Sunday Sketch: Turtle & winner

So here is the follow up on yesterday's post.
Inspired by Tricia's sketch
on her Efficient Crafter's blog
I went to work yesterday with my
 Club Scrap Wisteria papers
and Michael Strong's Lily stamp.
Today i will have three more cards
but this time I used Michael Strong's

You need:
3x 12x12 pieces of cardstock
and 6 panels 4"x 5.25"

Of course Tricia made it assembly style,
so take another look for those instructions
at her blog HERE.
When you cut and assembly everything for the
cards, you have material for 6 cards.
Here you see the tree cards I have made today.
This time I just used some extra paper to stamp the turtle on.

For this card I  stamped the sea weed
on the background with a darker green
and with a larger green I colored the paper
 with my blending tool.

The turtle is embossed with silver embossing poswder
and some puple on it's shield. The animal is coldored
with distress markers.

The sentiment is by Club Scrap.
Here I used the turtle in purple for
the background and only a little
seaweed is stamped and embossed in green
 on the small square.

The sentiment here is also by Club Scrap.

Here you see the same background as the
first card. And green embossing on
the back of the turtle who
is also colored with distress markers.

The jellyfish and the sentiment are Club Scrap.

And now for the winner of my blog candy:
the turtle stamp!

The winner is:

Saturday Sketch: Lily

Inspired by Tricia's sketch
on her Efficient Crafter's blog
I went to work with my
 Club Scrap Wisteria papers
and Michael Strong's Lily stamp.

You need:
3x 12x12 pieces of cardstock
and 6 panels 4"x 5.25"

Of course Tricia made it assembly style,
so take another look for those instructions
at her blog here.
When you cut and assembly everything for the
cards, you have material for 6 cards.

So here are my finished cards.
I did not always keep exactly to the sketch,
but I did use all the elements.
Today I share the first three with you.
The first one has a background made with
alcohol ink
and the big lily stamp is colored with pencil.
The sentiment is by Club Scrap.

The 2nd card is a background done with
viva decor inka gold. On the dark purple
and on the inka gold the lily background stamp
is stamped with versamark and embossed in
 orient express embossing powder.
Sentiment also by Club Scrap.

This last card is a;sp done with an alcohil ink
background. The small lily stamp is from the

I am working on three more cards, but
I keep those for tomorrow.
See you then!

Have a creative day!

164\\

This is one of the sketches from
This is an organization, that provides
cards for the US soldiers overseas that you make.
You find all info here:
I choose this sketch for the June sketch
I hope that some of you will send your cards to
the OWH organisation.

Here is my card:
I used the cloisonné star stamp
You find it here:
It is a set of two, a large and
a small one. I used the smaller one.
It is embossed with white embossing powder
and a little red gemstone.

The background of the card is
done with a stripped embossing folder
and some white ink after the embossing.

Saturday Sketch card: OWH Sketch #171 Formula

These cards were made with
a formula I found on the
It is the Operation Write Home
formula #171 and Tricia made a drawing
and gives some instructions
that I will copy here for you:

You need 4 pieces of matching cardstock
 of 5,5"x 11"

Chop this way:
1. Trim horizontally at 5.5".
2. Cut one 5.5x8.5 horizontally at 8.25, 5.75 and 3".
3. Cut the 3x5.5 horizontally at 5".
4. Trim the 2.75x5.5 horizontally at 4.5, 3 and 1.5".
5. Cut the 2.5x5.5 horizontally at 3.75, 2.5 and 1.25".
6. Score the remaining 5.5x8.5 horizontally at 4.25" and fold into a card base.

Combining all the pieces
I made these cards:

I used Club Scrap paper and ribbons from
the Bon Appetit kit June 2012.
The stamps are the
Cloisonné F;pwer by Michael Strong
as well as the sentiments.
The front flower is stamped and embossed in pink
and cut out with the matching die.
On top of the flower is a sticky gemstone.

On the burgondy panels the flower is stamped
with versamark. This gives a very light
touch of stamping.
Click on the photo to see a more
enlarged version. Here you see the
background with the flowers much better.

The black paper of the flower was colored
with Viva Decor Inka Gold in the color
Platinum 904 before stamped on.
The sentiment on this card is by  Club Scrap.

For this card the pannels were colored with
the same Platinum Inka Gold.
