TH September tag

 Another month has gone by
and Tim holtz has posted a new tag
with tutorial and challenged all of us
to add our own version of his tag.
You can see it all here:
http://timholtz.com/12-tags-of-2012-september/
Here is my version of the
September tag. I choose to use Tim's
mini phone die and not the typewriter.
On top i used the T charm (also for telephone)
and I added glossy accent on top
of the painted form to give it the real
old bakelite telephone look.
The imnage i used is by Create with TLC,
I love the vintage image. I pinned some vintage looking
brads on the picture. I used some wire
from the phone to the earpiece,.I wirlt it around
a thin pencil an it gave the phone an even more real look.
And here is the bottom of my tag. Behind the words
you sea a tine bit out of a real phonebook.
(I use pages out of an old phonebook
underneath my stamping!) On the dial I wrote
the numbers and some more wire.

Thanks for looking!
 Have a creative day!

Elephants

Today we are celebrating
Michael Strong's
Cloisonne Elephants Rubber Stamp Set
Don't you love elephants?
Well if you do, see what I have come up with.

I have made an irisfolding  and stamping card for you.
On top of the card you see how I cut out the large elephant
and used it as a template for irisfolding.
You find the template below:
Save this template with the right mouse click
to your own computer and print to use it.
Here you see the finished irisfolding again.
Where it says A and B on the template, I used a large
strip of paper to cover the paws and the tail.
You can do this with a contrasting color if you like.

The sentiment you see here is by Club Scrap.

If you have never done any irisfolding, or
need a refresh course take a look here for my tutorial:

The botom of the card is with the little elephants,
stamped in versamark and embossed with copper
embossing powder. Around the border of the card
I stamped the flower in vintage distress ink.

Here an other sample with irisfolding.
Stamped in black on one side of the card
and in irisfolding technique on the other side.
The sentiment here is also by Club Scrap.

Summer 2012

Another week went by and here is a new  page
for my Weekly Chronicles over at the
Club Scrap forum.

The theme for this week is, what you did
for summer vacation, but  I did not go anywhere.
Though something very special happened.
I became a grandma this summer,
so that is what my page is about.

I used papers from the Sorento kit by Club Scrap
as well as the big cirle flower.
The lettering and the small flower
(click on the photo to see a larger version)

On the flower I  used different colors of
embossing poder to give it this look.
The circle and the scalloped circle are
done with spelbinder dies.
Have a creative day!

Published in Club Scrap Rap

Every month with the new Club Scrap box
one finds an online magazine to download
with wonderful new inspiration
on what to do with the newly received box.

As you all know I am a technique Junkie, so sometimes
I send in an idea for a technique to Tricia Morris
owner of Club Scrap. She liked it so much and
made it into an article in the Scrap Rap magazine.
You see the printed page below.

So for techniquie of the month at the Club Scrap
forum for September, I thought it would be
fun to see what others would make of this technique:
"Acryl Paint Background"

A fun technique for cards, art journaling and scrapbooking.
This is what you need:
acrylic paint: white and colors
paper, white and black
brush, water, scissor
Club Scrap bookbinding glue
masking paper
you can use a stencil
fashion magazine
spray paint, like glimmer mist
white ink pad
stamps
white and black marker
(tip: for white these white correction pens
work wonderfully!)

1.  Start with white and a color of
 acrylic paint.
Color all of the page.

2.    While the paint is drying,
find a magazine and cut out a picture
You can also use your own photo’s.

3.    Glue the magazine cut out
on black paper and cut out together.

4. Take a white inkpad and stamps
to cover the cut out shape
on the black paper side.
    You can use words
or abstract stamps.

5. Take the masking tape to cut out stars
or cicles or flowers etc.

Stick all the stars (or forms you cut out
from the masking paper) on the dried
painted background and find a matching spray ink
 (a little darker).

6. Spray on your paper in a pizzabox

7. Take the stars off the background
and glue your cut out form to
the painted background.
I did this with bookbinding glue
and even added a layer on top
for varnish effect.

8. Finished artwork: use white and black crayon
and white and black marker to doodle
and stamp some wordart and other
decorations to finish your artwork.

This is the page in the Club Scrap magazine.
If you click on the picture
you can see a larger version.
Hope you give it a try
and share your artwork in the Club Scrap forum
 Have a creative day!
