Club Scrap Blog Hop: Navigation

Welcome to the last Club Scrap blog hop of 2015.
I hope you arrived at my blog from
with her wonderful projects.
As you know all the bloggers are always listed
on the main Club Scrap Blog

The kit of this month is called Navigation and
so it is all about boats. As you see the above picture,
that is what I see from my top window! It is
Lake Westend and we do have a boat. It is
in winter storage now, but during the season
we float about and I like to keep a journal as
to when and where we go. This paper was just
perfect to make a boat journal for next year!
Here you see the finished journal.
It meaures 6"x 4,5"and I made a template for
you on how I folded the outside.
You need a piece of 6"x 12"to make the
cover of the album.

(click on the photo for the larger version)
score the page at 4,5- 5,5 - 10 - 11.
In between the 4,5 and 5,5 inch you make the holes
that will be used to fasten the inside pages.

I used 3 times three folded pages for the inside.
6x 5,5"x 8,5"and

3 x 5,5" 12".This is the middle page in each signature.
Score this at 4,25 and 8,5. The extra 3,5 is used
to make a pocket
by folding this towardsthe inside.
I did not want to fasten the pockets with double sided tape
(for usually that opens after while when you add things
inside) soi choose to sew it, each pocket in a different
stich.I thought it looked fun with the boat theme.
Here he see all the pages inside the journal.
I made a pocket on the front inside
and on the back where I could add tags to go
on the pages, when we will be going with the boat.

Here are 3 tags ready to be used. They will be added on
the page when done.

I did not totally finish the pages of the book, that will
happen when I use it on our the trips that we will take,
depending on what we do and wherewe go.

Just a little decoration here and there.
This is the complete outside of the journal. In the middle
you see where all the scrap floss comes together from sewing
in the pages. I used some beads from a previous kit
for decoration.
On the front I added also a picture of our boat.
We have it already for 15 years.
On the front I printed out:
2016-boat journal - Onyva.
"Onyva" is the name of our boat and is French for:
"Let's go".
The anchor came with the kit, just added the steering
wheel on top.

And this is the last card: so easy to make with just
the cut up part, a piece of lovely scrapbook paper,
a fiber and a printed sentiment.

I wish you all a safe and creative journey into 2016.
May you be blessed with health and happiness
and wonderful friendships!

Please hop on to
and see what she has in store for you.
See you next year!

Club Scrap Artist Team:Minion inspiration

Are you addicted to the Minions?
Well, the Club Scrap Artist team is.

This month we were asked to make something
inspired by these pictures:

I love those litte figures and just had to go and see
the new movie. Did you see it? I LOVED it.
When you come out of the theatre you feel happy.

You did NOT see it?
Well here is the trailer:

Now what to make.....?
That was more of a problem. Ok, my inspiration came
from the colors and the warm island feeling.
In such a climate you need ice cream or a popsicle.
So I came up with this popsicle booklet.

I used this image as a template:
I took a strip of 6x12 inch CS Orient Express paper
and devided into 3 parts of 4 inch.

I traced the popsicle template at the beginning and the end
for cutting and left the middle straight to fold harmonica wize
every 1/2 inch.

The shaped paged are papers
from Orient Express, Wild Flower (brown) and
Bold Blooms (pink).

The pages are decorated with different Club Scrap stencils.
The chocolate topping is glazed with
glossy accent.
And for the wooden sticks I took
a piece of grey board and painted it with
tea die acrylic paint. Then I took a Tim Holtz
woodgrain stencil and vintage photo ink to
make it look likea wooden stick.
I used all kinds of sentiments from different
Club Scrap kits on the left page of the bookltet.
This one is from
Sprinkles um stamps 2012.
I went through all my photo's to
find pictures for this book.
I also used a few stickers frommy stash.
This sentiment is from Club Scraps Desitations kit.

This sentiment is from 50's Kitchen kit.

Here you see the front and the back of the booklet.
I just ha to add at least one Minion.

Want to see what the others have come up with?
You find them here:

Thanks for looking!

Have a creative day!

Club Scrap Take Wing Blog Hop

Welcome to another fantastic
This time you see the use of the September
papers and stamps from the Take Wing kit.

Have you come over from Tricia's wonderful
blog with all her great ideas?
Well if you get lost, you can always find all the partipants

I also have a sidestep on the
Technique Junkies Design Blog
with a technique card:

So here is my special project
that I want to share with you.
It is not my own idea, it was a friend
that showed this booklet to me
and I knew right away I wanted to make
this booklet for my retreat memory book.

I will be at the October retreat and hope
to meet up with many old and new Club Scrap friends.
This booklet is 5 inch by 6 inch and inside has
many pockets to put in memorablia.
The big stamp is from my first retreat.
The black letters are chipboard letters
fromthe Hopekit.
A view on the inside of the book:
5 pages each with 3 pockets.

The back of the book with a stamp we got
last year at the retreat.

A closer peak at the inside of the booklet.
A little stamping only for I wanted to leave
space to add all the items fromthe retreat.
For sure i will share this book again
when it is filled with wonderful memories
after the retreat.

Ok now you want to know how I made this:
The covers are 2x  5 1/4"x 61/4 chipboard
covered with the white printed 8x11 inch paper.
The spine of the book is green covered grunge paper.
Here you see the outside. The green spine is
glued 1/2 " over the front and the back cover.
The inside of the outside over.
The middle part is the bendable part.
Let is dry real good before you add the inside pages.

Now you want to know how tomake the inside pages:
You need to cut the paper down to 10 x 9 "
and this is the template:
in paper it look like this:
Folded in half you contruct the pocket.
When folded, you have two flaps on the
outside. You can use a border punch
if you like on these flaps for decoration.

These flaps should be on the left side of your page.

These flaps are used to put the book together.
Glue on top and bottom (use some red heavy tape
or a line of bookbind glue), so a pocket is constructed
on each page.

This is just to show you the front of the book
will be glued to the cover.......do this after you have
covered this chipboard with design paper.

For the backside you need to cut an extra stripof
5x5 inch, fold in half (lengthwise) add the punch
border and glue to last page and cover (after decorated
with design paper).

These are the tags that ore inside the pockets
with only a little decoration for now,
but it will be filled after the retreat with lots more.

Hope it all makes sense to you, but
you can always email me if you have questions.

Now let's hop on and see what
the ever creative Kay has for you

Happy Hopping!

Have a creative day!
