Simchat Torah

After 7 days of Sukkot and sitting in the Succah (booth)

There is a rather happy festival to end it.

This is called Simchat Torah, when we celebrate

the conclusion - and the resart - of the annual Torah

reading cycle. It is also a fun holiday for children.

There is dancing and singing with the Torah

and all the children get lots of candy ( meaning

that learning from the Torah is as sweet as candy).

Picture of me and my mom in my brother's Succah.

I made this card with stamps from:

Zum gali gali (children and sentiment) and

Stampin'Up! (totah scroll in the back).

The background of the card starts with a few

blue distress oxide inks on my kraft sheet.

Then with one of the lighter blues the children

where stamped in the background.

When all was dry the Torah scroll was

stamped in versafine black ink.

The children were stamped on a seperate 

piece of paper in blue and embossed with

clear embossing powder. After cutting out

added with foam tape to the background.

A ribbon, a sentiment and some silver dots

finished the card.

I used to decorate the inside.

Pumpkin Spice Latte

Here another card for the

National Coffee Day.

It is Brentwood in pumpkin costume,

a wonderful image by

JessicaLynnoriginal.

I printed the image and colored it

with pencil.

The background is made with first some

direct to paper technique and then adding the

pumpkins with a Tim Holtz stencil.

The sentiment is from Verve Stamps.

Finishing of the card with a ribbon and 

some paper leaves behind the cut out

National Coffee Day

As it is National Coffee Day in the US,

I just have to make a card with a coffee theme.

How about coffee an apple pie?

Made this gift card with Club Scrap hybrid and real papers.

Inside it looks like this with a pocket for 

the coffee gift card.

So what you need for the card is a piece of

cardstock 10.5 x 4,25 inch.

This you score at 2 and 5.25 inch.

At the pocket end I used a die to create this

pocket. If you do not have this die, you can also 

use various punches - even a circle punch.

Here the front card with the pie.

The paper is printed from the 

Club Scrap Tapestry Hybrid kit.

Next I cut out a circle and a scalloped

circle to make the pie. The circle is embossed 

with a Stampin Up woven embossing folder.

Doesn't it look exactly like a pie?!

The cup is cut with the coffee dies by

Stampin' Up!

The top sentiment is a rubber stamp

from Club Scrap's Tapestry kit

and added stamps from

(coffee & beans).

The coffee ring is a very loved 

Club Scrap Mocca Java wooden

stamp (vintage).

So I am ready for my apple pie now.

The grandkids helped me making it.

Club Scrap September Card Sketch

Here is the card sketch for September.

You find it in the Club Scrap Chat Facebook Group.

I turn the sketch sideways to make my card.

Just before I made the pictures I was in the garden

and found these beautiful leaves matching the 

Club Scrap Tapestry paper.

When i went looking for some papers to use

I found the tag and the key from various

other Club Scrap kits I have. They make 

a perfect combination with the paper

and thge sketch.

For the background I used a piece of printed 

Club Scrap Tapestry paper from the hybrid kit.

The border is made with the stencil first and

on top I stamped the leaves in dark brown.

I think it makes a good card for someone who is

moving into a new home!

Club Scrap Tapestry Linky Party

In the beginning of September I shared with you

pictures of applepicking my adoptive apple tree HERE.

So for today's Club Scrap Tapestry link party

I share with you what we did with all these apples.

For this page I used the Club Scrap Tapestry hybrid kit.

The apple and the "sweet" sentiment are from the 

Orchard hybrid kit from last year.

You see here my 3 grandkids helping me making

apple pie, apple in puff pastry and apple sauce.

As you can imagine we had lots of fun.

They were very proud when all was finished 

and of course their parents had to taste!

My Tapestry stamps arrived in the nick of time

 for this linky party

and here is the first card I made with them:

I used several colors on the big collage stamp

and applying it with the misty makes it come out real good.

The black flowery border and the sentiment in the middle.

Just a quick and easy card.

Finished off with a ribbon from my Club Scrap stash.

Sukkot 2018

Tonight the festival of Sukkot

(Feast of Tabernacles or Feast of Booths)

is starting and many Jewish friends have

build their own Sukkah (booth) and those who have

not will visit people who have to fullfill the obligation

of sitting in one and say the special blessings.

The background of my card is made with these

stencils by Tim Holtz and distress oxide inks.

Next stamped with Jewish stentiment in black.

It says: chag sameach, meaning happy celebration.

This stamp is from Zum Galli Gali Rubber stamps.

For the words here I used letter dies and leaves

and beam die by Tim Holtz.

I colored the paper with the same colors of distress

oxide inks that I used for the background panel.

The stamp of the Sukkah is also by

Zum Gali Gali Rubber Stamps.

The inside of the card is first printed with the

computer and  then decorated with some

left over images.

Wild about coffee!

Working on some cards and projects

for the next blog hops.

This card combines the two:

Coffee and Club Scrap's digital Tapestry kit.

All papers are Club Scrap.

The lion is made with my new

lion die and the cup is a die too.

Yom Kippur

Tonight is the start of the Jewish High Holiday of

Yom Kippur or Day of Atonement. 

You can read about it  here.

This holiday starts with a meal tonight and after

that you fast for 24 hours until breaking the fast

tomorrow evening.

So i wish all my family and friends well over the fast

and may you all be inscribed in the book of life.

Before breaking the fast you hear a last tone

of the shofar (ramshorn): Tekiah Gedolah!

I made the sentiment in photoshop and printed 

this in word, before making the card.

Then I colored the card with stencils

and distress oxide inks leaving

the place of the sentiment white.

On another piece of paper I stamped the 

shofar stamp (Zum Gali Gali) in 

chocolate brown and cut it with a circle die.

After adding a few gemstines I added the 

stamped image with foam tape to the card.

For the other card I used the same technique,

just another image.

Here you see the Tim Holtz stencils used.

The image is colored with zig markers 

and a watercolor brush and is an oldie from

Ruth Jewish Stamps.
