Club Scrap January Artist Challenge: Circles

Welcome to a new Artist Team Blog hop.
Hope you arived her from
and then you know the theme for all the
projects is:
C*I*R*C*L*E*S
You can read all about it on the
At first I thought,ok coffee rings are
circles, so i make some coffee card
with lots of different coffee ring cackgrounds,
but ok that was an easy oiption, so
I choose to make three Valentine cards with
circle elements.
Here you see all the cards together.
I used red papers from different kits in combination
with the white and decorated paper from this months
Celebrate kit and also the circle stamps from the
Celebrate unmounted rubber stamps that come with the kit.

For card #1 I embossed half of the background
with an heart embossing folder.
The sentiment is from a vintage Valentine kit called Fizz.

The circles are  first stamped and then cut.
Around the heart there are tiny silver holografic
cicle stickers that came with another kit.If you click
on the picture to enlarg it, you have a better view.
It is so hard to have a good photo of them.

Here you see how the circle and the heart are cut::
I stamped the image with a Fuchsia inkpad
and found the right spellbinder circle die to cut with.

Before cutting I also placed a tiny heart die
in the middle of the circle, so in one cut
all is done. I made several of these circles
with hearts to play with.

On this card I used the cut out hearts to decorate
the ribbon. Of course some blingon top!

For card #2 I embossed the complete background
with the heart embossing folder ( btw this embossing
folder is by Stampin'Up!). In the middle of the
card i tied a ribbon and the sentiment is again from
the vintage Valentine Fizz kit. It is one of the
wooden stamps that Club Scrap used to have.

For decoration I added a few tiny sticky pearls here and there.

For the final third card I found a wonderful tutorial
on Splitcoaststampers here.It looks complicated,
but is fairly easy! Really!!
The  card folds flat and is 5,5 x 4 1/4 inch.
Perfect for sending in a normal enveloppe.

The sentiment inside the circle is from February 2012
Full Circle. The outside ia a larger circle stamp from this months
Celebrate kit. I used 2 circle spellbinder dies for
cutting this circle: the ouside and inside of the cirle.
Little red gemstones decorate the outer circle.

For decoration on the smaller circles I used these fun
roses that you can buy in tiny packages and they are easy
to add by pricking a hole in the paper.I aways make two holes
and have the end come to the front again. Then I take a toothpick
and roll the wire around it, so you have these nice curled endings
along to flower.
Here you can see the contruction behind the large
circle. You use two 1 inch circles as a platform.
The videao on Splitcoaststapers shows it very clearly.

I loft the backside blank,
so you can write your message here.
Just added the little hearts that
where cut in the beginning.
Did not want to waste them,
they are just too cute. Added a little
gem stone in the middle.

Now for more ideas hop over to
and see what she has in store for you.

Thank you for looking!

Have a creative day!
