March Tag: Faux Mosaic

Here is my March tag for the 12 tag  challenge

Every month he shares a tutorial
and we can link our tag to his blog.
Many variations of the same theme,
this is so inspirational.

This month it is a faux mosaic theme.
I changed the butterflies into birds.
Made my tag more of a spring theme.

Here you can see what I have used to make
this tag. Stamps, birdcage sizzix die, sunray small
embossing folder, Key lime pie glimmer mist, distress ink,
tool, stain and blending tool. Inside the nest is added
a little raffia and on the metal flowers a green gemstone.
I also enter this card for the Faux Technique challenge on the

Halloween around the corner 4

Suddenly I had a fun idea of making a bat
Below you can see how i constructed this. I also
used the SU! bat punch for the body.
On the body I alsi stamped a little.
I used black paper and silver embossing powder.

For the background and the inside
I used Tim Holtz new stamp set, that
coordinates with an embossing folder.

This is the inside of the card with a
creepy plastic spider to hold the card.
The card is a Twisted Easel card and is one
of 70 projects on the new to be released
3D Fun Folds CD by the Technique Junkies.
You find all detailed  {HERE}.

Halloween around the corner

With Halloween around the corner it is
so much fun to play with my Tim Holtz stuff.
His blog is so inspiring, you just have
to create something yourself.

For this card, I used the new Halloween stamps and
embossing folder. Also the witch die (bat) and the long
rosette sizzix die.

Fot the inside I used the raven and cat die
(from my friend! thank you!!)
and the inside sentiment is a stamp from Great Impressions.

On the outside I made a rosette with scrap paper.
On top is the bat that is decorated with glossy accent.
The 3 colors of bakers twine is from Sew easy.
More tomorrow!

Emboss or Die

JAAAAA!

YESSSSSS!
The new cd isby the Technique Junkies is here: Emboss or die! I love the title. How can one live without the cuttlebug... I thought I could, but now that I have it, I cannot live without using it. So many wonderful ways of using it and it is all on one CD! Here is one of the techniques called "Cuttlequilt". And I guess the name says it all.

What I like about this technique is that you can use all the little pieces that are lying around.
Or all those background try-outs that you haven't used yet. Here is what you can do with it.
If you want to know exactly how to do this, well, than you have to order the CD.

Vlinderstempel is van smARTworks.
En heb ik je nu lekker gemaakt om die cd te kopen?
Alle informatie  en hoe te bestellen, vind je HIER.

And did I wet your appetite for this new CD?

Dude Time Doodles new release BLOG HOP

I guess you arrived here from Ruth's blog
and are dying to know what new stamp I have on my blog
for the
Well, this is rather fishy!
It is Ollie Octopus and he is so much
fun to use for all kinds of occasions.
Like for a love card. He has so many arms,
woudn't it be great to be hugged by 8 arms?
So much love around you.
For this card I also used a Martha Steward
border punch, some heart nestabillities and a
text by Create with TLC.
The little hearts have been run trough the cuttlebug.

But I have some more ideas for you.
I came across another blog with
a wonderful idea for the octopus.
Take a look her at Mel's blog:
So what you see in the window is hairgel with stickles
to give the impression of water.
The background paper is made with watercolor paint
(the cheap kind your children use).
When the paint is dry, stamp bubbles with versamark
and use clear embossing posder of white embossing powder.
Bubble stamps are by smARTworks.
When finished heating the embossing powder
color again with watercolor paint.
When everything is dry, paper is run through
the cuttlebug.
When you open the card you see Ollie is
colored with copic markers.
On the top of the card as well as on the inside
you see some sentiments by Create with TLC.
Here you see a close up of the window with the hairgel.

Michael Strong BLOG HOP

Blog Hop

Theme: Wedding/Valentine
Here we are with another circular blog hop
with Michael Strong stamps.
You came here from
and here is some more inspiration for you.
Just couldn't resist making a card for each theme.
One for a wedding and one for Valentine.
But....
they are also the same card, just a different
color and a different sentiment.
Here is the wedding card:

I took out all my tools:
the heart is cut out with the cricut (Storybook)
the background is embossed through the cuttlebug
the sentiment is on a cut out die with a nestabillity

The stamps I used are the mini flower
and the mini bird embossed in white
on white paper.
The sentiment is printed with the computer.

For the Valentine card I did everything the same:

only in red and gold, instead
of white and gold.

For the sentiment I used Michael's word stamp and the
alphabet stamps.

As this is a blog hop there is some more inspiration
