Scrap June Boardwalk Blog Hop

Welcome to the
were we show you our projects
made with the Club Scrap June kit.

I hope you arrived here from
and seen her inspiration for this lovely kit.

My project for today is the wonderful box frame card.
I have seen these around lately and  just love looking at them,
so why not try these myself! I started making 3 of
them in red of white and blue.

So here is the tutorial:

To make a box you need a 12 x12 inch piece of paper
and a score board (if you have one). Score all sides
at: 1 - 1 1/2 - 2 1/2 - 3 inch.
Now score at one side of the border only until the 2nd scoreline
at 4 and 8 inch. Now turn the paper 180 degrees and do the
same. So this is only at 2 sides.

Take a scissor and start cutting the 3 x 3 inch scquares at all corners.

For the final cut, co to the 4 inch line and cut untilthe
2nd score line, then cut diagonally until the 3rd line.
Do the same at the 8 inch score and on the other side of the paper.

Now you can fold all the score lines towards the inside
and you see the box starting to form.
Best way to glue is first to glue the long parts
and then the part with the corner.
To make these boxes standing up,
you need a strip of paper: 6 x 12 inch and fold
at 6 inch. Glue half of the card to the back of the box
and now you have a way to have the box stand up.
You can also use this as a card to write somithing
for the person you give this box too.

Now you want to see the result:

Here are all 3 together. All pictures inside
the box are 4 x 4 inch and are taken on
the beach of Noordwijk, The Netherlands.

Box 1: I just love the crab that came with
this kit as a rubber stamp. So much fun to
use.I added some glossy accent to his body
to give him a shiny shield.
And if you have had a look at my blog yesterday,
You have seen this as a sneak peek. It is hidden
behind this crabby box to wish you all
a very happy Summer and to show you
how you can use this box as a card.
You add the image to the backof the stand.

Box 2: swimming in the see fits
perfect with the vintage swimming suits.
For the Artist challege there were handmade embellishments
and here is another of my button flowers.
 You see the instructions here.

Box 3: Picture perfect.
I love this picture and I just created this 3d scene
with elements of the kit.The beach chair is a die I have.

Thank you somuch for looking and i hope you
will also hop over to
and see what she has come up with for you,

Thank you for looking
and have a creative day!

More sketches!

Been working at some sketches with the
digital images from the Club Scrap
Boardwalk kit. Love the images that it came
with and so i printed some papers too to make
these cards. I also used some Club Scrap Dungarees
papers to make the card base.

The first card I made for this weeks Mojo Monday 452.

The crab is made with a die from Echo Park.
The sandy background is the same as I showed yesterda
how to do. You find this here.

The second sketch is the June sketch on the
Club Scrap forum. I had not played for some time,
so I needed to make one.
Also for this card I used the digital kit printed
on paper and the base card from CS Dungerees.
Again i used the beach background.it looks great
in combination with the red, white and blue colors.
Love the baker'stwine in those colors that came
with this month Boardwalk kit.
The image of the crap I covered with glossy accent
to give it a more lively impression.

If you like this Boardwalk digital kit, you find it
here for only $ 6,15.

I also enter my cards for the D.L. Art  Blog:
Anything Goes.

Club Scrap Technique of the Month: Embellishment

The technique of the month at the Club Scrap blog
is home made embellishments. I love that!!
Thank you Tina for coming up with this fun idea.
And as I always wanted to make these crochet
flowers from a button, this is the time to do it!

Stamps are from this months Club Scrap kit Boardwalk.

I also found a good video for those of you who want to
give this technique a try:

Click on the image above and the video
will start to play.

It is really an easy thing to do and does not take a lot of time
(when you know how tocrochet that is).
I had a little bit of this natural colored cotton with a
tiny gold trough it. Perfect for my vintage card.

And as for the beach, I thought of an old but
much loved technique. Use a piece of torn post it,
a blending tool and an inkpad.Move the post it
note and ink it up every time you move it.

After stamping the image with walnut stain, I put the
inkpad on the craft sheet, alittle water and a brush
to color the image.

I have some more embellishment ideas, but no more time.
See you around sometime this week!

Have a creative day!

Sketch challenges!

Yes, i do love sketch challenges and today iImade two
cards with my digital Club Scrap Boardwalk images.
There are fun papers and imgaes and sentiments
and I love to print them on real paper to make my cards.
Soon to be combined with the rubber stamps that arrived today.
Now I only need to cut them for use.

The first sketch is from the Monday Mojo Blog and is
sketch 451.

For the second card I used the sketch from the

For this one i started out with embossing the white paper
with the lines and adding a little  Club Scrap Topaz ink
to give it a beach impression. The sequins adthe
seaside ide (they re from my stash). Now it is time to go
outside and sit in the sun and read a book and being lazy!

Now both cards also qualify for the
red white and blue challenge on the
DL.ART
Diana Larson has the most beautiful ribbons
that are handdyed and you find them here.

that come with the digital download.
ColorChallenge-001
This kit is just perfect to participate in
this color challenge on the

For my card I used red and blue Dungerees papers
and I printed out the images and the digital paper.
I printed the images twice so I could cut out the vintage
swimming suits and added them with foam tape.

The red dotted background is made with an embossing
folder and I added some red ink on top of the dots.
