Simon Says: Whatever The Weather

Haven't done this in a very long time, but today I got out
my art journal and looked at all the pages I had worked on
with my gelly plate and rolled my brayer, but neer made them into
a finished page.

So I choose one of the pages for the challenge on the
Whatever The Weather.
As it starts to bloom around here, I wanted to do
a Spring page. Looking through my stamps, I decided
to use the stampset Oopsie Daisy by Club Scrap.
I stamped this stamp on a bookpage and colored
it with distress markers and a watercolor brush.

I aso used a stencil on the image.

Other flowers from the same set stamped on a bookpage
and colored with aquarel paint.

After coloring I cut them out and glued them
at random on the page, where I also used
stencils on the background.

With Spring I also thing of birds, so I stamped some birds on
tissue paper and colored them with theaquarel paint,
cut them out and glued them to the page.
This sentiment is stamped  with little wooden
alphabet stamps.

This sentiment is from the Club Scrap set Spring Chorus.

The sentiment you see here is from the Oopsie Daisy set.

The girlI found on internet by dooing a google search
for vintage Spring girl. I printed her on copy paper
and cut out and glued to the page.

Thank you for looking and
have a creative day!

You find this color challenge on the

I used the following stamps for my card:
Tim Holtz Bird Crazy CMS212
Tim Holtz Mini Bouquet CMS269
Tim Holtz Halftone & Rings CMS260
Good thoughts CMS085

I want to share with you how I made this card:

1. get the colors out and my idea was to use the bird stamp.

2. I stamped the bird and the flower on the card
and on a  post-it note for cutting out. After the images are cut out,
I coverd the original stamped images on the card.
3. When the images are covered I used the pear pizzazz
and the halftone stamp for the background of the panel.
4. On top of the background the sentiment is stamped.

5. The flower is colored with the Daffodil Delight
stampin'blend markers.
6. The bird is colored with the ink from the inkpads
and a watercolor brush.

Of course my card is for day 20 of

Birds of a Feather

Here my card for the Monday Challenge
"Birds of a Feather".
Again made with the scraps on my table.
The musical background was a piece left over
from a Club Scrap challenge and is fun for
tweeting of the birds.

I love those crazy birds by Tim Holtzand had some stamped
images on my table as well as the green background paper.
The Stampin'Up! coffee cup was the last one from
all the cut outs that were on my table. The silver nest
is a thinlit by Stampin'Up! and a ribbon by Diana Larson.

The sentiment is also by Tim Holtz, I just added
the coffee to it (Altenew). The birds were colored with
zig markers. After coloring I added some drops of water
and got this lovely effect.

Thank you for looking
and have a creative day!

Here my version of my tag for the
Tim Holtz challenge of the 12 tags.
You find the original tag and
all technique explanations on the
Here is my tag, not with the skull,
but with the crazy birds.I just love them.
For the background I used some of the Tim Holtz
embossing paper.I sanded it and the letters popped up.
The background taki colored around the edges with
black sooth ink and a blending tool.
For the birds I colored two pieces of manilla apaper with
purple and orange. Then I used it to stamp the birds on.
With the thinlits I cut out the birds. On the orange bird, purple wings
and on the purple bird came an orange wing.
The eyes are cut out of white paper and colored with a
yellow marker.
When I added the spider to the ribbon, I noticed
the spiderweb on the background. Just the right spot!

and each bird has a little treat bag
for the sweets.

The sentiment is fromSimple Sayings and stamped
on orange paper with black archivalink.

This is Tim's tag.

Thanks for looking.
Have a creative day!

Tim Holtz September tag: Shanah Tovah

On the first day of the Jewish New Year,
I share with you my Tim Holtz
On Tim's blog you can see all the original
instructions for his tag,
but I made my own version.
I started with making the backround tag with
the following distress sprays: brushed pewter, peeled paint
and iced spruced.

Next is to make the alcoholink background.
As I noticed my gold was dried (need to buy a new bottle)
I choose touse the silver for this tag.

After splashing the ink on my craftsheet,
I did the direct to paper technique and

this is the result.

As i do not have the same paste, Tim used on his,
I took out the texture paste and added this with
a credit card.

When the stencil is off it looks like this.
When all was drie, I colored the paste with
cracked pistachio distress ink.
I choose to get the Crazy Birds out for my tag.
Stamped themon manilla paper and colored them.
On top alayer of frosted film for glitter effect.
The apples are punched out of a piece of scrap paper
and colored with cracked pistachio ink. Added with
a foam tape to the bird. The bird is cut out with my new thinlets!!

The sentiment for this card is in Hebrew and means:
a Happy and Sweet New Year.
It is embossed in silver on gray paper to give the
metal inpression.

Close up of the bird with the apple, covered with glossy acent.
Why the apples? On New Years eve we eat a sweet apple with
honey to wish each other a very sweet year,

Have a creative day!
