Michael Strong Zoom Class: Animals

Welcome Crafty Friends,

Last night (for me, but morning in San Diego California)
tere was the monthly wonderful zoom class by
Michael Strong.
You find all the stamps I used for this class here:

Remember, I do not get a package of cards, but digital
files with measurements and pictures. I use what i have in my stash.
This class was about 5 different animal stamps designed by
Michael strong himself.

Card #1 Giraffe
I stamped the giraf on white paper and scanned it.
This way I could manipulate the image in photoshop
(with the help of a collegue). Then I printed the
image on orange paper. The border is a picture I found
on internet.

The leaf is a stamp that comes with the giraffe stamp set.
Here the inside of the card.
Card #2 Seahorse
Here I stamped the seahorse on blue paper and colored them
with pencils. The border is made with 2 different sizes of
punches, hologram stickers and blue gemstones.
Inside the card there is a piece of light blue paper.
Card #3 Pony
This stamp with black ink on white paper and colored with pencils.
Next I scanned the pony before cutting out.
I used a piece of a horizontal rectale and enlarged this to make
up the border.  The tiny beads are on a piece of wax thread with
nots to hold the beads in place.

I printed the border twice and used it also on the inside of the card.
Card #4 Panda
The size of this card is 4 x 7 inch.
The background panel si stamped with the bamboo stamp
from the panda set with red ink.

5 Pand's are glued to a accordeon folded strip
and are hidden behind this flap. The tssel pulls out the
strip of panda's. I made the tassel with embroidery floss.

The decoration on the flap is 3 punched out flowers
and a circle stamp with chineese characters (embossed
in gold and by Club Scrap).

For the inside I used another stamp from the set.
A row of tiny panda's. Also great to use on the
envelop.

Card #5 Elephant
Of couse again started this card with stamping the elephant and
used pencils to color the image. After cutting out, I put it asside to
make the card. The size of the card is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 inch.
Embossed pannel on the front with punched out flowers and a
tiny golden gemstone.

Inside a small panel decorated with the flower that comes
with the stamp set and also colored with pencil.
Finishing the card with 3 flowers in the same colors as
on the front side of the card.

Thank you so much for looking and the next zoom class
will be purple cards on Saturday September 24th.
If you are interrested to take part in the class feel free
to email Michael Strong: stamper.strong@gmail.com

Fun with Distress

I keep on making my #stayathome cards
with the sentiments of 21 years of Club Scrap.

I have been watching all of the Tim Holtz
and have been inspired a lot as well
as learning a lot.

Today I started with a few colors of distress
Oxide spray for the background.

Next comes the texture paste through the holes
of the Fizz stencil (Club Scrap). When the stencil
is off, I sprinkled the paste with the new distress glaze.

Here you see  the background after the paste has dried
 and is heat embossed.

The sentiment is from Rhapsody (3/2007), a vintage
kit from Club Scrap as well as the background stamp.

Decoration with beats and a metal coin (with
distress glaze). In the old days we got a little
box of beads and findings with the scrap kit.
Still have some left.

Thank you for looking,
stay safe
and keep crafting!

Club Scrap sentiment 3

Today I found this cute little
gift card box from way back.
I was thinking, schall I keep it
or throw it out? NO!!
I will recreate it for today
and so here is the result!

I found this Club Scrap sentiment.
It came with a kit called Memoirs 07/2009

The papers and background stamps are from
another kit called Henna 05/2009
The sticker decorations are from Welcome 04/2011.
Yes i love to mix and match my kits!

Here you see the closed box.
I decorated the box with flowers
and the sentiment is stmped with
a clear alphabet from my stash.
I do have a template of this box for you HERE.
I have made these boxes before and you can
see my other versions
HERE and HERE.
On the top of the box I made a handle with
little beads on a piece of wire.
I guess now you want to see the inside:

For the flowers on the outside
and the little houses on the inside I have used
paper punches, but you also see tiny houses
made out of stickers. These came with the
Welcome kit.

Well, that was it for today!
Hope you liked it.

Thanks for look,ng
stay safe
and be creative!

Simon Says: Add Some Red

Here a tag for 2 challenges:
1. Add Some Red on the

2. Make a project with the 2012
paint resist technique in the

As i do not have the white paint (now I need it!!)
I used white embossing powder after I stamped
the hearts and the text with versamark.

After the embossing powder was heated I colored
my tag with candied apple red oxide distress ink.
The heart and the love are cut out with dies
by Stampin'Up!

Here you see the finished tag all done up.

I used the rosette and the Valentine tiny
envelop on top of the heart.

"YOU"was cut out one of the alphabet strips and
the borders were added with stapples to the tag.
In the middle if the strips I added waxed black thread
with some red glass beads between knots.

Thank you for looking and
have a creative day!

Club Scrap January Artist Challenge: Faux Batik

Welcome to the Club Scrap January
Artist Team Challenge and
this month we share with you cards
with a Faux Batik technique
I hope you have arrived here from
Pam's Blog
and see what wonderful projects she has
come up with.

There are various way of doing this technique
and I used one of the tutorials from
Splitcoaststampers here.

And here are my cards:

For this hop I made 4 cards in the same batik technique
with various stamps.

This card is made with mostly this months papers
and stamps from the Color Me Happy kit,
but the pot and the sentiment are from
April 2009 Pure and Simple. I love using
distress inks for this way I could also sprinkle
some waterdrops and give the background
an even more batik look.

Here all papers and stamps from the January
Color Me Happy kit. The enamal dots are from
my stash.

The next two cards are made with the base
from the Office kit in combination with
the Color Me Happy kit.
To be honest this was one of the first trials
of this technique and I almost discarded it.
But then When I added the sentiment it looked
ready to use. The leather ribbon and beads
are from my Club Scrap stash.
This card is made with one of my favorite
(vintage wooden) stamp, the tulips.

This was my contribution, but there is
more inspiration. Hop over to
Jennifer's Blog
and see her awesome artwork.

If you hapen to loose your way,
you can always go back to the
Club Scrap Blog
and see all the designer's link addresses.

Thank you for looking
and have a creative day!

Voor het raam/ At the window

When we light the candles, we do this in front of the window. I think this stamp is just too sweet. He is from Stampa Rosa and is called Too many potato Latkes. Potato latkes is a special recipe we make for Hanukkah. Paper and sentiment are by Club Scrap.

TV Weekly

Ketting en armand....he.....kralen rijgen???!!! Necklace and bracelet..........oy......beading???!!! Yes! Now there is not only craft tv on Friday but also jewelery on Wednesday at TV Weekly. They make beading look so easy! Luckily I had some beads at home and over the internet I found CreaDream in the Netherlands bringing these neat silver hearts and lock to my home. Stitch Bound Book Album

Today I started my Club Scrap friends-booklet. For this I used the description by Kay Williamson in the Scrap Rap from September. Paper is from the Be Still kit and the binding of the booklet is done with beads. The metal tin was in de senior kit. I still have to finish the inside of the booklet (but not tonight) so that I will show another day.
