As today I am also blogging on the Art Neko Blog
I will explain a little more about the paper lanterns I used
on my card in pictures.
To make the paper lanterns, I started out with stamping
the Art Neko snowflake background stamp on white paper.
I embossed it with white embossing powder. This will
work as a resist when add coloring.
I took 3 shades of blue distress ink for the coloring.
Wit a blending tool I added these on top of the embossed
snowflakes. When done you can use a paper towel
to clean the white snowflakes.
To make the shapes of the paper lanterns I used
a circle and an oval die to cut out the shape.
Next i used my crimper to run the shapes through
and give them the real paper lantern look.
Tiny strips of paperin the same colors as the paper lantern
where cut for the top and the bottom of the lanterns.
The tassels that I used where from my stash and premade
and came in very handy. The background is a snow
embossing folder from Stampin'Up!
The sentiment is also from Art Neko and belongs to
a Holiday Greeting set.
Even though it looks like it is a grey card, in real
life it is silver paper (which is not seen in the photo).
Here is another card done in the same technique.
Just used a paper circle punch for the lanterns.
Also silver card and snowy embossed background.
On this card I added some bling gemstone decoration
to the lanterns.
Thank you for looking and I hope you all
have a wonderful healthy, loving and
creaive New Year!
These are so lovely, love the design and the paper. Another clever card from you.
