Journal52 week 12: A day in the life of me

Here I am with another fnished page for my
weekly art journal. The theme for this weekis:
A day in the life of me.

After some thinking,I wanted to share with you
something like a perfect normal day:
running in the morning,of to the gym and
some crafting in the afternoon and
a movie with my darling in the evening.

So I started to paint my page in three colors
to make the morning, afternoon and evening.
This page is first painted with gesso and
the colors are distress paint.
Then I used the same colors on a piece of paper
without gesso underneath. Defenitely  brighter color.
I tore up the second piece to do
some weaving with it on the first piece
of paper.

I added the bird with a stencil, for I do the
runing early in the morning and love to
hear the sounds of the birds around me.

With the use of some stencils and pens,
I finished this page.

Thanks for looking and
have a creative day!

Journal52 wk 11: Stars

This wwe the theme on
***STARS***

So I looked for quotes
and ideas and what kind of
star stuff I had in templates and stamps.
Then I got the idea to use
all and take the quote
"Reach for the stars" literally.
So I started with my Tim Holtz star stencil
and used white acrylic paint.
Then I colored the paper with distess stain broken china
and used some faded jeans for the smaller stars
of the stencil.
I used my TimHoltz star stamps and a SU! star stamp
that I colored in lemonade squeeze acrylic paint.
I also used some washi star tape that I found.

In the middle I stamped the wired circle stamp
that is by Nathalie Kalbach and carried by
Stampendous.
I finished of the page by using a few alphabet stamps
to stamp the quote in the middle of the circle
with archival jet black ink.

Thanks for looking!
Have a creative day!

Journal52 wk 10: Art for a Cause

So here is the next page in my art journal.
The promt is: "Art for a cause".

As I donate money to the
that is what this page is allabout.

Make-A-Wish® grants the wish of a child diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition in the United States and its territories, on average, every 38 minutes. We believe that a wish experience can be a game-changer. This one belief guides us. It inspires us to grant wishes that change the lives of the kids we serve.

I give money to this foundation, because I think children should be happy
and laugh and live. Hope this way I can make a difference.
I started to paint the page in my book sky blue
with a touch of white.
As the symbol of the foundation holds a star,
I used Michael Strong's larger star
stamp and embossed it with dark glitter blue
embossing powder.
Then I took this cloud template and
white paint.I covered the star,so it
wouln't get paint on it.

This is how the page looked when i took
the template off.
Then I took this Stampotique stamp to symbolize
one of the children.I stamped with archival blach
and colored the child with distress paints.
I was tempted to leave the page like this,
for it shows the helplessnes of the child.

Then I added some small stars and thought
of those kids who had their wishes granted and are
now up there among the stars.

I found this beautiful sentiment
by Stampers anonymous and just had to
add it with a little doodling around.

Of course the name of the foundation
had tobe added on the page too.

Here you see the final page
Below you see the trademark of the foundation
that inspired this page.

Have a creative day!

Journal52 wk 9: Color Swatch

Today an other page for my art journal, so i am
not behind any more. The promt this weekis:
"Color Swatch"

If you like to jumpin too, take a look

When I turned the page in my book,it looked like this.
How come you may ask. Well, when I play with my gelli plate
I always finish my brayer in this book and it makes
nice backgrounds for art journal pages.
I thought this page already looked like a color swatch!

See what I found in my stash!
It gave me right away the idea as to what kind of stamps
I had to get out and stamp with on the color swatches.
So i stamped the butterfly, bird and dragonflies
in versamark and embossed in black.
Looked for some matching distress inks
and with the Tim Holtz  direct to paper technique
I colored a piece of manilla paper to match the
background and the color swatches.
This is a close up of the finished paper.
On this paper I used the Michael Strong butterfly,
humminbird and dragonfly stamp.
After stamping the figures were cut out.
The strips were glued to the background and they
were bound together with some black line doodeling.

And here comes the finished page:
The cut out insects added to the background and a
sentiment in the left bottom corner.
The sentiment is by Create with TLC
and printed with the computer and cut in pieces.

Then I had some left over pieces and made
a card out of it:
All the same stamps and sentiments,
but a total different look.
I love using up all my scraps.

If you click on the picture you see a larger version
and you will notice the little gemstone flowers I have used
on the color swatch and the tiny stones on the
butterfly.

Thanks for looking!
Have a creative day!

Journal52-8: Found Poetry

I am a little behind, so today I have week 8
ready with this promt:
"Found Poetry"

I had something different at first, but
I did not like it at all,so I tookmy foam brush
and painted the page again to start something new.

Looked trough some magazines and
came up with tese words and suddenly
new this was going to be allright.

I glued all the words to the page and noticed
I wanted a few extra words: & see.
So for these I used some stickers.
After a little doodling with a black pen, I stamped
the eye on the page twice with black archival ink.
Took some gessoand a lid of a jar tomake
these circles around the eyes.

Then with the tip of a pencil dipped into the gesso
some dots around the circles and on the page.

Here the finished eyes. If you click
on the photo you see an even larger picture.
And so this has become the finished page.
In the bottom right corner you see I drew a small camera
with P365 inside. For when I finished the words this made me
think of the P(hoto)365 I do for a few years allready.
This means making a picure every day and  you
actually look different and all your daily doings.

Thanks for looking!

Have a creative day!
