Stencil Time 5

Are you tired of my stenciling?
I hope not, for I have another idea for you.

Stencil and gesso

The fern stencil is by Club Scrap
and you can find it HERE.

1. I took green paper for this and
put the fern stencil on top.

2. Take gessoand a soft brush to
cover all of the panel.

3. Take away the fern stencil and let
the gesso air dry.

4. Now take the honeycomb stencil.
you find it HERE
Take a topaz inkpad and color
around the fern.

This is how it looks when you take the stencil away.

Even more close up.

And how can I trow away the cut of...no this is perfect
to use for decoration on the inside!

Thanks for looking and hopefully you come back
for more tomorrow.
Have a creative day!

Club Scrap 50s Kitchen cards

Just before the new Club Scrap Botanicals kit arrives,
I have some fun card ideas for you with
the April 50s Kitchen papers.
These are the cards
and I want to show you how I made them.

I took 3 colorsof distress stains that match this kit.
I had a few papers left, that I wanted to decorate for
a background for some cards.
So I put a few drops of ink on my craftsheet
and sprayed a few drops of water on it.

Take your paper and move it over the craftsheet.

This way you add color to your paper.

This is the result with different scraps of paper Iused.

Now what to do with these fun papers:
1. take a stamp and black ink and stamp on it.
Here you see the wonderful colors coloring the stamp.
This is the finished card.
For all the cards I used the digital version of
the 50s Kitchen kit to print the sentiments.

2. I found this wonderful stencil at Clearscraps
and just had to use it on the background. I took
Rangers Texture Paste and

used an old credit card to add the paste to the paper.

When you take of the stencil, you add the embossing powder.
For this I added silver embossing powder.
Now you cannot heath the powder right away.
You have to eave the paste to dry first.

Then you can heat emboss and it looks like
you really have forks and knives on your card.
And this is the finished card.
3. For the last card I used gesso.
I appliedit the same way as the paste.
It dries very quick.

Now add some of the matching ink colors
with a blending tool. You can use just one color
or like I did 3 colors.
This is the result.
I did not want to cover too much of the beautiful
background,so I just added a sentiment and the bottle cap
that came with the kit.

Hope I have given you some ideas to try.
Thanks for looking.
Have a creative day!

TJ more GESSO resist

See, I made many more of these wonderful backgrounds
with gesso and other mediums. I have a pile to share
more cards with you!

So today I took one of the "gesso resist" backgrounds
and an embossing folder. Had to try and see how this looked.
So I took this flower folder and embossed the paper.

The embossing folder is by Crafts-too-Dutch
 and I found it here.
With a blending tool I added alittle ink
to the raised flowers to make them pop.

And here you see the finished card:

The finished card is made with:
Club Scrap Navajo and Circles papers
Michael Strong butterly stamps
Tim Holtz sentiment

The butterflies are embossed with
copper embossing powder and colored
with distress ink and a blending tool.

The small butterfly is very dimentional.
Stamped twice and with a foam tape added together.
On both butterflies you find little sticky gemstones.

Have you had a look at all the cool techniques, that you
find on the Techniqu Junkies Artist Effects CD?
You find them all listed here with a sample card:

TJ Distress Gesso Resist with an Italian twist

In honour of our new DT member at
Paulette designed this fun stamp set,
because Ileana is from Italy.

Welcome Ileana and we are looking forward to
see your artwork. You can have a look at her blog here:

This card is made with a background
from the new Technique Junkies
CD called Artisic effects and
one of the Italian digital stamps.
Buona Fortuna means Good Luck
and of cource that is my wish for Ileana.

This is the Distress Gesso Resist background
and sometimes it comes out so nice that at first
you do not want to cover it. So I made a picture
and now I can reuse it. You can steel it from me
if you like it by saving it with a right
mouse click to your computer.

The banners are made with water color paper and
just adding distress stain and flick some water drops
on it and dry with heat gun.

The focal image of the butterfly is colored with distress
markers. The butterfly is printed twice. The second
butterfly is added to the first with a piece of
foam tape and finished with a layer of glitter glue.

Have a creative day!

Create with TLC Fasion Blog Hop

Hi!
Hetty here with another fun
blog hop for
and watch for all those freebies
that go with every hop.

I am glad you have hopped over
from the wonderful and
inspirational Cynthia
with her cute artwork.

If you get lost on the way, go back to the Create with TLC
blog for the list of participants.

And now on to our
FASHION SHOW

With the free image, I created the above card
and you know me, I have an easy tutorial for you
to make this wonderful background paper.

Grab your freebie here with the
right mouse click and safe it to your
computer. Remember where you put it!!

So what do you need:
a page from a fashion magazine
a template (or a cut out from the fasion magazine!)
gesso
acrylic paints
brush
heat gun
sewing machine

1. start with adding a little gesso
on top of the magazine paper
and DRY it with your heat gun before
next step.

2. Take a few colors of acrylic paint.
Start with the first color and cover
the paper just a little. DRY it
and add another layer of gesso. DRY it.

3. You can repeat this a few times with
as many colors as you want to use to
make an interesting page.
Don't forget to dry it in between.

4. Take your mask (or the one you cut yourself)
and lay this on top of your paper.

5. Take a pruch with gesso and cover around the masks.

6. This is how it looks when you take
of the masks.

7. Quickly clean your mask with a baby whipe
before doing anything else.

Now your paper is ready to use for the
background of your card.

Because this is a fashion hop, I added some
real sewing to the background.
First I glued the magazine paper to
a piece of scrap paper and then
I used my sewing machine. Just did
some random sewing and zig zag stitches.

If you click on the photo you can see a larger
version and a more close up to the finished paper.

Here a close up of the card
and you see I printed the image on kraft paper
 and colored with color pencil.

The sentiment is also by Create with TLC and you
find it somewhere on this blog hop!

Here another card
made with the same image
printed on kraftpaper and
 colored with pencil.

This is a stairstep card, an easy fold
(see next picture) card. The background is made
with scrapbook paper and some dress up dies (SU!)

Card size is 5x5 inch and de front is folded in half.
All together the card is 15x 5 inch.

Close up of the back of the card.
Button fastned with a

Front of the card wit a sentiment by
Create with TLC too.

Thanks you for stopping by
and hopefully you find some nice inspiration and
a lot more freebies.
Take a look at the next blog
and find cards of
the oh so creative
KAREN.
