More embellisments!

Two more cards for the Club Scrap technique challenge
to make your own embellishments.
Look here how many buttons I have:
so why not use them more?!
Pinterest is a wonderful source for inspiration.
Here are two cards I came up with:

The first idea was easy: using the red buttons as a body
for the crabs. Just adding them and fastening these with a piece
of brown scrap floss.

The stamped image is from the Club Scrap kit Lakes (Nov 2014)
and the sentiment from Cantina (July 2015).

Here you see a close up of the crab ( a die from Echo Park)
with googly eyes and  a button as a shield.

The sea is 3 layers of torn paper fastened on top of each other.

Card number 2 is totally different. Here I made
a flower with the buttons as a heart.

I started using some of the ribbons from my Club scrap stash.
cut 4 the same pieces of the same turquoise ribbon (5 inch).

On top of each piece I added a piece of double sided tape.

Make a circle of each piece.
Then the circles were flattened and stacked on top
of each other, ready to be made into a flower.
I cut a piece of paper with a die and
found these two buttons that I am going to
use as a heart of the flowerby stacking them
on top of each other.

Meanwhile I had stamped the background of the card
with stamps from the 2013 Neon Doodles stamps.
Here you see the finished flower fastned to the card
with scrappers floss. Used a needle to go through all of the layers
to fasten the flower to the card.

You fid more ideas on the Club Scrap Blog
and you can add your own ideas with the linky party.

Thank you for looking.

Club Scrap Technique of the Month: Embellishment

The technique of the month at the Club Scrap blog
is home made embellishments. I love that!!
Thank you Tina for coming up with this fun idea.
And as I always wanted to make these crochet
flowers from a button, this is the time to do it!

Stamps are from this months Club Scrap kit Boardwalk.

I also found a good video for those of you who want to
give this technique a try:

Click on the image above and the video
will start to play.

It is really an easy thing to do and does not take a lot of time
(when you know how tocrochet that is).
I had a little bit of this natural colored cotton with a
tiny gold trough it. Perfect for my vintage card.

And as for the beach, I thought of an old but
much loved technique. Use a piece of torn post it,
a blending tool and an inkpad.Move the post it
note and ink it up every time you move it.

After stamping the image with walnut stain, I put the
inkpad on the craft sheet, alittle water and a brush
to color the image.

I have some more embellishment ideas, but no more time.
See you around sometime this week!

Have a creative day!

Club Scrap PSL wk5: Embellishments

 This week at Club Scraps
Pro Scrapbook League it is all about
EMBELLISHMENTS
and of course I have something to share with you..

How about using these twisties
from the Friendship kit
(April 2004)
that I still had lying around
and never used.

Take 4 twisties
and also you need
2 circle punches (one larger then the other)
prick pen
wav thread

Fold the twistie from both sides towards the middle.

Do this with all 4 twisties.

Now take a piece of wax thread,
about 16 inch.

Now we are going to arrange the twisties on top
of each other like on the drawing.

You have to hold it in your hand.

Take the wax tread and use it to fasten all the twisties
together. Go from one side of the flower towards the
other side widing twice and go to the next petal.

When all is done you have two pieces of thread.

Now you punch two circles.

Put the circles on top of each other
and prick two holes. It will look like a button.

Thread the wax thread trough the holes
and make a bow on top of the flower.
Now you have a ready flower to
embellish on your card.
Glue dots are great to fasten the flower
to the card.
