Club Scrap March technique: create your own background

Welcome at the Club Scrap technique challenge.

Every onth one of the girls from the Artist Team

is sharing a technique and this month it is the

talented Tina who is into background techniques.

She has to posts with lots of ideas for backgrounds:

For my background technique I used 2 stencils, a stamp

and one color of ink (sapphire).

The first stencil is from the new Delft kit.

I colored the background, but not to heavy.

Next i used an older stencil from January 2013 Random 

Doorways. I only used the flower in the middle and

colored more heavy several times the flower.

After two stencils it looks like this.

Then i took the cracle stamp from the Delft kit

and stamped all over the background panel.

So here you see the finished background.

Doesn't it look like a tile?!

I printed the tulips from the digital Delft kit 

and colored it with markers. I love that sentiment,

but i wrote it again in a line that was better for

my card today instead of the square look.

I had printed the flowers twice, so I coud add a more

dimentional look on the flowers. With the sentiment in place

 and a ribbon added the card is finished.

I have tulips all over, it is the tulip season!

Thank you tags

I need to move some of my stamps.

My room is getting full and there is

so much new stuff on the market.

I have made a resolution: 

only something new comes in

when I have moved something old.

So I started my 2nd hand stamp blog:

some SU vintage stamps,

some Club Scrap stamps

and more stamps.

But.....

when they are sold,I always want to

add a nice card to say thank you.

This is what I came up with:

I have all these backgrounds that I made and are waiting 

to be made into something

So I got out some of my thank you stamps.

inks and background stamps.Stamps are all 

Club Scrap

.I cut them all tag size

(so it meant cutting most of them in half)

Used a punch to cut of top corners and a 

cropadile to make a whole in the top for the ribbon.

On top of the backgrounds I used these wooden

Club Scrap stamps with inks that match the colors

of the tags. I used the inks also around the tag.

More scraps used to stamp with the thank you stamps

and also I thought enjoy would be nice

After stamping,cutting the words appart and 

also used some corner punches to make the words

into tags. Used ink around the border.

I stapled the sentiment to the tag

and added a ribbon. One tag finished!

TJ Emboss Washi tape & CS NSD challenge 2

Today I am combine several issues:

1. participating in the NSD challenge at Club Scrap

2.my Saturday card for the Michael Strong group

3. my daily postings for the Technique Junkies group

So let's start with the Club Scrap challenge:

The teme trough all these challenges is my

woodgrain embossing folder and I liked the post 

from Tricia, Kay and Karen sharing their ideas

about what to do with the foldere HERE.

So I started with technique 1. by Tricia

using dark paper and white ink

When the card was finished it turned out

that this card was also my Saturday card for

the Michael Strong group!

I used Club ScrapAspen papers

Michael Strong's Owl stampand a sentiment Joanne.

Also I did Kay's technique with the gelato's:

Here I used Club Scrap Aspen papers

and It's a hoot ruber stamps.

The owlis colored with pencil.

Now as for the Technique Junkies post,

I chose the Embossed Washi Tape technique from

the Oct/Nov 2013 newsletter

All stamps and papers are Club Scrap's 

Aspen kit. Washi tape from stash.

Now I was having so much fun with my embossing

folder, that I came up with another technique with the gelatos.

Here is a little tutorial:

Color your embossing folder with gelatos

and spray a little water over it.

Add some paper and run it trough your machine.

And look how beautiful it is when you open

the embossing folder.

Quickly wash your embossing folder

to take the gelatos off.

And this is the finished card

with Club Scrap's Aspen papers

and It's a hoot stamps.

Trick or Treat

Here another card to inspire you for Halloween.

This time I used Michael Strongs

Halloween Silhouettes.

As this card has a completely different

background as yesterday, i will share again

how i made this background with you.

First you cut a circle with a large punch

or use a spellbinder. Save the paper

you cut it from, you need it too.

I used 3 different colors of orange ink

and a sponge.

Start with the lightest color close to the circle

and make it darker towards the outside.

When finished with orange, take yellow ink

and the piece of paper you cut the circle from

to color the circle on the inside.

To make the earth under the moon use some

post it paper that you tear. You can either color

all of it black in one go, or

move the paper several times to have mire structure.

It is an old trick, but much loved.

Here you see the finished background before

the cat is stamped on the moon.

The bats are cut out with the

Halloween Confetti dies

and the sentiment on the card

is from Tim Holtz Simple Sayings set.
