Bookmark

Today not a card, I wanted to do something different.
I love reading (just finished the new Harry Potter!)
and I am always looking for my bookmark.
Today I made 3 new ones.

I was with a friend and found these great
bookmark stamps in her stash
(we just don't know what firm made them).

I started with stamping on a piece of scrap paper
with black ink.

I also stamped with a script stamp on the dress
and than i took out my pecils for coloring.

Next i took out the small dragonfly stamp and die
by Michael Strong. After stamping
and embossing the dragonfly I colored it with
distress ink from my craft sheet.

Then  I took the mask of the die and put it over the
stamped image, marked the dots and....

took the mask off and added the metal die.
A little piece of tape keeps the die in place.

Now the dragonflies are ready to add to the bookmark.

This bookmark has used the same stamp, but here
I embossed the image in gold on the same green paper.
Image collored and the dragonflies embossed
and cut with the die.

The 4rd bookmark is a more Asian background
with Michael Strong's small cloisonné crane stamps.
The background is stamped on a more pink piece of
scrap paper with black ink. The flowers are colored with
pencil. The craines are embossed with black embossing
powder and cut with scissors. Decorated with tiny sticky pearls.

Yhank you for looking,
have a creative day!

Saturday Sketch Card: Christmas in July

I love the idea of Christmas in July,
so when I noticed this sketch on the
I had a Christmas card idea
and while I was at it, it became 3 cards
in a jiffy. Great start for this years cards.

This is the sketch to follow,
fun and easy.

The focal point of the cards is the
snowman bauble stamp by Michael Strong.
The stamp isstamped with versamark and embossed in silver.
The background is colored with broken china distress ink
and splashed with a little water. The sentiment is
by Stampin'Up! The background paper
is from one of those paper blocks.

Card #2 is done on a plain white folded card
with silver cut out at the bottom (thinlits from
SU!)  and the snowman stamped and embossed in white
and colored with broken china distress ink.

Finally the 3rd  card where the snowman bauble
is stamped and embossed in silver and leaving the
white paper uncolored.

Each of the baubles is decorated with a snowflake
and a sticky pearl.

Thank you for looking,
have a creative day!

Sunday scrap page: open house

Happy Sunday to you all!
My scrap page today is about an open house I gave last week.
I flyered around the neighborhood and hoped people
would be interested in learning about the stamping technique.
I did this for two days and a few people came. Will doit again
in September and hopefully some more people will come.

For my page I used Club Scrap papers
and Michael Strong stamps.

OK, there is a little coffee in the background,
that is because of the title I gave the open house: Coffee & Card.
I used the coffee steam stamp for decoration.
Here you seeme ready just before and it gives you a
little view of my craft room.

I thought the  Scrap hypno paper was fun to use as a background.

And because it is an open house, Mike's house stamp
was perfect tu use here. On all the doors you see in the page
I added a little pearly doorknob.
On the journaling part, there is the house again and here
the door opens and inside you read "welcome".

Thank you very much for looking
and have a wonderful and creative week!

Stamp Preview by FromTheHeartStamps
If you like this digitl stamp set and want to play too
you can  find it here. This set is called Time to Bloom.

So I did the twist with the patterned paper too.
It gives the card lots of colors. I used the flowers
and the butterflies from this set. Printed them out and
colored the images with SU! markers and cut themout.
The butterflies are in two layers. The head is a red sticky pearl
and the antennea are those you can also use for flowerstems.

The sentiment is cut out with a die and colored around
the edges with red ink and the corners decorated with
green sticky pearls.

Thank you for looking!

Have a creative day!
