I {heart} sketch #137

Her is my sketch card for the
When you played along last month
you received this free digital stamp set
and if you play this month you get one free for next month.
You can purchase this set for $ 1,- HERE.

 Now this is the sketch:
I could have made the background with lots of layers of paper
(I have enough!!), but i decided to use a fun stamping technique
that makes it look like layers.

Get out your masking tape!

I taped down a piece of white cardstock and
left the space of the slanted line for the background.

With a blending tool and red ink
I colored the white space red.

On top of the red line i stamped these
cups with stamps from Newton's Nook Designs
called Newton loves coffee. I colored the line
with a white signo pen and the coffee with a tea dye
distress marker.
When you take away the masking tape
it looks like this.

Now i put the masking tape on top of the red line
to stamp the snowflakes on the background.
This is an old stampfromStampin'Up!.

Here you see the finished background.

The snowman image is colored with pencil.
The heart is cut with a Spellbinders die and added a tiny
white pearl heart on top.

The printed sentiment is cut out with a punch
and tiny sticky pearlslook like it is fastened
with brads.

Thank you for looking!
Have a creative day!

  2. Clever background, Hetty. I've always thought I should get the CS coffee sets and use the stamps for hot chocolate or chai.

  3. Hetty this is such a cute card. Love the snowman image. But I also find it impressing to read about all the details creating the background. And a cute image combined with your lovely background turned out just fabulous.

    I wish you a soon-to-come great weekend.
