The Stampotique hostess this week, Monique has challenged the team to use a technique on their creation. I used the Faux Barndoor technique, yes on the barndoor! The grass is stitched on with some embroidery floss. Hope you are inspired to give it a try too!

Dude Time Doodles new release BLOG HOP

I guess you arrived here from Ruth's blog
and are dying to know what new stamp I have on my blog
for the
Well, this is rather fishy!
It is Ollie Octopus and he is so much
fun to use for all kinds of occasions.
Like for a love card. He has so many arms,
woudn't it be great to be hugged by 8 arms?
So much love around you.
For this card I also used a Martha Steward
border punch, some heart nestabillities and a
text by Create with TLC.
The little hearts have been run trough the cuttlebug.

But I have some more ideas for you.
I came across another blog with
a wonderful idea for the octopus.
Take a look her at Mel's blog:
So what you see in the window is hairgel with stickles
to give the impression of water.
The background paper is made with watercolor paint
(the cheap kind your children use).
When the paint is dry, stamp bubbles with versamark
and use clear embossing posder of white embossing powder.
Bubble stamps are by smARTworks.
When finished heating the embossing powder
color again with watercolor paint.
When everything is dry, paper is run through
the cuttlebug.
When you open the card you see Ollie is
colored with copic markers.
On the top of the card as well as on the inside
you see some sentiments by Create with TLC.
Here you see a close up of the window with the hairgel.
Are you in for some more inspiration with some new digital stamps?

Medallion

prachtige medallion kunt maken.

On all kinds of blogs I see them:
medallions on cards.
I think this is because of the medallion die
by Tim Holtz.
But what idf you do not have this?
Well if you type: medallion tutorial in google
they pop up everywhere.
I found this one:
and here you see how to make a medallion
with a border punch.
Met mijn strand border heb ik deze strook van 3,5 x 28 cm
gemaakt en in het lesje zie je precies
hoe je er een medallion van maakt.

With my beach border I made this strip of 1,5 x 11 inch
and in the tutorial you see how easily
you can turn this into a medallion.

Here a close up of the result.
On top of the medallion you see tree mini shells
by Michael Strong embossed on different colors of
embossing powder. In the background you see
the sea star stamp by Michael Strong.
Paper and sentiment is
by Club Scrap and the border punch is
by Martha Steward.

The challenge is to make a art with the theme: BIRDS
So this is my contribution:
A card with the hummingbird of Michael Strong,
as well as the little circle stamp on the flower
and paper and sentiment by Club Scrap.

The background to this card was first painted with
acrylic paint, than I stamped and clear embossed the
bird and on top I added some gesso with a credit card.

Valentine Challenge

gezet. Je kunt daarvan hieronder het detail zien.
Michael has set a challenge to make a Valentine's card
without the colors pink, red and purple.
This is my card for the challenge.
I used Mike's mini heart stamps for this card
and embossed them with black, white and gold embossing powder.
The sentiment is by Club Scrap.

Here you see a detail of the one heart were a button is added
with tin gold wire and a white flower.
If you click on the photo, you see even a larger version.
