Hip hip hooray: Colin and Aiden 1 year!

How quickly a year flies by!
So many wonderful moments we shared
with the twin in their first year.
It will be such a joy to see them grow up.

Congratulations
Colin
and
Aiden
and have a wonderful
1st birthday party!

xxx Opa and Oma

Of  course I made a card and
I had so much fun making these box frame
cards for the Club Scrap blog hop,
and so I used it for this card too.
You find the instructions here.
Last Tuestday I made this picture for
the card. This time I used Stampin'Up! papers.
punches and stamps. This is what I used:
owl builder punch,
balloon punch
number thinlits
Balloon Celebrations stamp set
and Number of Years stampset
I also did a bit of doodling on the card.

As the baby anouncement card had owls,
I wanted to do them for their 1st birthday too.
I love my owl punch.

As there are 2 birthday boys, it is twice as happy
to celebrate!

And this is how the card can stand up.

I enter my card to the  linky party
on the D.L.ART blog for the
theme is anything goes.

Thank you for looking!

Scrap June Boardwalk Blog Hop

Welcome to the
were we show you our projects
made with the Club Scrap June kit.

I hope you arrived here from
and seen her inspiration for this lovely kit.

My project for today is the wonderful box frame card.
I have seen these around lately and  just love looking at them,
so why not try these myself! I started making 3 of
them in red of white and blue.

So here is the tutorial:

To make a box you need a 12 x12 inch piece of paper
and a score board (if you have one). Score all sides
at: 1 - 1 1/2 - 2 1/2 - 3 inch.
Now score at one side of the border only until the 2nd scoreline
at 4 and 8 inch. Now turn the paper 180 degrees and do the
same. So this is only at 2 sides.

Take a scissor and start cutting the 3 x 3 inch scquares at all corners.

For the final cut, co to the 4 inch line and cut untilthe
2nd score line, then cut diagonally until the 3rd line.
Do the same at the 8 inch score and on the other side of the paper.

Now you can fold all the score lines towards the inside
and you see the box starting to form.
Best way to glue is first to glue the long parts
and then the part with the corner.
To make these boxes standing up,
you need a strip of paper: 6 x 12 inch and fold
at 6 inch. Glue half of the card to the back of the box
and now you have a way to have the box stand up.
You can also use this as a card to write somithing
for the person you give this box too.

Now you want to see the result:

Here are all 3 together. All pictures inside
the box are 4 x 4 inch and are taken on
the beach of Noordwijk, The Netherlands.

Box 1: I just love the crab that came with
this kit as a rubber stamp. So much fun to
use.I added some glossy accent to his body
to give him a shiny shield.
And if you have had a look at my blog yesterday,
You have seen this as a sneak peek. It is hidden
behind this crabby box to wish you all
a very happy Summer and to show you
how you can use this box as a card.
You add the image to the backof the stand.

Box 2: swimming in the see fits
perfect with the vintage swimming suits.
For the Artist challege there were handmade embellishments
and here is another of my button flowers.
 You see the instructions here.

Box 3: Picture perfect.
I love this picture and I just created this 3d scene
with elements of the kit.The beach chair is a die I have.

Thank you somuch for looking and i hope you
will also hop over to
and see what she has come up with for you,

Thank you for looking
and have a creative day!

Sunday scrap page: open house

Happy Sunday to you all!
My scrap page today is about an open house I gave last week.
I flyered around the neighborhood and hoped people
would be interested in learning about the stamping technique.
I did this for two days and a few people came. Will doit again
in September and hopefully some more people will come.

For my page I used Club Scrap papers
and Michael Strong stamps.

OK, there is a little coffee in the background,
that is because of the title I gave the open house: Coffee & Card.
I used the coffee steam stamp for decoration.
Here you seeme ready just before and it gives you a
little view of my craft room.

I thought the  Scrap hypno paper was fun to use as a background.

And because it is an open house, Mike's house stamp
was perfect tu use here. On all the doors you see in the page
I added a little pearly doorknob.
On the journaling part, there is the house again and here
the door opens and inside you read "welcome".

Thank you very much for looking
and have a wonderful and creative week!

Saturday card: sorry more coffee!

Ok,last two coffee cards (for the time being;-)
Now i have cleaned my deskfrom all the coffee stuff,
so next will be something different.

This first card was inspired by the cards Kathy Rossiter
made as a card captain this week. I am not sure how she
made all the beautiful borders. Mine just became more of a
mandala kind of card. Here I used Michael Strong's
teapot stamp and the smaller coffee cup.
The sentiment is by Newton's Nook.

And this is a totally different card. The base of this card is
cut with a silhoutte cameo. The yellow and the dark brown
part are cut seperately and then glued together. Then I decorated
the card with a sentiment from a Verve Stamp set
and Michael Strong's teapot.I stamped the teapot in black,
than scanned it in and printed it reversed on orange paper,
so I cut make it of good use here to make it look like
it poured the coffee into the cup.

With the sithouette I also cut a coffee bean stencil,
that I used to decorate the inside.

Thank you for looking!

Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop:Day 8 last one :-(

And then the last day of the
So today I have to finish my tag book.
If you have missed the start of the making of thisbook,
you can go back and see it HERE.

So here the pagewith the last tag.
For this i used the freebie image found on

The envelopes are decorated with butterflies
and sentiments fromCreate with TLC. This
is also a freebie on the blog HERE.
The cups are the freebie from STAMlorations.

And here is the tag out of the pocket.
Vintage photo and worn lipstick distress ink and  stain
are the main colors of this tag.

Before adding the elements I also used a coffee stain embossing
folder on top of the colored background.

The honeycomb die cut is one of the new
Tim Holtz thinlits. The flowers are also colored with
the distress stain.
Now the book is nearly done.
These are the inside pages on the back.
I took some pictures in the garden this week
and this is the result. I used Verve stamps
on thes pages.

This is the back of the book, with Tim Holtz stamps and
embossing folder and a Verve Stamp freebie sentiment.

And  to end this last day of the  Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop
I have a little Giveaway
