Welcome to our monthly Club Scrap blog hop.
The theme of this month's kit is:
Sunflowers.
Hope you arrived here from
and left her some love for her wonderful project.
I have this scrap page for you and a box with cards.
Now let's start with the scrap page. I wanted to have pictures
with sunflowers, but now just a vase with flowers, no a real field.
Not here around the neighberhood and allready I asked a friend
if I could borrow some of her beautiful pictures........when suddenly
I founf=d the one perfect sunflower growing on the dike of the
lake behind our house, when i was hunting for pokémons with Owen.
Made some great pictures for my page.
The layout is one of the ALSB pages that you find instructions for
on the Club Scrap site HERE.
These cut aparts were perfect for the page with Owen.
He just started school this week!
The ribbon and the button are from the kit too.
Next is my box with cards:
Inside this box are 4 cards and enveloppes.
It fits 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 inch size cards.
Of course I have some instructions for you.
Let's start with the box.
This box is called a criss-cross box and I just found some real
easy instructions for you, so please go HERE for all details on
how to make this box.
After cutting the papers for the box I used my Sunflower rubber
stamps to decorate the box
The box is finished with a border around it, that
came from the cut apart from the kit.
And the flower on top is made with a roset that is cut
with a Tim Hotz die. A stamped flower and leaves also
cut with a die.
And these are the cards:
Such beautiful paper in this kit, ready for use,
so I only cut this card and stamped the sentiment
on top. Ready........!
No...! This is the inside. I just had to add a fun twist
inside of the card. When you open this you find
a cup with flowers. The cup is from the Brewed Awakenings
kit and stamped with versamark and copper embossing powder.
Decorated with the checkered rubber stamp from the
Sunflower kit.
To make the pop up for the card I cut a 4,5 x 5,5
piece of ivory lettered paper, folded in half and on the
fold cut 1 inch towards the inside. The horizontal line
is folded and you get a stand to stick the cup on,
like you see here. Of course you can add more pop ups
if you like.
Here you see the complete constructions.
The flowers are from the rubber stamp sheet.
The leaves are cut with a die and with the left over
paper I stenciled the leave on the background paper.
This card is the easiest one.
I just cut a panel from this beautiful paper,
stamped happy birthday, a ribbon and finished.
For this card I cut a tag, embossed it with
a script embossing folder and added brown ink.
The sunflower is stamped on a piece of left over
script paper and colored with pencil.
Cut out and with dimentional tape on the
tag. Zig zag ribbon from the kit.
I used an old wooden stamp with script for the background
of the card. This stamp was from 2006, but not sure from which kit.
For this last card I have a little technique tutorial for you.
The technique is called: crayon resist.
First stamp with a permanent ink on white paper.
I used the sunflower bunch and the vintage script stamp.
Next take a white crayon and scribble on top
of the stamped images. I did some circles and dots.
Then i took 3 colors of distress stain with some drops of water added
(but you can also take water color, or very diluted acryl paint)
and color all over your panel. When you finished coloring,
you will see the white crayon resists the painting.
To finish the card I added a bottle cap with a piece of sunflower
inside as embellishement and a ribbon. A birthday sentiment too.
Well, it has turned into a long post again ( I planned on ding something simple,
but it seems I can't do that!), but I hope you have found some inspiration here and
if not, there is another blog to go and see what
Pam has come up with for you.
Go to:
and enjoy her projects.
If you loose your way, there is always the
to find all the participants of the hop.
Thank you for looking
and have a creative day!

Wow!!!! Awesome projects hetty!
I love sunflowers, they are such happy-making flowers, big, bright and cheerful. I was sad that the ones I planted this year didn't grow, maybe it was too dry when we were away on holidays. Making up for that here, enjoying your photos and cards. The box is lovely. The first card is my favourite, and then the second one. What a lovely set they make all together.
What an array of projects...cards, layouts, and a card holder. Thank you for sharing your creations and how to create the card holder!
What wonderful projects Hetty - love the way you have used all the sunflowers, and thanks for all the tips and the link to the box tutorial.
Blessings
