Club Scrap Artist Challenge: Masculine

Welcome to another
Club Scrap Artist TeamChallenge
You find all participants on the Club Scrap Blog
but I hope you arrived here from
and got some great ideas.

Here is my contribution to the
masculine card and scrapbook ideas
with faux metal additions to it.
Starting with a scrappage I made of my DH love for cars
and especially police cars in the USA (he has themof all states
in miniature size!). So everywhere we went he took pictures
of any police car he noticed! That is pretty amazing, right!
That is a stamp from the rubber stamps that go with the Creative License
kit as all the papers do too. I samped the image after coloring it
with a red and blue marker. Nezt i rubbed versamark watermark ink on top
and embossedit with clear embossing powder.

I made this faux metal gear border with Tim Holtz
sizzix gear die.I cut the gears from various colors
of papers and used the various sizes on this border
in the carpet tape technique.

So you start with a piece of cardstock and stick
the carpet tape on it. Now remove the other layer
and place the gear on the sticky tape. When all
done I used gold embossing powder and a heat gun.
When this was all done I added some metal brads and
some  TimHoltz metal gears. I fastened these with
a piece of wire.

And now for some cards. I did some experimenting
and have quite some pieces to finish, but this is what
I used for these cards. Mostly I colored some backgrounds
and embossed them for futher use. The sentiment is
a cut apart from the scrapbook kit  and the car is a
rubber stamp from the Cruisin' kit from August 2008.

I love this combination of green, blue, gold and silver.

I embossed it with the rivited metal embossing folder
by Sizzix (Tim Holtz).

After the embossing I added black ink to the
raised parts before using it on the card.

For this card I used two embossed papers on top of
each other. The grea one in the background is embossed with
the gadged gears Tim Holtz embossing folder
and the top one was used first to cut out some gears
( for the scrap page) and then I embossed it with these
tiny gears and adding black ink. The sentiment
is from the Cape Cod rubber stamp setand the car
is from the Creative License digital kit.

For this last card I  also used  a piece of paper
that was first used to cut out the gears, but the left over
piece is also perfect for a picture frame, so how about this
for a birthday card for my man? His birthday is not to
far off , so I am ready!

Well, this was it for today fro me.

Sunday scrap page: Memorial Day

As tomorrow is Memoral Day in the US,
I made this page using using the US national colors
with the flowers from my garden and
Michael Strongs cloisonne nonagon stamp set.

I stamped the nonagon stamp 3 times: 2x red and  1x blue.
Then cut them out and  used the blue one to make
the two redones a combination of red and blue.
Also the inner circle, a seperate stamp, I stamped in
red and blue.

Here you see how i used them for the finished border
with ribbons and a sentiment in the middle.
The sentiment is by Create with TLC

After I added the flowers to the page, I added some more
of the circle stamp to give a firework impression behind
the flowers.

Thanks everyone for looking.
Wishing you all a
Happy
Have a creative day!

Saturday card: Time

Today a more masculine card.

It comes with female heads, but this
time I changed it into a man's card.

I stamped the large image on kraft paper
and embossed it with copper colored embossing powder.
The watch is a stamp from my stash
and that is embossed with black on silver paper.

The sentiment I made up with a SU! sentiment
and one from my stash. The banner is punched out.

On the left I covered the female head with a circle
that comes with the new Nonagon stamp and on the
right it is part of the circle stamp from a set that
is not available anymore. Now that I  looked at the
catalogue you can also use the cloisonné medaillions.

I want to enter my card for the
Theme: use the word art or anything goes
Last time I was top 3,
so thank you for my badge:

Thanks for looking.

Tim Holtz 12 tags May 2016:Crazy Cat

Here is my version of the tag for the
12 tags of 2016
for May.

If you want to see all the techniques
that were used please go to Tim's blog here.

For this month I wanted to use my crazy cat stamp
and it worked out perfectly for this tag. I even found
a little ribbon in my stash with cat paws.

The butterfly is cut out of metaland stamped
with it's matching stamp.

To make the tag more dimentional I used the rosette
die,for i do not have the tattered rose.
The labelis stamped with a sentiment from
an old SU! set with the same name.

The flowers are punched out of  decorated kraft paper
and fastened with a brad. This was a fun tag to create.

Thank you for looking.

Have a creative day!

Club Scrap Creative License Blog Hop

Welcome to the
showing of the May Creative License kit.

I hope you came over here from
and enjoyed seeing what she had
come upwith to inspire you.

I absolutely love this masculine kit
(but I love every kit when it comes :-)

So what did I come up with this time:
a scrap page and a picture frame.
Here is my scrappage with my adorable grandchildren, who
are riding their toy car for the first time. I used one of the
ALSB pages. You find those instruction on the
 Club Scrap website site here.
Here some details:
the wonderful key that came with the embellishments
of this kit.I love the word dream on it. Yes,
those boys still have to dream about their own car.

And then a look at the rubber stamps:
The Jumbo stamp sheet comes with this wonderful
license plate stamp and a complete alphabet, so you
can make up your own words on the plate.
My next project is this picture frame. I made this wonderful
picture of my DH and the boys, you might have seen it on
facebook, and it just needed a special frame.
I had this frame for a long time and it had the perfect size for this
picture, but not the right border, so it was time to
do a make over.
I started with cutting a piece of grey paper in the right size
6 x 6 inch on the outside and 3,5 x 3,5 inch on the inside.

Then part of the frame was embossed with
the gears embossing folder

and the other part  with the rivit metalembossing folder.

Then I painted it randomly with black acrylic paint.

Next a layer of broken china acrylic paint

and finally a layer of golden paint.
Now it is time to let it all dry (I used a heat gun).

To complete it all I brushed the raised part with a
gold metallic ink pad.
The 3 keys are embossed with silver to give
it its metal look and the key to my heart is also a stamp
that you fnd on the Art Nouveau rubber stamps.

The cards are printed from the digital Creative License
images.Cut out twise to give it more body and to
have a layer of glossy accent on top.

The amazing image is a cut out that came with
the scrap kit.
