Irisfolding Dragon

Today I have made this card with an irisfolded dragon.
Irisfolding is such a great technique and really easy, even though
it looks so complicated. You just need a few strips of
folded paper, some cellotape and a template.

I have a friend who makes the most wonderful irisfolding
templates. You find the dragon template HERE,

If you never tried this technique but would, then I have a turorial
and an easy template for you HERE.

I used different shades of gold for the dragon
and a brad for the eye.

The background paper was first embossed, before
I cut out the shape of the dragon.

The sentiment added to this card is by
Art Neko and is the Birthday sentiment with kanji
and you can find it HERE.

Thank you for looking
and have a creative day!

Elephants

Today we are celebrating
Michael Strong's
Cloisonne Elephants Rubber Stamp Set
Don't you love elephants?
Well if you do, see what I have come up with.

I have made an irisfolding  and stamping card for you.
On top of the card you see how I cut out the large elephant
and used it as a template for irisfolding.
You find the template below:
Save this template with the right mouse click
to your own computer and print to use it.
Here you see the finished irisfolding again.
Where it says A and B on the template, I used a large
strip of paper to cover the paws and the tail.
You can do this with a contrasting color if you like.

The sentiment you see here is by Club Scrap.

If you have never done any irisfolding, or
need a refresh course take a look here for my tutorial:

The botom of the card is with the little elephants,
stamped in versamark and embossed with copper
embossing powder. Around the border of the card
I stamped the flower in vintage distress ink.

Here an other sample with irisfolding.
Stamped in black on one side of the card
and in irisfolding technique on the other side.
The sentiment here is also by Club Scrap.

 Have a creative day!

en het patroon vind je op het blog van Bergkaarten.
De tekst is een stempel van Hero Arts.
Of course I cannot stop using my coffee cup tha is made
by Michael Strong. With a cup of coffee one needs some cake
and this irisfolded cupcake pattern you can find on my friend
Bergkaarten's blog for free.
The sentiment is a stamp by Hero Arts.

and be creative.

Are we going to make it? Yes it is a perfect dream, but now they just have to do it. If the Dutch team wins, I do have some wonderful blog candy for you, so it will be a good reason to come back here.

This page is made with Club Scrap Expressions paper and Michael Strongs star stamp. The Dutch text came out of the newspaper and the shirt is done in irisfolding technique.

Frame en irisvouwen/ Frame and irisfolding

Irisfolding is a technique that intrigues a lot of people. But when you know howt, it is so EASY! On my blog you have seen many samples, but here is another tutorial on how to do it. You don't need anything special.
I used:
Michael Strongs frame stamp
Card paper from Paper Temptress
folding paper from stash (origamipaper, wrapping paper, glossy magazine paper all will do as long as it is thin and not heavy paper - printer paper in color is great)
just ordinairy cellotape
and things like a pencil, double sided tape, scissors, craft knife and ruler.

For this pattern, you need 4 colors of folding paper. You cut them into strips of 1 inch (2,5 cm).

Take each strip and fold it lengthwise (hotdog fold).

Print the folding pattern. Make sure it fits the rectangle of the stamp.
(Save the pattern to your computer by first clicking on it and than use the right mouse button on the pattern to save it on your pc for printing)
Stamp and emboss (in gold) the frame stamp of Michael Strong. Cut out the middle rectangle with a craft knife and ruler. or cut with scissors.

Tape the pattern to your table or craft surface. On top you tape the frame with the
FRONT (embossed) side towards the table!

On the pattern you see numbers.
1-5-9-13-17-21-25 color A
2-6-10-14-18-22-26 color B
3-7-11-15-19-23-27 color C
4-8-12-16-20-24-28 color D

Take the first color and cut the strip so it coversfrom side to side over the pattern. You lay it on top of the pattern and the frame with the folded side along the line of nr 1 and tape it down with cellotape.

Just follow the pattern: color B at 2, color C at 3 and color D at 4.

This is how it looks at the front side of the card.

Now you take color A again on 5, B on 6, C on 7 and D on 8.
Go on like this.

It should look like this on the front side of your card.

When you have finished with all strips, there is still one whole in the middle left.

Now your work looks like this:

Now you take a piece of holographic paper or you can stamp a word on a piece of paper and add this.

I like the holographic paper and you just tape it to the back of the card, covering all of the whole.

Use some double sided tape to add your irisfold to the card.

Here is the finished card.

Bavaria Bikini

The whole world has seen the Dutch Bavaria Babes in their orange dress. They were taken by the South African police because this was advertisement that was not allowed at the Football championchip. Well, Bavaria came uo with something new: the Bavaria Bikini. You can wear it under your clothes, support the Dutch Team and no one will see. This way we can send positive vibes to "our boys" and help them beat the Urugay Team.
This card is made with Club Scrap papers and stamp and a star punch.
