Journal52 week 4: Character

Here is my next page for project Journal52.

The theme this week is: Build a Character:

So what to do? I love using quotes,

so I looked around and found one by Anne Frank.

So after coloring the background of

my page with gelatos and used a stencil with circles

I stamped the hand stamp on tissue paper.

The stamp is by Michael Strong.

I embossed the image with black embossing powder.

The hands are colored with worn lipstick distress ink

and a blending tool. Then I glued them on the page

with matt medium.

The smaller hands and other doodle stamps you see on this page

are from the 2010 Club Scrap retreat where Michael Strong

designed the stamps we have got on the Retreat Kit.

Finishing of the page with white dots drawn with

Graffiti Valentine gift idea

With Valentine around the corner

I have another cute idea for you

with Club Scrap's Graffiti papers.

It looks a bit like a bookmark/tag.

It is a label that you can hang from 

a bunch of flowers or a litle gift,

although it is a little gift by itself.

The front is decorated with some left

overs from yesterdays blog hop

tutorial (here)

This is the template. Use a strip of 

2"x 11" of your choice of paper.

Use this template to draw the tip that

is folded around the necklace or bracelet

and slipped into the cutted line.

Here you se it completedon the inside.,

with a necklace with hearts folded inside.

The sentiment is from the Club Scrap

Fizz kit. 

Of course you can use any paper

and make this for all kinds of occasions.

Club Scrap Graffiti Blog Hop: Fun with Gelatos

Here we are with our monthly Club Scrap Blog Hop.

This month the kit is called:

Graffiti

So I took my camera and went out to look for some

graffiti in my town and made this page:

Now you may wonder how I did this background,

for this is not paper from the kit. Get out your gelatos!

Start with painting your paper with gesso

and let it dry.

Color with  3 different shades of blue

on the border of your paper. Use your finger

(or a sponge) to rub the color really well on the paper.

Spray with water and let the color run down.

When dry you can stamp on it.

As Valentine is around the corner, I also used this

technique to make a Valentine card.

Now that you have your gelatos out, I also

have another technique for you.

For this you need:

The cards you painted with gesso, stencil and baby wipes.

As graffiti is mostly done on a wall, I used a wall stencil

(this one is not Club Scrap and I forgot by which firm, but

there are many around. Mine is 6"x6").

I chosse a few "wall" colors and added them

on the card.

With my finger I rubbed the gelatos on the card.

Now the card is covered with the wall stencil

and take a baby wipe to rub away some of the gelatos.

When you take the stencilof the card it looks like

a brick wall and this is the background of your card.

Take the stencil from the kit and rub 

the color of your choice on the word of your choice.

As Iam into Valentine cards, I chose to 

write love on the wall.

Here is the finished card

and below are some more samples:

For this one I just used red and orange gelatos

and besides the Graffiti stencil, also

the Fizz stencil for the hearts and the sentiment.

Gelatos are so much fun to use and hopefully

you give it a try too.

Tim Holtz January tag: Time

Yeah! Tim Holtz is continuing his tag inspirations

and started this month with a time piece for tags of 2014.

I absolutely love the tag and dher is my 

interpretation.

As I do not have the large clock and the embossingfolder

Tim is using, I used the pocket watch instead and

also some other embossing folders.

It is like you open your pocket watch to use the key

(on the ribbon on top) to wind the clockup - very

old fashiond way.

Here you see the key on the ribbon and the words 

I have chosen to add to the tag.

The sentiment on the bottom is a sentiment from

a Club Scrap kit from some years back.

Look Cute with Create with TLC

"Look Cute" is a new set by Create with TLC

and of course as part of the design team

 I hope to inspire you with these two cards.

If you like the set, you can find it HERE.

The images are printed on craft paper (you don't have to

always print on white) and colored with color pencil.

I looked for some matching scrappapers.

Thes little 6x6"blocks are just wonderful for these kind of cards.

Both my cards are 5 1/8" x 5 1/8".

With ribbon and flowers as embellishments 

are used to finish of these cards.

Sunday Scrap page: What are you reading

This weeks theme is about what you are reading.

As I am always reading,this was not very difficult

to come up with. Also Club Scrap has this wonderful

kit: Bookshelves,so that is the paper I used.

The fleur de lis stamp is by Michael Strong and

was stamped with versamarkink and embossed in gold.

The love image is felt and from another Club Scrap kit.

The book letters are grungeboard inkted up with 

frayed burlapdistess ink.

The text is printed on a piece of library paper

and if you clickon the picture it will enlarge and

you can read the text.

To brighten up the page I used bit of washi tape

I just bought yesterday (for the Dutch people: at the HEMA).
