Club Scrap Spring Chorus Blog Hop

Here we are again with our monthly
blog hop and this time it is
Spring Chorus, the April kit.
I hope you came her after seeing
the beautiful craft of Tricia
on her blog HERE.
If you lose your way, you can always go back to
where all the blogs are listed.
I have an explosion box for you this time.
Spring usually is an explosion of
flowers, only this year it is still very
cold and all flowers are late.
So thanks for paper flowers!!
When you take of the lid of this box, you see layers of
paper, where you can add photo's amd i want to share
with you how to make this box.
You need 3 layers of paper:
1. 12x12 inch
2. 10,5 x 10,5 inch
3. 9 x 9 inch

and this is the lid made out of 8 x 8 inch paper.
The lid is scored all around at 2 inch.
And you can see where to cut, so you can
glue the border to make the lid fit the box.

Now how to score the papers:
1. score around at 4 inch
2. score at 3,5 inch
3. score at 3 inch
As you can see on the picture you have to cute out
4 of the square corner pieces.

Now you can start decorating:
This is the outside paper.
I used the stencil and light green acrylic paint.
I also stamped on it with white ink
and the musical notes UM stamp.

On the other side I made triangular pockets
out of the square corners I cut out of the
2nd layer.
The 2nd layer is decorated paper
and leav it like this for photo's.
The 3rd layer is stamped with 3 colors
of green and a sentiment.
When all layers are on top of each other,
the last layer is the one with the flowers.
For this you need a square of 2,75 x 2,75 inch.

For the flowers you need a transparent
plastic sheet: 4x 0.5 x 3,75 inch.
Fold half an inch on both ends. on top one way
and on the bottom the other way.

Make 4 slits with an exacto knife in the paper
square. Through these holes you fit the four
stems of the flowers.

For the flowers I used the cut outs that  came
with the kit. I samped musical notes on the
flowers with blue ink and yellow around the border.
The gemstones in the heart of the flower
also came with the kit.
Here a close up of the lid of the box.
The text is one of the stickers that came with the box.

Around the lid there are the ribbons and the jute.

Here you see the layers of the box.
The squares that were cut of the 3rd layer
are used as tags in the corner pockets.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog.
Hope you found some inspiration.

As this is a hop, I think it is time to move on
to Kay, who as onther great keepsake for you:

Have a creative day!

Thanks for creating some flowers for the springtime. You have had the same weather in the Netherlands, as we are still dealing with snow here in Wisconsin! Great project, Hetty!

Oh Hetty, you have made such a beautiful project! The little details of the bird on the cover along with the flowers popping out in the center is so clever and creative. Love how you used the burlap fibers around the cover and your use of the mask. Wonderful!!
