Club Scrap technique of the month April

Every month there is a challenge on the Club Scrap blog

with a technique of the month.

One of the members of the Artist Team will pick a technique

and make sample cards for that technique.

This month it is my turn and I have chosen 

The Carpet Tape Chronicles

as the technique of the month April.

There are several video's in the Club Scrap archive

and different techniques one can do with carpet tape.

but here on my own blog I will share some more ideas.

Today I show you alsohow you can do the

herringbone technique in another way,if you just don't

happen to have carpet tape at hand,but you do have 

washi tape! in the 50s collection there was a yellow roll

of washi tape and with some of my own stash I made

the same herringbone technique with the tape:

Use the tape exactly as you would do

with the paper strips.

You don't have to cut them of,you can 

easity tape them to the back,just at the

corners you have to give them a little cut.

What makes your card extra interesting is using 

an embossing folder. Now I found this fun 

kitchen embossing folder matching the 50s Kitchen

theme from last month.

You can deboss the background and leave as

it came out after running it through your embossing machine.

Or you can emboss and use some ink

on the raised emboss part to make them extra visable.

Her is the finished card with a fun little

charm frommy stash and one of the

cut apart sentiments fromthe kit.

For this card I used the digital 50s Kitchen to

print the sentiment.I did not want to cover

alot of the background, for it looked so nice.

Nog een schetskaartje/ Another sketch card

Hier is mijn kaartje voor de Techno Stamper schets 107. Papier en tekststempel zijn van Club Scrap en de vogels zijn van Michael Strong. Op de achtergrond heb ik de herringbone techniek gedaan en daarna nog even door de cuttlebug. Here my sketch card for Techno Stamper 107. Paper and sentiment are from Club Scrap and bird stamps are from Michael Strong. In the background I did herringbone technique and ran it through the cuttlebug too.

September

Is het alweer september? Wat gaat een jaar toch snel. Vandaag een pagina voor mijn kalender gemaakt met Club Scrap Apothecary papier en Michael Strong stempels. In de achtergrond zie je ook een stukje herringbone techniek. Is it already September? Oh my, how this year flies! Today I made a new page for my calendar with Club Scrap Apothecary papers and Michael Strong stamps. In the background you see some herringbone technique.

More 4th of July cards

Papers and stamps are all by Club Scrap. I used Herringbone technique and the weaving technique. The picture of the lady I googled on the internet (search: vintage 4th of July).

Visgraat technique/ Herringbone technique

Ik kan er maar niet mee ophouden. Die visgraat techniek is gewoon zoooooooo leuk! Heb je al naar het filmpje gekeken? Het is echt heel erg makkelijk. Op de linker kaart heb ik het Club Scrap papier gecombineerd met Hero Arts stempels. Ook heb ik de visgraat techniek nog eens even door de cuttlebug gehaald voor extra robot effect. Een beetje donkerblauwe inkt er over heen gehaald. De rechterkaart is ook met Club Scrappapier gemaakt, alleen de hond is van Michael Strong gekleurd met copic stiften.

This herringbone technique is so great to do, I just can't seem to stop! Have you watched the video? You should, than you see how easy it is. On the left card I combined Club Scrap paper with Hero Arts stamps. I run the herringbone technique trough the cuttlebug for some extra robot effect. I added some dark blue ink. The right card is a combination of Club Scrap paper and sentiment with the dog by Michael Strong. I colored the dog with copic markers.

Club Scrap roos/rose

Beide kaarten zijn gemaakt met Club Scrap papier en stempels. De linker kaart is gemaakt met een van de nieuwe technieken van de Technique Junkie nieuwsbrief die heet pyramide stempelen. De rechter kaart is gemaakt in de visgraat techniek van Club Scrap met de restjes van de linker kaart. Both cards are made with Club Scrap papers and stamps. The left card is made in one of the new techniques from the lates Technique Junkie newsletter called: pyramide technique. The right card is with the herringbone technique that is shown in the Club Scrap Cinema, made with the leftovers from the right card.

Nieuwe haring/ New Herring

Daar is 'ie weer: de nieuwe haring en hij is echt heerlijk! Natuurlijk foto's gemaakt en geschapped op papier van Club Scrap (concrete Jungle) en wat past hier nu beter bij als de vis van Michael Strong en de visgraat techniek van Club Scrap?

Here you see a Dutch custom: eating the new herring! And of course I had to make some pictures. I scrapped it with the new Club Scrap paper (Concrete Jungle). And the fish of Michael Strong and the new herringbone technique fits perfectly.
