Tim Holtz August tag: Dragon Fly

After all the Creative Chemistry
it is now time to make mAugust tag for
the 12 tags of 2016 on Tim's Blog.
This is also the place were you can find all
the technique tips on making this tag.

Here is my tag and this time I used stamps
from ART NEKO.
I love the more brighter colors that I chose this time.

For the background of this tag,
festive berries and mustered seed
distress stains are the colored.
On top a Asian text stamp with archival black.
Then with vintage photo and
waterdrops the background is finished.

After die cutting the honeycomb from a piece of
bookboard (and colored with festive berries stain)
these Asian papers were also die cut with the honeycomb
die. This time the insides are used and distressed with
vintage photo distress ink.

On top you see the dragonflies.
They are embossed with Judy Kinns Chamaleon
embossing powder. This gives a blue glow and
that is exactly what you see when they fly around you.

As a text i used a poem that you can find here.
Stamped with archival black and  cut into lines.

Finished of with a little sewing after punching some holes.

Thank you for looking
and have a creative day!

  2. There is so much to look at here! First of all I was amazed by the dragonflies and how shimmery they look even on screen. But then, because I love text in backgrounds, I got absorbed in looking at how the Japanese script looks so cool. Hmmm, maybe a stamp I need.
And then I noticed how you had inlaid all the different papers into the hexagons, which made me think of paper screens. This is just so beautiful and full of rich details, Hetty.
