Club Scrap Shibori Linky Party

Welcome to the Club Scrap Linky Party

sharing with you projects with the

April Shibori kit.

My project this month is a travel journal

made into a diary.

For this I cut a piece of the white paper 8.5 x 11 inch

and folded it with a 1/2 inch book back.

Then i used some of the printed paper to cover

the front and the back. I haven't really finished

the album, because I think that happens along

the way using it, but this is sort of the base.

Here you see all of the cover.

On the back I made a whole in the center

and i added some elastic ribbon as a closure.

For adding the pages I made some holes in

the bookback with eyelets and added more

elastic siver ribbon.

Here a close up on the pocket, that I made with the

stencil from the kit.

I added white gesso over the blue paper.

Next I added blue and brown ink

and let it drie completely.

Inside the pocket I added one of the cut aparts from the kit

for some journaling. Now I am going to show you how 

i made the diary pages.

More use of the stencil, for I used it to decorate all

the inside pages. For this I used some regular copy paper

and blue and brown ink.

After the stenceling I used the Shibori rubber stamps

to make spaces for the days of the week.

With a black pen I wrote the days of the week.

The left part is done and the right part I leave for

some new ideas.

Here some finished pages with a little more stamping.

This is the back page. In the middle you see the

knot of the elastic silver ribbon from the closure.

Again use of the stencil and also a sentiment from the

cut apart. The border is a piece of washi tape

that also came with this kit.

Let's Doodle!

I made these cards for the challenge on the

SimonSaysStamp Blog.

I used this month kit by Club Scrap Shibori

that are perfect for the Doodle It challenge.

You can see all the details HERE.

For my cards I used a technique I noticed on the

craftshow I visited last Saturday and lucky me, I had all

the ingredients!

I used color burst turqoise powder 

on the left side of the paper.

Next I took the mini mister and sprayed a big puddle

of water on top of the powder.

Dipping the stamp into the puddle of color burst

I used it to stamp the background for my card.

For this card I also used the stencil that came 

with the Club Scrap Shibori kit.

Next i used the Shibori stamps on top of the

background and with a black marker

I added some dooling on the stencil side.

I must say the stamps look already like I doodled.

The butterfly is cut with a thinlit by Stampin'Up!

and I  used part of the leftside paper for this.

The flower is cut out with a punch from one of my

nespresso metal cups. See my tutorial HERE.

I had so much fun with this technique, I had to try it on another card

as well. Gere i used more of the stamps to doodle and a little pen doodling too.

Left more of the leftside puddle of ink color.

Coffee Helps!

Yesterday I was at a stamp craftshow and there

were lots of free workshops, I only took one and all the others

I looked at and was inspired for making cards.

This is the first card I made after the show.

The sentiment on the cups is one I bought there!

The cups are by Stampin'Up!

the coffee rings are by Club Scrap

and the beans are a stencil by Karen Burninston.

I am sure you like to know what I got myself

(from my birthday money!):

I got these new Tim Holtz boxes for my alcohol ink bottles

(those I already had!). 

Neww Tim Holtz stencils and stamps and some fun

Penny Black Art/Creativity stamps.

New oxide inks, and other goodies to play with.

It was a great and inspirational day!

Club Scrap Paper kit is here!

Yesterday my pizzabox with papers and stamps by

Club Scrap arrived. It is the April Shibori kit.

Here you find all the details about what is inside the box.

So right away I cut and  prepared the stamps with the 

mount-it adhesive for rubber stamps. This way the cling

perfectly to your acryl block.

The kit came with a wonderful stencil and I just had to play with it.

So these are the finished cards I made.

Card #1

I used blue and brown ink on the stencil background.

As I want to show of the beautiful stenciled

background I onlu dit a little decoration on the front.

The hooray is cut with a die and the sentiment

is one of the stamps that came with the kit.

I hate throwing away the left over pieces,

so i decorated the inside of the card with it.

Card #2

For this card I used the same stencil and colors,

but yes it does look different.After doing the first

coloring with light blue and brown ink, I took the stencil

of and turned it a little and then colored again.

This way you get a different use of the stencil.

The circles are decorated with the rubber stamp

by using the 2 colors of ink again.

On top the cut out sentiment.

Inside the card some left over piece of the front panel

and the stamped birthday sentiment.

Happy Birthday to me!

Yeah, today is my birthday!

Here you see me many years ago when I was just 

a one year old having fun and had no idea what 

path was ahead of me.

Now so many years afterwards I am a happy,

married, creative grandma and besides needing more hours

in a day, am as happy as can be! Thanks to my hysband, children,

grandchildren and all my (creative) friends.

Love you all.

Ok, so I made myself a quick birthday card

with the wonderful new April Shibori hybrid kit from

Club Scrap. Can't wait to get my hands on the

real paper and stamps.

Club Scrap April kit: Shibori

Welcome to a new month of Club Scrap goodies.

This month the kit is called Shibori?

What?! you may say, so here a little explanation:

Shibori is a Japenese indigo fabric dying technique 

dating back to the 8th century.

There is more explanation on the Club Scrap Blog HERE.

For me this blue and white kit is perfect

to play with for my Jewish Holidays.

For my scrapbookpage, I snapped some quick

photo's of my grandsons, when they where here

for our annual matzo lunch.

(I won't show you how the floor looked afterwards!)

This kit is also great for cards

and because of the blue and white combo,

it combines great with other kits.

For this birthday card I used the cake from

the Club Scrap January Surprise kit.

Happy Easter!

With this card I want to wish all my friends 

a very Happy Easter!

I also want toenter my card to the

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Blog,

where this Wednesday it is Anything goes.

For my card I used papers from Club Scrap's 

March kit: Daffodils. The background of daffodils

and setiment is one of the cut outs that came with the kit.

The egg and the chicks are rubber stamps by

Michael Strong. The egg is stamped on dark brown

paper from the Club Scrap kit and embossed with 

copper kettle embossing powder. It looks so much

like real chocolate this way.

The chick is stamped with brown ink and cut out

and stuck behind the eggs. The ribbon is fron one of my

previous Club Scrap kits.
