Creative Chemistry Day 6 (final) Shadow Press

And here is my tag for the last day of the Creative Chemistry clas 103
by Tim Holtz in the Online Class.
For this technique you need the
shadowpress embossing folders.
I made two tags, i just couldn't leave the scraps on my table!

With this technique you not only need the embossing folders,
but also embossing powder. I tried it on a tag and love the
result, Then I wanted to try it on black paper with white
embossing powder. Great result.
Now one thing I do need is that shadow press station,
so the embossing ink does noir get on my paper.
I improvised with paper around it, but that is too much
moving around.

This is the tag ready in the technique. After the embossing
you color the paper with distress ink.

Here is my finished tag, My first
Christmas tag for this year. Maybe a card
idea...love the look and feel.

Now the black one I made into a Halloween
tag, Just stamped the skeleton next to the words
and the tag is ready to hang on a bag of candy.

Now that school is over, I am just not
ready to quit playing. I have to try all
the other techniques as well and get myself
some yupo paper.

Thank Tim Holtz for all your inspiration!

Thank you for looking
and have a creative day.

Creative Chemistry Day 5: Alcohol Ink

Here my projects for day 5 of the Tim Holtz
online classes of Creative Chemistry 103.
All the techniques incorporate alchol ink and yupo paper.
So what to do when you have no yupo paper?
Well shop, you will say, but it would not be here in time,
so I just experimented a little.

I choose the resist technique.

I tryed on several papers if the technique as Tim shows it in his video
tutoral, but no paper i had worked. So with my card and tags
I cheated a little by finally using bleach to try and get the same effect.
Finally these were the best samples to use.

This green background is alcohol ink on ranger matte stamping paper.
I made an alcohol background and then i stamped the bottles
with bleach. Not the best result, but ok for the tag.
I finally stamped the bottles also in black on top of the background.
Also some die cut bottles from dample papers I used to
decorate the tag. The words creative chemistry are printed on
kraft paper with the computer. 103 is a die cut.

This tag is just bleach on dark brown paper. That seemed to
work best, but no alcohol ink. I loved the background,
so I had to finish this and make it into a tag.

Here i used the alcohol ink on some funny shiny paper that was
lying in my stash. No not photo paper. After adding the alcohol ink
was added, I stamped the bottles with bleach. The lines did not stay
were straight, but gave a nice look, so I stamped the teacher on top
and gave him also some bottles make his potions. Is it Tim mixing
the creative chemistry?

Anyway, not the real technique, but I had fun playing.

Thanks for looking.
Have a creative day.

Creative Chemistry Day 4: Distress Crayons

On day 4 of the online classes by Tim Holtz
it is time to play with the distress crayons.
The technique I choose to share with you is
"textured resist".
This is such a fun technique I made 2 tags.

For this one I just used the red and blue crayon
and i just love the end result. I used 3 different
stensils to get this: stripes, sunrays and stars.

I love the set with the bright colors
and here another tag, that uses the
technique for the background and
is finished with the flowers and the leave
die and some of the idea-ology tekst
stickers.

Thank you for looking.
Have a creative day.

Creative Chemistry 103: Day 3

Here is my tag for the 3rd day of Chreative
Chemistry 103 lessons by Tim Holtz,
I choose the Texture paste coloring technique to try
and show you.
For this you need:
texture paste,
embossing powder
a (mini) stencil,
distres ink
and distress spray

It is a great dimentional technique.
I finished the tag with some
stamping, and small talk stickers.

Here on the top of the tag, you see the dimention of
the gadget gears best. On the ribbon there is a metal gear
hanging roght before the hole of the tag.

On the bottom part of the tag you see best the stamping
that was added and the stickers. I used cracked pistacho
distress spray to give the gears a little rusted look.

Thank you for looking.
Have a creative day!

Creative Chemistry 103: day 2

There are many tutorials in one day,
Complimets to Tim Holts for making all of these
videos with such clear explanations.
You find all these Creative Chemistry tutorials
here in the Online Card Classes.
but I do not have so much time to do all of them,
so i just pick one each day to share and will do the other
tutorials at a later time. Today i share with you
the distress luminous mica technique.

As I do not have all these tiny inks
I decided to color my tag with distress stains.

Here you see all the colors i chose for my card.
Does it look like coffee colors...yes!
Maybe because i just had my morning coffee.

So i dropped the colors on my craft sheet
and picked them up with my tag.

This is how it looks after the first run

and the second....

and now more coloring

and in the end it looks like this.

Hope you can see the wonderful spraying on my tag.
I LOVE the mica spray, it makes the tag  glow.

I just couldn't leave my
tag unstamped and made it into
a coffee themed tag.
Hello: cuppa joe!

Creative Chemistry Day 8

Day 8 is all about PAINT in
the online class by Tim Holtz

I just love the look and feel of these tags.
I seem to have a theme in these tags
today: butterflies. These stamps are all
by Club Scrap from the Papillon kit.
 Tag #1:
Paint Dabber Resist Technique
This tag is made on sticky back canvas and it just looks
wonderful. It is a pity this does not show on the picture.

After doing the first tag, I just had to try it again in a
lighter version. I love this technique. It has an awesome
look to it.Sure going to do this again. Very grungy.
 Tag #3:
Shattered Stains Technique
This is absolutely awsome. It really does look like
glass. In the background i stamped a branch and used
a white distress marker. Wow does it show!
