TH September tag

 Another month has gone by 

and Tim holtz has posted a new tag

with tutorial and challenged all of us

to add our own version of his tag.

 Here is my version of the

September tag. I choose to use Tim's 

mini phone die and not the typewriter.

 On top i used the T charm (also for telephone)

and I added glossy accent on top
of the painted form to give it the real

old bakelite telephone look.

The imnage i used is by Create with TLC,

I love the vintage image. I pinned some vintage looking

brads on the picture. I used some wire

from the phone to the earpiece,.I wirlt it around

a thin pencil an it gave the phone an even more real look.

 And here is the bottom of my tag. Behind the words 

you sea a tine bit out of a real phonebook.

(I use pages out of an old phonebook

underneath my stamping!) On the dial I wrote

the numbers and some more wire.

Vandaag is het mijn beurt om iets op het blog van de Technique Junkies te laten zien en ik heb gekozen voor het dubble embossen van metaal. Een goede tip is het begruik van een blikje. Vooral de goedkope blikjes doen het goed, want daarvan is het metaal zachter. Je moet in de winkel de blikjes maar eens bekijken. Er zijn hele mooie kleuren bij. De kaart hier op mijn blog is gemaakt met een stempel van Viva Las Vegas en een tekst van Tim Hioltz.

Today it is my turn to show something on the Technique Junkie's Design Blog and i choose to do the double metal embossing. For all of you who love to try metal in their embossing folders, I have a tip for you today: Go shopping!


When you go to the supermarket and do your regular shopping, take another look at the soda cans. Some have beautiful colors (and even the drinks inside are nice too!!) . When you are home and have finished your drink, take some garden scissors and cut of the top and the bottom of the can. Now you can flatten te metal and lay it inside your embossing folder.You can also use the metal side (inner side of the can), but for the double metal embossing, the outside is great. Once you have run it trough the cuttlebug, you take some sandpaper and sand your metal before you run it trough the cuttlebug again with another folder. I used my asian flowers and swiss dots folder for this one. And one more tip: the ceapest cans work the best, for their metal is much softer!

Metal look

Als je geen metaal hebt en toch gecharmeerd bent van de metaal uitstraling, zou je het volgende kunnen doen:

If you like the metal look, but have no metail available and no tools, you might want to try this: 1. Neem een stukje papier (maakt niet uit wat) en haal deze door de Xyron. Heb je dit apparaat
niet, dan kun je ook dubbelzijdig plakband gebruiken (kijk hier ook:

1. Take a piece of paper (any paper is ok) and run it trough your Xyron. If Take a piece of you don't have this machine you can use double sided tape (take a look here:

2. Neem een stuk aluminium folie en leg dit op de plakkant van het papier. Druk het overal

goed aan.

2. Take a piece of aluminum foil and put it on the sticky side of the paper. Press well everywhere.

3. Kleur je aluminium folie met alcohol inkt.

3. Decorate your paper with alcohol ink.

4. Gebruik meerdere kleuren.

4. Use multiple colors.

5. Neem nu je cuttlebug en de door jouw gewenste embossing folder.

5. Take out your cuttlebug and the embossing folder you want to use.

6. Het resultaat als je papier uit de cuttlebug komt.

6. Here is the result when your paper comes out of the cuttlebug.

En dit is de kaart die ik er mee gemaakt heb. Papier van Club Scrap evenals de tekst. Het hart is van Michael Strong.

Workshop

Heb gisteren in de winkel van Joan Gevaert een geweldige - hele dag - workshop gedaan. Werken met metaal, grungepaper en paper veneer techniek. Alles even leuk. Hier zie je het resultaat. Als je op de foto klikt, kun je alles van dichtbij bekijken. Yesterday I went to the shop of Joan Geveart and did a wonderful - all day - workshop.
