Hambo hoedown 129

Thanks again to Hambo for sending
the free image to play with.
This time we have this wonderful
SCHOOL DOG and the
challange is to make a school themed
card or project.

Well, this time i made a cards and a project.
Here is the card.I used some background paper
I made my own with my new gelli plate.
Found some cute pictures I had in my
stash to add to the dog image
that I colored with pencil.

Here also a picture of the inside of the card.
I could not throw away the left over paper!

I also came up with this fun door-hanger.
It is the shape of a pencil to hang on your
child's door when he/she is out to school.
I enlarched the dog to fit with the size of the
pencil (4"x 7").

Here you see it when it hangs on the door.
The image of the dog is colored here
with distressmarkers.

Have a creative day!

The little ribbons on the side of the
picture also cae with the kit and are fastned
with a staple.

Saturday Sketch card: Anniversary

we have a new challenge every month by Mike
himself. This month it is Mike and Carla's
37th Wedding Anniversary and all of us are
challenged to make them a card by using this sketch:
Here you see the finished card
and envelop. I used:
Mike's  cloisonné hearts
SU! wedding stamp and sentiment
musical notes  - unknown

This is the inside of the card.
If you click on the photo you
can see a larger version and read the
wonderful sentiment.
It is from an old set I already have for a long
time and love to use( Oh, how we danced)
In the bckground i first stamped the large
cloisonné heart in versamark and embossed
it with clear embossing powder. You can
find the stamps HERE.
The smal heart is done with gold embossing
powder and colored with pink distress marker.
Now how did I make the background?
First I stamped the wedding couple in versamark
and embossed it with white embossing powder.
Next I did the same with the the musical notes.

Second I took my craft sheet and  distress stains
(fired brick, tarnished brass and tattered rose).
I did the direct to paper technique and the white
lines resist the stains.

A ribbon and some musical washi tape and the card is finished
ready to be posted by special messenger!
Mike and Carla, I hope the card the card is soon
with you and you have a lovely Wedding Anniversary
and hopefully many more!

Have a creative day!

Hambo challenge 128: Carpenter

Here is my card for the
Hambo Hoedown challenge
using things a carpenter would use.

We got this wonderful digital stampset of
the carpenter from playing last week.
If you like this image, you can find it HERE.

For my card, I used 2 pieces of real wood
in card size and drilled two holes in it.

With a blender tool and walnut stain distress ink
I colored around the borders of the card.

I found a hammer and nails stamp in my stash
and stamped thes on the background of my card.

For decoration I used some floor plan scrap paper,
metallic mesh, black brads
and thin wire around the card.

for the inside i also used the messh, some brads,
a piece of silver embossed paper and one of
the sentiments that came with this set.

Here you see the finished card.
It is held together with some workmen's string.

The carpenter is colored with pensil and the sentiments
are stick with double sided tape to the background.
I found I had a hamer and nail button that I could use.

Thanks for looking!
Have a creative day!

Sunday Scrap page: Old

Here is my scrap page for today. It is about something old,
for that is the theme of this week at Club Scrap's
Weekly Chronicles.

Why the old clothes?
Well, I have been losing so much weight,I have a
whole set of new clothes and all the old ones go to a 2nd
hand shop so I get some money for new ones.

To make this page I used Club Scrap August Tribal
papers and stamps in combination with Michael Strong's
small circle from the Accent stamp set.

The small circle of Michael Strong fits perfectly
in the Tribal circle stamp. The little silver dots are made with a
viva color pearl pen.

I have used different colors for both stamps,
so you see which one is Club Scrap and
wich one is Michael Strong.

Have a creative day!

Michael Strong inspiration for Jewish New Year

As the Jewish New Year
Rosh Hashanah
is around the corner:
5/6th of September
I do have to make some cards.

This year i am inspired by Michael Strong's
new stamp called Hannah's Busy Bee
and you can find it HERE.
Below you see the cards that inspired me.

You may wonder about the new year thing...it is only September?
But the Jewish lunar year is different. It is also not 2013, but the new year
is 5774 and if you are interested, you can find more info
about this jewish holiday HERE.

As for my card:
I added a Jewish wish and some stars of David (SU!)
to my card. The stamp is embossed with gold
on some light blue paper. All papers are Club Scrap.

Little sticky gemstones are added in the middle
of the star of david that you see when arranging the images
in this way.

Wondering why the bee is for Jewish New Year?
Well he makes the honey that we eat on a sweet apple
to symbolize the hope of a sweet year!
So on these cards I added the number
of the new Jewish new Year.
I have cut them out with a long sizzix
Tim Holtz die.

Have a creative day!
