Fijne Pesach/ Happy Passover

Ik wens iedereen die vanavond aan de seider zit: Chag Sameach en een hele gezellige avond.
Hier zie je nog meer melkpakjes, maar deze zijn voor aan tafel. Er komen de namen van iedereen op te staan en er zit wat lekkers in voor bij het toetje.

I wish everyone, who is at a seider: Chag Sameach and a wonderful evening. I made more milk cartons, but these are for on the table. I write everyones name on the tag and it is filled with candies for dessert.

Technique by Design April Blog Hop

Welcome to the April Blog Hop revealing some new techniques from the April/ May Technique Junkie Newsletter. We have another sketch challenge for you in the April issue and we would LOVE for you to participate. While starting to make the card, I happen to make two. On both cards I have jused a digital stamp on top by FireCracker by Designs by Pamela, colored with water color crayons. Papers are by Club Scrap and what techniques did I use you may wonder. On the pink one you see Faux Velvet ( a wonderful new technique with baby wipes?!) and double metal emboss. On the orange one you see Animal Spots and Glimmering waves.

To make sure you miss none of the fun, you'll want to start at the very beginning!

Papegaaien 3/ Parrots 3

Ik heb weer een filmpje gemaakt van de papegaaien in de tuin. Sinds ik ze van de winter eten heb gegeven, blijven ze nu elke dag komen. Ik kan er mijn ogen niet van af houden! Ja, het zijn echt wilde papegaaien en ik heb gehoord dat lang geleden ze eens ergens ontsnapt zijn en dat ze in Amsterdam in het Vondelpark zitten. Nu met de kou van de winter zijn ze waarschijnlijk eten gaan zoeken en bij mij in de tuin gekomen. Ik geniet van het uitzicht!

Here another movie of the parrots that are coming to my garden. Ever since I gave them to eat in the winter, they come back every day! I just cannot stop looking. Yes, they are wild and I have heared that long ago some escaped and live in Amsterdam, but I think because of the cold they spread out to look for food and they found my garden. I enjoy the view.

Because on Easter it is my birthday I have this wonderful blog candy to give. It is a card with glassy embossing artwork form the Technique Junkies and a bracelet with little egg charms made out of Michael Strongs mini egg stamp and shrink plastic. Paper of the card is by Club Scrap and the bunny and the sentiment are by Stampin'Up!. For the card I used Michael Strong's large egg and after stamping and embossing it with white embossing powder, I cut it  on the lines to open it up and wow! did I find a chocolate bunny!!

Wat zit er in het doosje?/ What is inside the box?

Natuurlijk wil je weten, wat er in het doosje zit! Het zijn armbandjes, gemaakt met restjes papier van Tilda® en natuurlijk ook kraaltjes. De papieren kralen zijn gemaakt van strookjes gerold om een tandestoker. Ja ja hoor ik je zeggen, dat deden we vroeger ook al! Maar voor wie het niet meer weet, neem een kijkje HIER.

Of course now you want to know what's inside the box. They are bracelets made with left over pieces of Tilda® paper and of cource some beads are added. The paper beads are made of strips of paper rolled around a toothpick. Yes, yes, you will say, I did that way back! But for those of you who do not remember exactly how it works, take a look HERE.

Tilda papier/ Tilda paper

Het Tilda® papier is erg leuk om van alles mee te maken. Zo heb ik er vandaag een cadeau doosje meegemaakt. Je kan er kleine chocolade paaseitjes in doen, maak ook een leuk cadeautje. Hieronder zie je het patroon voor het doosje. Je neemt een leuk scrap papiertje van 30 x 11 cm en vouwt het zoals het patroon laat zien. De rondjes die je ziet, zijn de gaatjes voor het lint.Voor het versieren leg je het weer plat neer. Ben je klaar, dan klap je het dubbel en vallen de gaatjes over elkaat en doe je er een lintje doorheen en zo blijft het doosje dicht.

