More Snake

 

Again using the Michael Strong

snake freebie.

This time not for a New Year card,

but for a birthday card.

I think the snake is a great image for man-cards.

If you click on the photo, you can see

the snake image close u.

Then you see I colored the snake with

distress markers and cut the image out.

On top of the snake I added

frosted lace stickles and a few tiny red gemstones.

 

 

I have been looking around on the internet

and came up with these sentiments:
Jussssst ssssaying hello!
Sssssave me some cake....
Kisssss me!
You're sssssspecial
Thankssss......
 
and the one on the card:
Wissshing you a ssssspecial birthday!
 
Just print them with the computer

and add them to your card.

 

 

Hope I gave you new inspiration

to use the snake image.

TH February tag for Valentine

Today I finished my tag for

Tim Holtz

and for Valentine.

I used the stamps I won with

my November tag and waited

to get this one, for I already

had a fund idea on how to use them.

Here you see the finished tag.

I absolutely love the tip of making

a ribbon from washi paper.

I tried to use the techniques

as shown on Tim's blog with the things I have

and this is the result.

The lamp is doubled up, like

the queen card you see on the original tag.

The metal tag I do not have, so I used

some silver cardstock

and a sentiment I printed to

go with the light bulb.

Adding glossy accent on the top.

This card is for my dear DH

and the ticket for the movie

we are going to see.

Mardi Gras

Today is Mardi Gras,

fun and party

and CARNAVAL!

No idea what it is?

And you know me,

have to make a card for

this celebration:

 

For this card I used background paper

found on the Create with TLC blog

as well as the sentiment.

I colored the background paper with pencil.

 

For the mask I found a template online:

and printed this on purple paper.hen i took my

Michael Strong paisley background stamp

and versamark ink to stamp over the cut out mask.

Added some gold embossing powder and

made some holes at the end for the ribbon.

OWL Blog Hop

I hope you have arrived here from

Herma's blog with her

wonderful creation for the

Michael Strong OWL blog hop

to celebrate Mike's latest stamps

the cloisonné owls.

 And if you leave a comment on all the blogs

I have created two projects for you

to inspire your creativity with the owl stamp.

This first one is a photoframe.

You stamp the owl two times and

color the owl (I used watercolor crayons)

and of the second image only the head.

Cut out the head and stick it on the

complete owl with some foam tape.

 I added some glitterglue on the wings

and glossy accent on the eyes.

The sentiment I made with the computer

and added a little gemstone heart.

The second project is a card,

called a double step card.

You can find tutorials all over if you google

this (and also on you tube).

I used this one HERE

I want to share with you how I made the background to

this card. It is a variation to one of the Technique

Junkie's technique called Antiqued Wallpaper.

You need an embossingfolder,

some distress ink, pearl colored glommer mist

paper and your cuttlebug.

Roll your paper trough the cuttlebug

in the embossing folder of your choice.

I choose the tree folder for the

background of my card.

 After embossing you add ink direct

to the paper. I used vintage photo

and aged mahogany.

Take your glimmermist (I used pearl)

and spray this on top of your card.

Best do this in a box, so your table

won't get dirty.

 Leave it to dry or use your heatgun.

When dry, take your cuttlebug and make

your sandwitch like this:

For the finished card i stamped and

embossed a silver and a gold owl.

Added a few glitter gemstones

and colored paws and beak with marigold

distress marker.

Here you see the text I came up with:

I finished the bottom of the card with

a branch (die cut) and some

leaves (diecut too).

Chinese New Year

Today it is Chinese new Year

and the start of the

Year of the Snake.

So with stamps of

Michael Strong

I made this 12x12 scrap page

and used the following stamps:

 the cloisonné hexagon

and the cloisonné medallions.

 

To make the snake I stamped the hexagon stamp

1x op red paper and 1x on black paper

with versamark and embossed with

gold embossing powder.

Then cut up the stamp and

kept rearranging the pieces

until I was satisfied with the snakes.

You might wonder, what is it and what can I do with it?
I give you some explanation and inspiration.

This is what we call a digital stamp.
You save it to your computer with the right mouse click trick.
Remember where you put it!!

Now you can print it any size you want.
Or reverse it, or print 4 small ones, whatever your design needs.
After printing you can color it or like I did: print it on colored paper.
Color with pensils, markers, watercolor crayons.

Use the image to your liking on a card or scrapbook page.

I added some tiny gold stcikers on the

snake's dots and some red gemstiones

around the snake for accents.

 

And here is another creations.

For this I used some great background paper

I printed the background paper

on a cream color. The lanterns

are colored with pencil.

When finished I brushed fired brick

distress ink around the paper

and embossed it with the swiss dot

embossing folder.

The dots are also colored with fired brick

distress ink direct to paper.

The snake panel is also colored with

pencil and the swiss dots are colored with

shabby shutters green distress ink.

 

Also a few gem stones are added.

 

The numbers are from a Tim Holtz die.

This is the inside of the card.
