Sunday Scrap Page: Mosaics

I am busy scrapping my pictures from

our trip to Istanbul.

Here is a page about all the mosaics that you see there.

I used a combination of Club Scrap Arifact and Picnic

papers and Michael Strong's  cloisonné frame stamp.

It looks like the frame  was on the wall in Istanbul.

Mike's stamp fits perfect on this page.

Saturday Sketch: thinking of you

This ismy sketch card for June on the

Michael Strong Yahoo stampgroup.

It is a 5"x 5"square card.

For the panelin the middle I used distress paint

and a technique from the Technique Junkies

latest newsletter called splattered ombre watercolors.

On top I stamped Michael Strongs lily background

stamp and embossed this in gold.

The vase is also a stamp by Michael Strong

and this one is embossed in copper.

The sentiment is by Tim Holtz.

Not wanting to throw away the little

parts i cut,I used them to decorate the inside of the card.

Club Scrap Picnic blog hop after party 2

Hi there,

Here is my last project for the 

Club Scrap

June Picnic Blog hop:

it is a hexagon treat box and you can find instrucions

over at the Splitcoaststampers here.

I had this cute little jar filled with jelly beans

that fitted right into the box.

I decorated the lid of the jar with paper

and the sweet stamp from the unmounted rubber

stamps that come with this kit.

The outside is firts stamped with the 

watermelon stamp in versamark to decorate the 

green plain paper paper

and then I added one of the watermelon

cut aparts at the bottom of the box.

To give it an even more summer effect

I made this pinweel.I used the digital kit

to print the paper on two sides.

For the pinweel I used a 3"x 3"square

piece of paper, a button from my stash,apiece of wire

and awooden stick.

Here you see how the stickis fastned to the wheel.

The sentiment is stampedin 

fuchsia and leaf.

It is a cute little gift box

for any occassion and absolutely easy to make.

I could not stop making cards.

I did not want to add so many cards in one blog post,

so here are two more and I have a little project

for tomorrow,so stay tuned.

For this card I made a background called 

"splattered ombere watercolors"

and you can find the tutorial in the

latest Technique Junkies Newsletter.

To me it looked like pistache ice cream

and so this card came into being.

I used a read popsicle stick.

In my Blog Hop post I explained how I made

this picnic basket. I made two and here

is the other one.The picnic cloth is drawn and colored

with markers.

So if you pull the ribbon,you

can read the sentiment.

I absolutely love this new kit and truly,

Club Scrap always knows what we need!

Yes, indeed bbq paper was what I needed, because my dh

got a new bbq for Father's Day this month.

These scrapbook pages look like formula 5&6 from

the free ALSB instructions. I had to move it a bit

around to make it work for my photo's.

You find the ALSB instructions HERE.

Fot the bbq glove stamp I used the kissing technique,

for I did not liuke the glove to be just plain.

Not  familiar  with this technique?

Here is how you do it:

Take the glove stamp and a background stamp

and an inkpad.

Wet the glove stamp with ink.

Take the background stamp and gover the glove

with it (a few times) and take it off.

Now stamp the glove on the paper.

This is the result.

If  you don't get the result you want,

or if you don't like it. You can also stamp the glove

and take a background stamp and 

use  a darker color then the background

to stamp over the glove.

Cut the stamp and maybe color it a little

and this is the result. Ready for use.

My next project is a card.

From the outside it looks quite simple.

Just some design paper and a cut apart.

But here is the inside:

and you see this is a pop up card

with the use of the great embossing folder

that cae with the kit.

Here you see where you can write your message.

How to make it?

This is the start of the picnic basket.

Paper is 3,25" x 3,5" and the fold line is 

0.75"from the top.

Emboss the basket upuntil the fold line vertical

or horizontal, whatever you like best.

And this is one of the finished baskets.

Another way is to stamp and coor the basket

and emboss the handles.

For the card you need two 5,5"x 11" pieces of

paper (decorated for the outside and plain for the inside)

Fold in half. For the plain inside you make two cuts

like you see above on the folded side.

Push the square towards the inside of the card.

This is where you glue the picnic basket.

And here my last card. This is a gatefold card,

with the use of decoated paper stamped with

a piece of melon for extra decoration.

One of the cut apparts is used for the center piece 

and the melon parts are from the digital version

of this kit (and I love using the images here)

On the seeds a drop of glossy accent is added.

Here you see where the ribbons are placed.

Underneath the middle panel and the right one.

The inside is decorated with the melon border from

the Art Nouveau stamps.

I used fuchsia and  leaf to color the stamp.