Tilda® paper is wonderful for making gifts, like this box. You can add little chocolate Easter eggs, but it is also fun for a little gift. Below you see the template of the box. You need a piece of scrap paper 12"x 4,5"and fold it as the template shows. The tiny circles you see are the wholes for the ribbon. Leave it flat for decorating. When finished you fold it double and the the wholes will be on top of each other and you can run a ribbon through and close the box this way.

Frame vouwen/ Frame folding

Vandaag heb ik gespeeld met het leuke nieuwe Tilda® papier van Joan Gevaert Scrapbooking & Rubber Art. Je hebt papier, cut outs, buttons, stempels, stofjes in allerlei zachte tinten. Omdat het papier aan twee kanten bruikbaar is, leek het me leuk om er mee te vouwen. Natuurlijk wil je weten hoe ik dat heb gedaan, daarom hieronder een lesje.

Today I have been playing with the new Tilda® paper from Joan Gevaert Scrapbooking & Rubber Art. In this line there is paper, cut outs, buttons, materials and all in lovely soft tones. Because there is print on both sides of the paper I decided to make these folded frames. And because I know you want to know how to do this I have made a tutorial for you below.

Lesje/ Tutorial

Dit heb je nodig: Tilda® papier, kaart papier, vierkante scallop nestabillity, distress inkt, lijm (of dubbelzijdig plakband), liniaal, potlood en schaar.

This is what you need: Tilda® papers, card paper, square scallop nestabillity, distress inks, glue (or double sided tape), ruler, pencil, scissors.

1. Snij een vierkant papier van 10x10 cm (of elke maat die jij wil) en zoek met een liniaal het midden en zet daar met potlood even een kruisje.

1. Cut a 4x4" square piece of pr (or any size you want) and find the middle of it by using a ruler and a pencil. Mark the middle with your pencil.

2. Vouw alle 4 hoeken naar het middelpunt.

2. Fold all 4 corners to the centre.

3. Vouw nu een hoek een stukje naar buiten zodat de punt over het frame valt. Doe dit voor elke hoek even ver naar buiten. Je kunt natuurlijk ook tot het frame vouwen, maar dan wordt het binnen vierkantje kleiner.

3. Fold  one corner out again so the tip is outside the frame. Fold every corner the same way. You could also fold the tip on the frame, but then the square inside is smaller.

5. Nu ga je de kaart opbouwen met laagjes papier. Ik heb aan de randen wat distress inkt gesponst. Het midden vierkantje is 7x7 cm en hierin kun je naar believe een foto, plaatje of tekst zetten.

5. Now you are going to build the card with layers of paper. I used some distress inks on the edges op the papers. The middel part of the frame is 2,75 x 2,75"and you can add a picture, a photo or a text.

Scheercreme/ Shaving Cream

Dit is echt al een oude techniek, toch zijn er steeds weer nieuwe mensen die gaan stempelen, daarom nog eens even een uitleg van deze leuke en makkelijke techniek om snel veel achtergrondjes te maken.

This is really an old technique, but there are always new people who start stamping, so that is why I will explain this wonderful and easy technique for making quick and beautiful backgrounds.

In het midden van deze kaart zie je de scheerschuin achtergrond. Hij is gemaakt met Club Scrap papier en stempels.

In the middle of this card you see the shaving cream background. Paper and stamps are by Club Scrap.

Wat heb je nodig? Goedkope scheercreme, een plat bakje, inkten (alcohol inkt, re-inkers alerlei soorten kun je gebruiken), een sate prikker, keukenpapier en een ous mes.

What do you need? Cheap shaving cream, a flat container, ink bottles ( alcohol ink, re-inkers any kind will do), a wooden stick, paper towels and an old knife.

1. Spuit de scheercreme in je bakje en verdeel het over het hele bakje. Dan neem je 2 of 3 kleuren inkt en doe wat druppels op de scheercreme.

