Michael Strong Zoom Class: Animals

 

Welcome Crafty Friends,

Last night (for me, but morning in San Diego California)

tere was the monthly wonderful zoom class by 

Michael Strong.

You find all the stamps I used for this class here:

Stongstamps Catalogue.

Remember, I do not get a package of cards, but digital 

files with measurements and pictures. I use what i have in my stash.

This class was about 5 different animal stamps designed by

Michael strong himself.

Card #1 Giraffe

I stamped the giraf on white paper and scanned it.

This way I could manipulate the image in photoshop

(with the help of a collegue). Then I printed the

image on orange paper. The border is a picture I found

on internet.

The leaf is a stamp that comes with the giraffe stamp set.

Here the inside of the card.

Card #2 Seahorse

Here I stamped the seahorse on blue paper and colored them 

with pencils. The border is made with 2 different sizes of

punches, hologram stickers and blue gemstones.

Inside the card there is a piece of light blue paper.

Card #3 Pony

This stamp with black ink on white paper and colored with pencils.

Next I scanned the pony before cutting out.

I used a piece of a horizontal rectale and enlarged this to make

up the border.  The tiny beads are on a piece of wax thread with

nots to hold the beads in place.

I printed the border twice and used it also on the inside of the card.

Card #4 Panda

The size of this card is 4 x 7 inch.

The background panel si stamped with the bamboo stamp

from the panda set with red ink.

5 Pand's are glued to a accordeon folded strip

and are hidden behind this flap. The tssel pulls out the 

strip of panda's. I made the tassel with embroidery floss.

The decoration on the flap is 3 punched out flowers

and a circle stamp with chineese characters (embossed

in gold and by Club Scrap).

For the inside I used another stamp from the set.

A row of tiny panda's. Also great to use on the

envelop.

Card #5 Elephant

Of couse again started this card with stamping the elephant and

used pencils to color the image. After cutting out, I put it asside to

make the card. The size of the card is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 inch.

Embossed pannel on the front with punched out flowers and a 

tiny golden gemstone.

Inside a small panel decorated with the flower that comes

with the stamp set and also colored with pencil.

Finishing the card with 3 flowers in the same colors as

on the front side of the card.

Color Throwdown #525

Today I share with you my card for the challenge on the

 Color Throwdown Blog.

I used the Club Scrap Delft stencil in the background,

expresso oxide ink, Club Scrap Fizz sentiment

and Michael Strong giraffe stamp.

Card Captain day 3: Giraffe

Welcome to day 3 of me being the card captain for the

Enjoy Michael Strong stamps group.

I keep to wild animals and her is Mike's

Cloisonné Giraffe stamp.

The sentiment is a digital stamp printed with

the computer and is from the Create with TLC Blog.

And now I show you how  the card is made.

I started with folding a piece of kraft cardstock and

embossed the front side with this sizzix embossing folder.

Next I stamped the giraffe on a piece of white paper

and just the head on a strip of lighter kraft paper

with walnut stain distress oxide ink.

With peeled paint distress oxide ink I stamped the

acacia leave that belongs to this stampset.

With fossilized amber distress oxide  ink on 

the craft sheet and a waterbrush (and a few drops

of water) I colored all the giraffes.

Now the giraffe and the leaves are cut out and

everything is coming together on the card.

Inside the card there is also a leave and I will ad one

to the enveloppe as well.

Giraffes like coffee too!

After 8 days of coffee card....I was not ready to quit, so for my

Michael Strong stamp friends I made this fun card.

For the background of this card I was  inspired by this

weeks Tie Dye Background tutorial on 

Splitcoaststampers HERE. 

The sentiment and the cup are by Vervestamps.

The giraffe stamp was stamped and embossed on kraft paper

and colored wth pencil. Then cut out. First the sand was

created bij tearing kraft paper and colored with vintage

photo oxide ink. Then the giraffe and the cup were added

and the straw was cut from  a piece of white cardstock.

Saturday sketch card: giraffe

This card is for the sketch challenge

on the Michael Strong Stamp group.

This is the sketch and as you can see

for the card it is turned around.

To start the background I used a stencil and

vintage photo and fossilized amber distress ink.

Here you see the finished back panel.

For the next oiece i used the acacia leave.

But as I did not want the border to show,

so I colored the leave with a distress marker.

I used several kinds of green to fill out the paper.

On the card i used the giraffe stamp by Michael Strong. 

You find the stamp here.

I stamped the giraffe with brown archival ink and

colored with the same to inks as i used for the background.

Just added some ink on my craftsheet, sprayed a little 

water and used a brush for coloring. The birthday sentiment

is also by Michael Strong and comes from the words

and phrases set.

I also decorated the giraffe with little yellow sticky gemstones.

The green panel behind the giraffe is also embossed.

Stencil Time: Sunday Scrap Page

Is is Sunday again?

How time flies! And also for Sunday I have a stencil idea.

I have told you before that I have no use

of the Club Scrap Mountains kit theme,

but the colors are lovely.

So I turned the paper and had a lovely cream color

to work on.

So I got the stencils out and some onks and got

to work with a blending tool on this piece of paper.

After som work,this is the result.

Now i get the photo's printed and can finish the page.

And because this page is about our Safari Trip 

with Owen on Omaday I added the giraffe stamp

by Michael Strong. I stamped it on yellow paper

and added some other colors with pencil.

And in my stash I found a piece of giraffe ribbon 

that I had to add with the button on top.

Sunday Scrap page: Safari

Last week we took Owen on his first safari.

He is wild about animals and so when his mom

and dad had other things to do, we took Owen to

a Dutch Safari Park called Beekse Bergen.

He had the time of his life and did not want to miss

anything all day. A bus drove us through the park

and the driver told us all about the animals. We had a special day.

I made this page with Safari papers from Club Scrap

and the giraffe stamp from Michael Strong.

I colored the image with pencil.

Saturday Card: Happy Birthday giraffe

Today I want to share with you how I made this

fun birthday card with

Michael Strong's clossoné giraffe stamp

and the free birthday subway art

from Create with TLC that you find HERE.

For the front of the card you need

your collection of washi tape to cover

the first panel of your card.

The pannel will look lik this on the back

 when you are finished.

Adhere the panel to a contrasting background pape

(not too heave paper) and to your card.

Take  circle punch (or any other punch

of your choice) and punch through all tree layers.

(that is why you do not use the too heavy papers).

Now you stamp the giraffe. I did not stamp on the inside

of the card for I was afraid that maybe the stamp and the hole

would not match up, so this is to be safe.

Cut out the image.

Color  the imaege with materials of your choice.

Now you can glue it to the inside of the card and make

sure the head pops out of the window.

I added an extra happy birthday on the inside

of the card. Hope you like the idea

and will give it a try.
