Happy Thanksgiving!

With this card I wish all my American friends a
Happy Thanksgiving!
Even though we do not celebrate this in The Netherlands
I love making these cards for my friends.

For this card I used:

Michael Strong's digital pumpkin image
Michael Strong's alphabet stamps
leave stencil
rays stencil
Michael Strong's circle from the cloisonné accent stamps
CTMH sentiment stemps (inside)

On the front pannel I used some stencils and stamps
for the background of this card.

The word in a window is a Technique Junkie
technique from the Ocober/ November Newsletter.

The pumpkin imag I printed 4 times, cut out
and folded themin half and glued one half to the other
to have this dimentional pumpkin.

Here you see the inside of the card.
I added some sentiments and leaves (Club Scrap)
from the December 2013 Aspen kit.

Hope you all have a wonderful
and grateful Thanksgiving.

Have a creative day!

Club Scrap Picnick & Technique Junkies

This is the color scheme of the new June
I just love it and can hardly wait to get
my pizzabox full of papers and stamps.

So what to do while waiting..........
I downloaded the digital version, so I could
print some images and sentiments.

You find the digital kit  downloaded here

And with the new Technique Junkies newsletter
of June/July I made a background that feels like
the picknick paper. I used the Crincled Tissue
technique and some distress paints.

Also I found this Club Scrap Avant Garde stamp
that made me think of the Picknic paper.
This background paper looks a bit similar,
but is done in the in the Technique Junkies
Tissued Watercolor technique with
the same Club Scrap Avant Garde stamp.
Now I printed the images I downloaded
and these are the finished cards.

The papers i used are from different Club  Scrapkits:
Navajo blue
Circles green
and Fizz pink
I love the look and feel of these finished cards.
Be sure to come back tomorrow,
when I have more Picknick ideas.

Have a creative day!

TJ more GESSO resist

See, I made many more of these wonderful backgrounds
with gesso and other mediums. I have a pile to share
more cards with you!

So today I took one of the "gesso resist" backgrounds
and an embossing folder. Had to try and see how this looked.
So I took this flower folder and embossed the paper.

The embossing folder is by Crafts-too-Dutch
 and I found it here.
With a blending tool I added alittle ink
to the raised flowers to make them pop.

And here you see the finished card:

The finished card is made with:
Club Scrap Navajo and Circles papers
Michael Strong butterly stamps
Tim Holtz sentiment

The butterflies are embossed with
copper embossing powder and colored
with distress ink and a blending tool.

The small butterfly is very dimentional.
Stamped twice and with a foam tape added together.
On both butterflies you find little sticky gemstones.

Have you had a look at all the cool techniques, that you
find on the Techniqu Junkies Artist Effects CD?
You find them all listed here with a sample card:

For ordering the CD go HERE.

TJ Gesso and Goosebumps for men

Today I combined two techniques from the new
the gesso resist and goosed stains techniques.

When I made the background it immediately made
me think of clouds and the sea,so I was thinking
this one is great for amen's card.

So I got out the Stampin'Up! set  The Open Sea,
which is a wonderful stampset for men's cards.

Paper and inside sentiment are by Club Scrap.

Thank you for looking.

Have a creative day!

TJ Distress Gesso Resist with an Italian twist

In honour of our new DT member at
Paulette designed this fun stamp set,
because Ileana is from Italy.

Welcome Ileana and we are looking forward to
see your artwork. You can have a look at her blog here:

This card is made with a background
from the new Technique Junkies
CD called Artisic effects and
one of the Italian digital stamps.
Buona Fortuna means Good Luck
and of cource that is my wish for Ileana.

This is the Distress Gesso Resist background
and sometimes it comes out so nice that at first
you do not want to cover it. So I made a picture
and now I can reuse it. You can steel it from me
if you like it by saving it with a right
mouse click to your computer.

The banners are made with water color paper and
just adding distress stain and flick some water drops
on it and dry with heat gun.

The focal image of the butterfly is colored with distress
markers. The butterfly is printed twice. The second
butterfly is added to the first with a piece of
foam tape and finished with a layer of glitter glue.

Have a creative day!
