Rosh Hashanah cards

More cards for the Jewish New Year.
You find info about the Jewish New Year HERE.

As you know I am good friends with Michael Strong
and he planned to make a "Fruit"-set this year,
but it did not happen. I was sad for I had hoped
for an apple that I could use for my cards.

Now look what has happened:
Mike made a digital stamp for me
and all of you to use. You can find the image here:

Just click on the image and save it to your computer.
There are many ways you can use the image.
If you are good with digital programs, you can
color the image digital and add a sentiment and
print your card for sending.

As you know I am more of the paper type, so I want to
share with you how I made my cards.

First I printed a few apples on cardstock.
I dud some different sizes.
Then on put some colorson my craft sheet and
add water with a spray bottle.

Taking a piece of paper and put it on
the craftsheet to add color to it.

This is how the paper look when taking of the
craft sheet. Now I let it dry (you can also use your heat gun).

While the background is drying, I color the apple
with the same colors as the ink,but using distres marker.
Adding the squeezed lemonade for the core
of the apple.

After coloring i spray a little water on the ink
to get the distress effect. Dry with heatgun.

Cut the apple with scissors. Oops, now we have no leave!
What to do?
Doing the same direct to paper technique with
a piece of scrap with cracked pistachio distress ink.

Take a leave punch (or die) and cut some leaves.
Add some extra ink around the leave.

I added the apples with foamtape to the card.
The sentiment is by Zum Gali Gali
and the Hebrew means Happy New Year.

The sentiment on this card is alsoby Zum Gali Gali.
The bees are from Michael Strongs Hannah's BusyBee set.
On the wings I added someglossy accent.
Here you see a larger apple.I cut thi one to size for the card
and then did the diirect to paper technique.
When dried the apple was also colored with the distress
markers. The sentiment was stamped with the  red and
green distress ink.

Hope this gives you some ideas as what to do
with a digital image.
Have a creative day!

Make it colorful!

Simon Wednesday Challenge Blog

Today I am in a cheerful mood
and found a challenge that fitted my mood

Make a colorful card!
The Cantina kit by Club Scrap was the first that
came to my mind to use for this challenge.
This kit came with such happy and bright colors.
I took the yellow and pink fro that kit in combination
with the turquoise from the Lake kit.

The Club Scrap Lake kit had also some wonderful
vellum and I used it to make the buterfly.
The butterfly die is by Stampin'Up! and i used it first
to cut the butterfly out of the yellow for another card.
I used the left over panel for this card.
I stamped it with neon pink and green with
Club Scrap stamps from Botanicals.

Here you see I added the vellum butterfly and
only glued it in the middle,so it is free from the card.
I also added some bling to give the card even more color.

To finish the card i stamped the sentiment in versamark
and embossed it with lime green embossing powder.
The sentiment is from the Club Scrap kit Sorrento.

And to finish the card completely I used some
organza ribbon from the Lake kit.

Thank you for looking!

Have a creative day!

more cards for Rosh Hashanah

I just keep going making cards for the
Jewish New Year with my new made stamp.
You can read all about how I  made the pomegranete stamp
out of a plate of foam HERE.
I also had this other honeycomb stencil, that
This set is also perfect for the occasion, not only
because of the stencil, but also to make use of the
bee stamp. Bees work very hard to make the wonderful
honey that we pour over the apples,or dip the bread in.
So first I colored the background with the stencil.
Then i added the sentiment on top.
The Hebrew "Shanah Tovah" means a a Good Year,
like we say Happy New Year.

Then I added the pomegranates and some bling for the pips.

And last I added the bees with a little yellow coloring
and glitterglue on the wings.
Because of the drying time of the glitter I added the bees last.

I nearly finished all my cards,
one more post tomorrow.

Thanks for looking!
Have a creative day!

Sunday Scrap Page: Beading

Happy Sunday to you all!

