Sunday Scrap page: Birthday

Here is my scrap page for today.

It is for the Weekly Chronicles

on the Club Scrap forum.

The theme is "Silly", but honestly

I could not come up 3with anything,

so I decided to scrap my DD's 22nd birthday.

And I found a real cool birthday

subway art in the right colors of the paper.

And in the middle you see the birthday cake

made out of the Michael Strong

cloisonné pot and a circle accent.

Stamp the pot with orient express

embossing powder and cut

the shape with scissors.

Stamp the circle accent with

pearlescent ivory and punch out

the circles with a 1"circle punch.

You need 5 circles and the large

part of the pot.

Doesn't it look delicious?!

Workshop Michael Strong at Art Specially Zeist

Last week there was a big

stampshow in The Netherlands:

The Art Specially Event

in Zeist.

Michael Strong was also here

and gave a free make&take

all weekend.

On Saturday he made greenhouses.

First people colored the paper with

different colors of inka gold paint.

This dries very quickly, so on top

the house was embossed with

pearlscent ivory embossing powder.

The house was cut out and  matted on

a piece of gold paper.and glued to the

card. With leave and flower punches

and the left over colored paper the ribbon

 of gold was decorated next to the house.

 

On Sunday there was a different workshop.

Chocolate card with the heart embossed with

orient express embossing powder.

Mike made me a version with the coffee

cup as well. The border of the card is made

out of different sizes circles and little

punched out hearts.

The card is ale decorated with a dark

chocolate pearl pen that leaves little

pearl dots.

 

So today I made a combination of these

two cards.

First I colored my paper with gold and red

inka gold paint by Viva Decor

Then I stamped the cloisonné heart on top

with versamark and embossed it with orient

express embossing powder. When finished the

heart is cut out.

For de border I used a few circle punches

and the heart punch.

Also I used a red pearl pen by Viva Decor.

The sentiment is by Stampin Up! (Whimsical Words).

The dots are also on the heart.

Spring Subway Art

Every month Paulette from

makes a subway art and posts

colored with pencil and distress ink.

Another card with flowers and the

April subway art.

This time it is a folded card, that is

partly closed ( 2 inch).

Flowers are by Michael Strong and

embossed in gold. In the middle

a hole is punched and a ribbeon

goes through and tied in a bow.

Inside also a sentiment by Create with TLC.

CTLC coffee image

Here a wonderful new set by Paulette

My idea was to make a coffee cup

shaped card and I was inspired by this

the instructions to make a card like this.

When you take of the lid of

the cup, you see a card inside.

It is a wonderful card

to add a giftcard

as a present.

Here you see all of the inside of the card.

If you do not want to use it

for a gift card, you can add

an sentiment inside.

And now on to our

FASHION SHOW

With the free image, I created the above card

and you know me, I have an easy tutorial for you

to make this wonderful background paper.

Grab your freebie here with the

right mouse click and safe it to your

computer. Remember where you put it!!

So what do you need:

a page from a fashion magazine

a template (or a cut out from the fasion magazine!)

gesso

acrylic paints

brush

heat gun

sewing machine

1. start with adding a little gesso

on top of the magazine paper

and DRY it with your heat gun before

next step.

2. Take a few colors of acrylic paint.

Start with the first color and cover

the paper just a little. DRY it

and add another layer of gesso. DRY it.

3. You can repeat this a few times with

as many colors as you want to use to

make an interesting page.

Don't forget to dry it in between.

4. Take your mask (or the one you cut yourself)

and lay this on top of your paper.

5. Take a pruch with gesso and cover around the masks.

6. This is how it looks when you take

of the masks.

7. Quickly clean your mask with a baby whipe

before doing anything else.

Now your paper is ready to use for the

background of your card.

Because this is a fashion hop, I added some

real sewing to the background.

First I glued the magazine paper to

 a piece of scrap paper and then

I used my sewing machine. Just did

some random sewing and zig zag stitches.

If you click on the photo you can see a larger

version and a more close up to the finished paper.

 and colored with color pencil.

Here another card

 colored with pencil.

This is a stairstep card, an easy fold

(see next picture) card. The background is made

with scrapbook paper and some dress up dies (SU!)

Card size is 5x5 inch and de front is folded in half.

All together the card is 15x 5 inch.
