Tim Holtz July tag: Journey

Oh my, last day of July so soon
and i had not made my Tim Holtz tag.
So I set to work today.

My tag became a card for
vacation time in July.
Let's get out the vintage car
and hit the road.
For this card i used the same techniques
as you see described on  the blog of

See how wonderful the suitcases are
in the background like they are on top
of the car.

Here a closer look of the car with the
crackle paint and distress ink.

Thanks Tim for this wonderful technique,
I love it! It gives a wonderful llok.

Have a creative day!

Club Scrap Wisteria Blog Hop

Welcome to another great
Club Scrap blog hop!

If you came from Tricia's
Efficient Crafter's blog: welcome!
Was't it a wonderful project?!!

If you loose your way hopping along.
please go the the
were you will find all the blogs that
are participating.

Here is what I have in store for you:
1. a scrap page ALSB style
2. a card with triple stamping technique
3. surprise box

This is the 2nd layout you find in the ALSB
instructions, that I thought was perfect for the pictures
I took in May when I was in Amsterdam, not knowing
that the Wisteria kit was coming.
It always feels, that Club Scrap knows what we are doing
or where we take pictures of.
Here you see a part of the page, where I used one of the frames
that was included in the box.
I had an earlier post about this triple stamping and I just
love doing it. You can find a video HERE.

The first time I looked at Wisteria, I thought of these
gazebo's where one has a little tea party.
So getting out my 2008 Infusions stamp to make
this card together with the wisteria stamps.
If you want to make a card like this to,
here are the measurements I used:
(first is cardstock, 2nd is paper you stamp on)
card base: 8 1/2"x 5 1/2" + 4"x 5 1/4"
2nd layer: 3 1/4"x 4 1/2" + 3"x 4 1/4"
3rd layer: 2 1/4"x 3 1/2" + 2"x 3 1/4"

This box I found just by accident.
I wasn't looking for another project to do,
but when I noticed it it just said: wisteria.
So I took it home, sanded it and painted it.
After the paint was dry I used the rubber stamps
to decorate the box. Here are a few pictures.

I guess you want to know what is inside
......well I think this post is getting way to long,
so do come back tomorrow
and I show you what is inside!

Thank you for visiting my blog.
It is time to move along to
and see what she has in store for you.

ENJOY!
Have a creative day!

Hambo Hoedown125: Stripes

 Every Wednesday!

Here is my card for this weeks
Hambo Hoedown Challenge
which is

**CHALLENGE: Create a project that uses STRIPES**

For my card I used a stripy background and
Hambo's digital image called: robot
and you can find it HERE.
and some thinlets with these gears
that I punched out in black.
The silver metallic background is a
Tim Holtz embossing folder.
Here you see a part of the card with
all the gears and the brads I used.
There are also to metal gears.

And this is the inside
of the card.
Every Wednesday!
Have a creative day!

Sunday Scrap page: Oops!

The theme for this week is: "Oops!" at the
Weekly Chronicles by Club Scrap.
It was hard, but I think I managed to
come up with something especially
when my new sea turtle stamp
by Michael Strong arrived.
Yes, you quessed right, I had to use it!
I printed the text on the paper and embellished it
with these wonderful gemstones that came with
the Club Scrap Castaway kit (2011) and it
was the last piece :-((
and you can read the text).

This fun sea turtle also comes with the wonderful seaweed
that is great for cards and scrap book pages on the background.
I stamped it and embossed it on lime green on the dark blue
paper and stamped it in green on the yellow.

It is easy to cut the seaweed with a craft knife
and make it come alive by folding it over
the picture at the bottom and

also along the side of the paper.

I am sure you will see more of that turtle!!
Thanks for looking.

Have a creative day!

Saturday Sketch and blog candy: Turtlely Awesome

YEAH!!!!
My Michael Strong sea turtle stamp
has finally crawled into my mail box.
This calls for a celebration!

I have one extra stamp (in the package there
are two stamps: the turtle and the seaweed)
for a give-away

How can you enter?
1. become or are a follower of my blog
2. leave a comment and make sure I can email you
3. any suggestions for turtle sentiments??

On Saturday August 3 I will announce the winner.

Now here is my first turtle card.
I made it for a sketch challenge

Wondering about some of the techniques I used?
Here follows a description:

The background of the card is made with alcohol ink
and I used the colors citrus, pool and stream.
If you like this, but you don't have alcohol ink,
you can use my background.

by saving above picture to your
computer with a click of your right mouse button.

The seaweed on the alcohol ink background is
embossed with lime green embossing powder.
The sentiment is printed with the
computer in the font called skwirl
(you can find it free on www.dafont.com)

I stamped and embossed the turtle in black
and colored the image with distress ink in the
colors peacock feathers, broken china and
mowed lawn by putting a drop on my craft sheet
and adding a drop of water.

To give rhe card some extra bling there
are a few sticky gemstones on his shield and
on the background.

Thanks for looking and leaving your comment.

Have a creative day!
