Coffee on Saturday

My card for today is inspired by Heidi's Thursday
technique card. It is a technique by the
Technique Junkies called distressed colorblocking
(newsletter Feb 2011)
I used:
3 colors of distress ink
(dried marigold, gathered twigs and frayed burlap)
a digital sentiment by Create with TLC
(it is still a freebie today!!)

Use the colors of inkpad directly to your
acrylic block to stamp the background.
Dry well before stamping the coffee cup
(I used my heat gun).

The coffee cup is
stamped with versamark and embossed with
orient express powder on the dark brown card
and with black embossing powder on the
white card.
On this card i added a peace of ribbon that I
got as apresent, so not sure where it came from.

The back of my card is stamped with a
stamp that was especially made for me by Joanne

TJ Blocked Background

Are you a member of Technique Junkies?
If so you received the latest Newsletter in the mail
this past week with fu  new techniques.

As a designer I have to do certain techniques for
the newsletter, but when it comes I love to try all the
other techniques as well.

This technique is called "Blocked backgrounds"
and I really like doing it. So I made these two cards.

The first card is made with a swan stamp by Art Neko
and a sentiment by Michael Strong.

Here a close up of the colored part of the card.
If you click on the photo you see a larger version.
I colored with distress markers.

The second card is made with Club Scrap papers
and stamps. The sentiment is a sticker that
came with one of the old kits called Ferris Wheel.
The stamp is from the 2009 Henna Kit.

Also here a close up of the colored part.
I added a sticky gemstone in the middle of the flower.
Here I also colored with distress markers.
Can't wait to get some of the new colors.

If you are not a member of Technique  Junkies, you should
hop over and take a look and try the free tutorials
that are available.
Have a creative day!

Birds got to fly

In Europe we have  a songcontest this week
with many countries participating.
So many that they have two
semi-finals (today and Thursday)
and the finals are on Saturday May 18.
You can find all info about it here:

For the Netherlands we have
Anouk singing tonight.
Her song is called:
"Birds got to fly"

and her son is here to hear:

So for the occasion I made this card
with this weeks technique
called Designer Paper Starbust from the
April/May 2013 Newsletter.

The bird is a die from tim Holtz
that is decorated with sticky gemstones.

The sentiment is by

May the best singer win!
(May it be The netherlands....yeh!)