1. Fill your container with shaving cream and spread it out in the container. Take 2 or 3 bottles of ink and add some drops to the shaving cream.

2. Neem nu de saté prikker en roer hiermee door de creme. Doe het voorzichtig en voor een patroontje ga je bijvoorbeeld eerst horizontaal en dan vertikale strepen maken.

2. Take the wooden stick and move th shaving cream slowely around. For a pattern you can do it first horizontal and than vertical.

3. Neem nu je papier en druk dit zachtjes op het scheercreme. Ga het niet bewegen.

3. Take your paper and push it gently onto the cream. Do not move it around.

4. Haal het papier voorzichtig uit het bakje.

4. Take the paper slowely out of the container.

5. Scheer je papier nu met een mes om alle scheercrem van je papier te verwijderen. Laat het even drogen en daarna kan je het voor je kaart gebruiken. Met een bakje kun je vele achtergronden maken. Eventueel nog wat inkt toevoegen. Het is ook heel leuk om met kinderen te doen, gebruik dan bv, ecoline.

5. Now you shave the cream of the paper with a knife. Leave it to dry before using it for your card. With one container you can make lots of backgrounds. You can add some more color if you want. This is also lots of fun to do with your children, use cheap ink for this project in that case.

FCD Presents Digital D'Illusions!

Dit is mijn eerste kennismaking met digitale stempels. Ze zijn van FireCracker Designs by Pamela en het is toch wel heel erg leuk om eens te proberen. Natuurlijk heb ik er ook rubber stempels bijgebruikt.

Het voordeel van digitale stempels is dat je zelf het formaat van het plaatje kan bepalen en ook in spiegelbeeld kan gebruken.

Nu is er een wedstrijd bij Firecrackers voor het maken van een kaart met het gebruik van haar digitale stempels met het thema: Optical illusions (denk aan schaduw, spiegel ed). Het zijn natuurlijk digitale stempels die je kan winnen.

This is my first try at digital stamps.They are by FireCracker Designs by Pamela and I must confess it is fun to have a go at this. Of course I have also added my rubber stamps.The advantage of digital stamps is that you can use them in any size you want and can also mirror them.

St. Patricks Day

                                           

Vandaag is het St. Patricks Day en voor een ieder die niet weet wat dat is, kijk dan HIER. Om iedereen een fijne St. Patricks Day te wensen heb ik dit kaartje gemaakt in de irisvouw techniek met papier van Club Scrap envenals de tekst. De rand is met een stempel van Michael Strong gedaan. Het klaverblad patroon is van Bergkaarten.

This card is made for everyone who celebrates St. Patricks Day. If you do not know what this is, you can go HERE. To wish you all Happy St. Patricks Day I made this card with Club Scrap papers and sentiment. The border is made with Michael Strongs frame stamp. The clover is done in irisfolding technique and the patterns is from Bergkaarten.

Mike's boekenlegger/ Mike's bookmark

Eens een hele andere boekenlegger. Deze heb ik gemaakt naar het idee van Michael Strong.

Op het forum van Club Scrap heb ik dit filmpje gevonden en ben met mijn Cameo stempels van Michael Strong en papier van Club Scrap aan de gang gegaan.

Je hebt nodig: een ovale pons van 1 1/4"x 2", papier 1x 8"x7 1/2" en 2x 3 1/2"x 7 1/4 en je cameo stempels.

Bekijk het lesje op het onderstaande filmpje en alles wordt duidelijk.

Here is another take on a bookmark.

This idea I found in the Club Scrap cinema and is by Michael Strong.

With Club Scrap Paper and Mike's Cameo stamps this is made and here you see my version. To make this bookmark you need: 1 oval punch 1 1/4"x 2"and paper 1x 8"x 7 1/2" and 2x 3 1/2"x 7 1/4 and your cameo stamps. Watch the tutorial below and all will be clear.
