Hanukkah

Tonight we light the first candle for Hanukkah.
We will do so for 8 days: every day one candle more.
But there are 9......?
Number 9 is the helper candle. This one lights the other candles.
You want to know more about this Jewish Holiday?
Take a look HERE.
This first card is made with rubber stamps by

For the background I  stamped the dreidel in versamark
and clear embossingpowder. Next I colored the paper with
broken china distress oxide ink and stamped the Hebrew letters.
This is called a resist technique.

The image and sentiment are embossed with black embossing
powder and colored a little with a blue marker.

For the second card I used a combination of the
Zum Gali Gali window/ dreidel stamp, Tim Holtz stencils
and the Stampin Up sentiment. No special technique here.
And this card is made with only Tim Holtz stencils
and a Stampin Up sentiment.
Every year I hope that Tim will have something
I can use for Hanukkah, like a candle, or a
6 pointed star or at least Happy Hanukkah.
Not that i have not asked him...but no result so far :-(

I made the candles out of the stencil THS102
by covering it with post-it notes.

The stars are first done with markers and stencil
Falling stars THS 115   and then with fossilized amber and
a blending tool to make the stars glitter.

The background is done with the
latticework THS 019 and vintage
oxide ink.

Thank you so much for looking
and have a wonderful Hanukkah!

The Daily Marker Color Challenge

there is a 30 day color challenge.
i am going to try to color something
every day of Febuary.

You find all the details of this color challenge
and you can also upload your projects there.
As today is Groundhog's day, i looked
online for a coloring image and found
this cute image on a teacher's site.

Oh, you have no idea what is Groundhog's Day?
Well, I had to look it up too and found it HERE.
The image was a little different, but I left out some thing
and used this for my card to pint for coloring.

So here is the start of my coloring that
I shared on instagram.

For the background of this card I used the direct to
paper technique with ground expresso oxide distress ink.
Next I used the speckles stencil by Tim Holtz
and the same ink.  The sun behind the groundhog
is a die cut.

Thank you for looking
and have a creative day!

Cupcake Inspiration Challenge: Pink & White

Great find, these Club ScrapValentine stamps from 2009
(Heart to Heart) in my stash and combining it with
a Love Cynthia stamp is a perfect combination.

I made this card for the pink & white color challenge

I started out gathering various shades of pink
stamp inkpads to make the background.
The "be mine heart stamp"is stamped on a seperate
piee of paper as well as the little girl stamp.
The heart is stamped in pink and colored the
heart with a blending tool, leaving the words white
to stamd out.

The girl is colored with blending markers by SU!
and cut out. Added to the card with  foam tape.
This is the inside of the card.
Club Scrap sentiment and more hearts.

Of course a matching envelope
and some sticky pink pearls for extra bling.

Thank you for looking
and have a creative day!