Hereis my weekly scrap page.
You see here what I did with my grandson last
Tuesday: beading or as in Dutch: "kralenrijgen"

This weeks page is made with:
Club Scrap's Dungerees papers and a tiny
touch for colors from other kits for the beads.
The letters are from the alphabet stamps

The word omadag is printed with the computer.
I used the Cardenio Modern font, that you can
 find for free HERE

The border I created at the bottom is with
the letters pretending to be beads on the blue ribbon.
The letters ares stamped on different colored pieces
of paper and punched out with an oval punch 3/4"x 1 1/2".

The border with the drawn beads are hand drawn by
me and colored with pencil.
Owen was very proud of his work, he had
to show it to the goats at the childrens farm
where we went later that day!

Saturday card: Wedding Anniversary

The card for today is one for a friends
Wedding Anniversary.
It is a gatefold card, which means it opens
in the middle.

For this card I used:
Michael Strong's large heart stamp
Michael Strong's number stamps
Stampin'Up! bird builder punch
Stampin'Up! heart stencil
small flower punch

Here you see how the card opens up.
The heart and the bird on the right side
keep the card closed.

The heart is embossed in white on red paper,
then gluesd to gold paper andcut with a small border.

The birds are punched out and embossed with
an embossing folder. The eye is a tiny sticky pearl.

On the background I used a heart stencil and gold
encore ink for coloring the hearts.
The leaves and flowers are also punched out of red
and white paper. In the heart of the flowers you also
see a tiny red sticky pearl.
Inside the card you find a wish.
It is the Dutch word for congratulations.

Thanks very much for looking!

Have a wonderful day!

Cards in progress

The Jewish New Year is around the corner:
14/15 September
To learn more about the symbols of the
Jewish New Year you can read about it HERE.

so I am quite late with my cards. In need of some
quick cards and this is what I came up with:

I choose to use the pomegranete for my cards, but did not
have a stamp of this fruit. So I drew one on paper,
cut it out and took some foam plate to cut out the stamp.
On the back I smeared some Club Scrap mount-it solution.
This is a solution that you add on the back of unmounted
rubber stamps to make them stick to an acrylic block.
While the solution was drying,I took the front panel of the card
at hand for decoration.

With the honecomb stencilof Club Scrap and a topaz
inkpad and a blending tool, I colored the background for this card.

On top in Hebrew a new year wih. It is "Shanah Tovah",
which means "a Good Year".
Now I used my foam stamp to make a border of
pomegranates on the bottom of the card.
I used Club Scrap ruby inkpad to stamp.

For the finished card I used papers from the kit
Dungarees and Mountains by Club Scrap.
On this card I also used the gemstones that came with
the Woven Strands kit. This symbolizes all the
pips inside the fruit.

Here i decorated the card with a ribbon around
the pomegranetes.

Thanks for looking!
More soon to follow.

Have a creative day!

Cupcake Inspiration Challenge 325

Lately I seem to be hooked on the
challenges on the
I love the colors they pick
or maybe it is the sweet tooth I have.
Who knows?!

As I started making one card.......
I suddenly had a set of 4 cards that
matched the colors of the calenge.

For these cards I used
papers and stamps from the following kits:
Wild Flowers
Bold Blooms
Botanicals
Peacock (Happy Birthday)

The butterfly die is from
I started making this card and you know how
it goes when you start using a die,you just cut two
to have one extra. The wild Flower kit from Club Scrap
came with a card set and wonderful cut out
panels to use on the cards. Makes it just  so easy
for quick cards. The leaves on the border
and the sentimentare from Botanicals.

I fastned the butterflies with only three brads,
so the wings are free of the card and very dimentional.
Oh and there was this other cut out,
wonderful to add another butterfly (I already cut),
sowhy not make anohter card?!
Here i glued the butterfly body to the card and
added some rhinestones.

It sure is a waste to throw away the paper
fromcutting out the butterfly. So why not adding
some paper behind the open shape and add this to the card.
Then I found some purple vellum and cut out
more delicate butterflies to add.
On this card i embossed the orange panel and
added some green ink to the raised parts.
On the body different sizes of lavender rhinestones
are added and the sentiment is stampedon vellum.

For this card I stamped on the orange background with
green ink and a stampfromBold Blooms.
Again the butterfly is from vellum and on the body
I added some white sticky pearls.
