper is a wonderful piece of
left over paper from the Club Scrap kit
and makes it so easy to make another card for
this sketch challenge. The cirkels and flowers
are all punched out and the sentiment is fro the
UM rubber stampos from the Crewel & Unusual kit.
The heart of the flower is a sticky pearl.

Thank you forlooking.

Club Scrap Crewel & Unusual Blog Hop

Welcome to another
This month we feature the February kit
called: Crewel & Unusual.
I hope you came over here from
and enjoyed her artwork for this kit.

When I was thinking of what to make for
this kit I was inspired by this picture:
I absolutely loved the spools that came with this kit

And here is my project:
A box with decorated spools.

I started with measuring the spools and making
a template for the box.
The box measures 4,5" x 3,5"x 3"
and is made out of heavy kraft paper that I
sprayed purple and decorated with the purple
decorated paper.
The finished box looks like this. Complete with a ribbon
from the kit and flower on top with one of the buttons
that was in the embellishment pack.

Here a close up of the top of the box.

Now move on to what is inside the box.
There are two kinds of spools.
Little cards and decorated spools.

First I show you how I made the decorated spools.
I colored the background with a stencil and purple ink.

And the top and bottom stitches are stamped
with the same purple ink.

Here you see the other two spools and how
I used some other stencils on them.

On the plain green paper I printed some sentiments
and a few vintage pictures that match the sewing theme.

Here are the finished spools from one side.
I added vintage pictures from my family.
Left is my mom, in the middle it is me and
to the rightis my mom and my grandmother.
Here the backside of the cards. I love the tassles that came with the
embellishments. When I added them to these spools it gave it even
a more vintage look. I colored the images with pencil and
here and there I added a few sticky pearls from my stash.

Now to the other spool cards:
These are little real cards you can add to a bouquet of flowers
or a little gift. They are 3x4 inch (6x4 inch folded).
You might want to find your punchboard and get
punching! I found a you tube tutorial here explaining it
all. I just made a diffrent size to fit my box.

This is a 4x6 inch card and I have made these before.
You find a complete spool card technique tutorial is here.
All you need is your enveloppe punch board.

For this card I used the deorated ivory paper
4 x 12 inch folded lengthwise in half.

The sentiment is one of the cut apparts
that came with the kit asdid the beautiful
wide red ribbon.
Here you see the way this card is standing
and really looks like a spool.

As I was unlucky that my box was totally wet when arrived,
that is why I made little things with the good paper
that was left. Club Scrap was so wonderful and send
me abox of new paper, that arrived yesterday.
 THANK YOU SO MUCH!
So expect some more crewel & unusual projects
this week. Now for more inspiration hop over to

Sunday Scrap Page: Workshop

Last week I went to a Mixed Media workshop with my daughter.
Playing with stencils, paint, gel medium, sprays, inks etc.
So we came home with lots of  papers ready to be used.
Here is the first one, that fits totally with the Club Scrap
February kit Crewel & Unusual colors. The purple
background paper is covered with the decorated scrap
paper. i cut it 11,5 x 11,5 inch so you see the purple boarder.

The numbers you see are cut-aparts from this kit
and the fleur des lis is a stamp by Michael Strong.
you find it here. I stampedit with dark purple ink
and cut it with the matching metal die that you find here.

Here I used the smallest of the coffee cup stamps
by Michael Strong, cut out with scissors.

All the stamped images are stamped onpaper that was
covered with ink first and next decorated with a stencil.
The word workshop is printed on this paper.

We had a great day together.
Have a creative day!

Saturday Sketch card: Mojo Monday 435

Today my card used the Michael Strong Lily stamp.
It comes with a background stamp and the flower.
You find the stamp here.

I used the stamps to create the 435 sketch card

This background stamp is stamped with Versamarkink
on kraft paper and embossed with white embossing powder.

Then colored with candied apple distress ink.
When done with coloring take a paper towel to rub
the ink of the embossed lines.

For the center piece I stamped the flower and embossed
with copper embossing powder. The floweris colored with
mustered seed distress ink and shabby shutters in the heart
of the flower. The blotches are on purpose on the flower
with a wet brush. You see those often on lilies.
The birthday sentiment is fromMike's other set called

Thank you forlooking.

Color Throwdown #380

I love the color combo that I noticedon the
ColorThrowdown Blog.Perfectfor my Club Scrap
papers and stamps.

Fun color challenge at this  bog:
with Club scrappapers and stamps.

I stamped the flower two times.
Ones in grey and once in red.
I cut the red one and left of some of the leaves.
You find the flower stampon the Weathered Florals
stamp sheet here.

The sentiment is from the Club Scrap Celebration
kit from January as well as the swirl stamp.

Thank you for looking.

Mojo Mondanday #434 and Crewel & Unusual

I just had to do another card with the
You can see my other one HERE
and it is totally different!
The papers and stamps I used to make this card
are all from the Club Scrap Crewel & Unusual
Febuary kit, dat you can see here.
For the back panel I colored the ivory paper
with shabby shutters distress paintand
dried it with a heat gun.

Next I put the paper in a box and took this
Club Scrap leave stencil and added it on top
of the painted paper. Then I sprayed it with
mustered seed distress spray.

after taking of the stencil it looked like this.
When dried it was a little lighter.
With some dark purple ink around the border
of the panel I layered it to the decorated
purple paper.
Here you see the top of the card with the sentiment.
A stamp from the unmounted rubber stamp sheet
that goes with this kit.

The bottom part of the kit is decorated with
one of the cut aparts. The flower is punched and stamed
with a stampfrom the Weatered Florals stamp sheet.
The button also comes with the embellisments of this kit.

The stamp sheet alsocomes with a very cute
handmade stamp for the back ofyour card, where
you can add your own name.
