Sunday Surprise: Blog Candy

Today I share this card with you with the snowman stamp
and a sentiment from  from Mike's word & phrases stamp set.

Are you wondering how I did the blue/brown background?
Very simple: First I stamped the snowman ornament in
versamark and embossed it with white embossing powder.
Then  I used a few blue bistre grains on my craft
sheet,added a few drops of water and used the pannel
direct to the craft sheet to get the color on the paper.
Dried it with  my heatgun and that is all. This way
you can make afew cardsin a short amount of time.

On top I made a hole to add a piece of turquoise ribbon.

Behind the ornament pannel I used a piece of white paper,
that I embossed with a swiss dot embossing folder.
It gives an extra touch to the card. Papers are from
Club Scraps November Lakes pizza box. Yummy colors!

    Wat een mooie kaart is dit geworden met die blauwe bistre.
    Een Sneeuwpop/Sneeuwman of -vrouw zijn o.a. mijn favoriete stempels in de winter, dus ik ga voor de Kerstbal met de sneeuwpop erin ;o)

    Wow, dat zijn weer mooie nieuwe stempels! Vind het moeilijk te zeggen welke ik het mooist vind, de duif of de sneeuwman, maar denk toch de sneeuwman..
    Mooi hoe goed die uitkomt op de bisterachtergrond! Blijft mijn lievelings combo; blauw en bruin! Fijne zondag verder, Gerrina

    Your card is a beauty, Hetty! The ornament appears as if it's dimensional and set on top of the bister layer! Reminds me of a clear glass ornament! Love how you "hung" it with the ribbon! Smart thinking!!! Looks terrific! ANd your bister layer is just gorgeous! Great color and love the way the bister "moved" on the paper to create a lovely design! I like how you added an embossed layer beneath the bister too! The paper ribbon is so pretty too!

    As for my favorite, my first thought was the teardrop shaped one shown at the end, with the peace dove. But I love what you did with your snowman one...so I'm changing my mind to the snowman ornament!!! Thanks for sharing your techniques! Hugs, Laura

    Interesting backgrounds - really like the way you've made these cards. Although I like all Michael's Christmas designs my favourite, especially the way you've used it, is the Dove ornament.

    Echt weer Hetty om dit met ons te delen..! En mijn favoriet is de ovale kerstbal, die met het duifje in het midden. Duifje staat voor vrede en ja zeker zou dat heel, heel mooi zijn. Vrede op de wereld is toch zeker een rijkdom

    All the stamps are beautiful. I especially love the snowman globe ornament. What says winter like a snowman. My second choice would be the reindeer.
