Club Scrap Retreat project 2: Magnetic Board

Here we are back at the
Club Scrap Retreat in Wisconsin.
Now I share with you the Magnetic Messenger class,
whchj was by Jacq. If you like the project,
you can find it here:

As you can see we were all very busy doing
this project, for if you want to finish it,
you just kept on working:
tearing and glueing, tearing and glueing.

It came with the metal, the paper and everything
else you needed to make this board. I love the bottle cap
magnets we made in the end to hold your messages.

Because this was so heavy in my suitcase
I gave it away as a present to the friend
I stayed the night before flying home. This way she
had a memory of the retreat too (she unfortunately
could not come with us).

Have a creative day!

Club Scrap Retreat Project 1: card box

This card box is one of the projects we made at the
Club Scrap 2013 Retreat.It was Tricia's
project. One day we did the cards with
stamping technique and great new neon dabbers
and the other day we made the box with the help
of a score-pal.
Of course I want to share some Retreat-class pictures with you.
Here you see Tricia explaining to us what to do
and how many cards we are oing to make.

We got stamps, the neon dabbers and neon inkpads
to play with and mainly it was a class where
you could experiment and see what you can do with
all the toys.
You can find all inks and dabbers in the Club Scrap
shop HERE and the stamps are HERE.
So after some instructions we all start to work.
Cut the papers and stamp, stamp, stamp!
It was fun also to see what everyone else was up to.
This way you always get some new ideas.
When you throw your dabber at the paper you get thes great
ink blotches. Wonderful to use for flowers.
So,thanks somuch, Tricia for this great
box full of ideas.
I took mine home unfinished. Had to glue
all the cards together and here is the result:
12 small cards : 2,5 x 2,5 inch

6 large cards: 4 1/4 x 5,5 inch

all tied with a ribbon in a wonderful box

with a beautiful lid to finish it of.

I am going to make more of these boxes for sure!!

Sint Maarten/ St. Martin's Day

I am ready for Sint Maarten!
Well what is that, you may ask:
It is a typicalDutch childrens holiday
and not even everywhere in the Netherlands.

This is what wikipedia says:

It is a little bit like Halloween,
only kds don't dress up.
They come by your house and they sing
a song and after this you give them a treat.

On Saturday my dd and I started
to make the treat boxes together.
Punching and

cutting was the beginning.
and a lot of folding and glueing.
I got the idea for these boxes here:
I just changes the size of the box to a
little bigger one to fit the candy.
The pictures that are on the boxes
are color pages i found of figures with
lanterns. I resized them to make them fit here.

Now I have everything ready for the kids to come
this evening when it starts getting dark.
Wonder if I will hav enough...you never know!

This card is made with a digital image by
Create with TLC and the cloisonné circle stamp

It was a wonderful evening.
Lots of children came by and
not one of my treat boxes are left!

Have a creative day!

Sunday Scrap Page: SYTYCD

This week for
the theme is "What a character"
and the page is all about Liam today.

He is the brother of my DD's husband (get it?!).
He is a dancer and this year he decided it was time
to audition for So You Think You Can Dance.
And yes he was chosen!
The gave him a golden ticket, so he could
go to bootcamp in Spain. There he learned
to dance the flamingo. Out of all the couples,
he was chosen for the live show!

Now everyone prepared to go to the show.
T-shirts were made and lots of messages on
facebook and twitter. Wonderful time for
the family.
Liam lasted 4 shows. Every time the family was there to support
and cheer him and make pictures.
With some of these pictures I made this page.
I used Club Scrap Peacock papers and
Michael Strong's cloisonné alphabet stamps.
If you want to read the text, just clickon the
photo and you get a larger version.

The streamer on the side is wrist band they
got in the television studio. I wanted to use it on
the page as decoration.

On the left you see Liam's flyers for the show
and on the right a collage of pictures Yael made
for facebook.

This picture was made in the studio. Two big supporters!
They were there all the way. To the family Liam is
a winner anyway. Now we follow the show and
see  who is the big winner in the end.
A few more shows to go. What an experience this was.

Saturday Sketch and new stamps

Two great friends have new stamps
and they match perfectly!
Michael Stong has the new
and my friend Joanne makes
matching sentiments.

The first card is for the sketch challenge
on the Michael Strong yahoogroup.

This card is made with the large seahorse
and the seaweed from the turtle set.
The seahorse set has a big and a small sea horse.
For this card I used the small stamp.
I embossed it in blue and colores with
distress reinker tumbled glass.
Little gemstones are added on the sea horse
and is stuck to the background with a piece of
foam tape.
The sentiment is again by Joanne

This card is made with the turtle stampset
from Michael Strong and one
of Joanne's sentiments.

Sunday Scrappage: Story Time

Here I am with another of my weekly
scrap papges. This time the theme on the
Club Scrap forum is: Story time.

Well,with alittle one aroundwholikes books,
it is always story time! This timeit is grandpa's turn.

To read the text just click on the photo for
a larger version.
I make the text with my computer and print it
on the paper. This time I used Club Scrap's
Bookshelves paper.

Owen loves elephants,so this time it was easy to
choose one of Michael Strong's stamps.
I stamped it with versamark and embossed with oriental
express embossing powder.
I stamped the small elephants with brown archivalink
on the background paper.

This is the (Dutch) booklet opa has been reading from.
It is about a cat who goes to the zoo. Owen knows
some of the animals now and what noise they make.

Day of hte Dead

In celebration of the
Day of the Dead,
I made my card today.
If you want more info about
what exactly this means go HERE.

Lately some of my friends lost
their dear ones and I am sure
they think about them a lot these days.
But also those we lost long ago
can be still very dear to us and
we should never forget the happy
moments we had with them.
I like the colorfulimages the Mexicans use for their
decorations on this day and i tried to have this in my card too.
The skull I used is from Tim Holtz Mini Halloween3 stamps.
I decorated it with a white pen and a pink color pencil.
On top i used Michael Strong's mini cloisonné flower
that I embossed with black on neon pink paper.

The green background is stamped
 with  Michael Strong's lily
background stamp in black ink
and colored with white and green pencil.

The sentiment is by Create with TLC.

Here a close upof the skull.

Hopr you all have many beautiful memories
of your deceased loved ones.

Have a creative day!
